Had exactly what I needed and Neil was so kind and helped carry the big bag of little to my car! Will be a regular here for sure! Thanks again

I buy my dog expensive dog food here. It's expensive everywhere, though. The employees are friendly and it's right next door to a good poke place, which is an added bonus. I cannot attest to the merits of the nearby dentist or the massage parlour, though the latter has a nice pink glow that reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on or in.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff! Plus they remember our pets names!

Love coming here, they are very knowledgeable with products and recommend home remedies that don’t involve their product.

Came in clutch with honest kitchen fruit and veggie mix, not avail at bigger stores but they had it! Definitely coming back here for my dog's pet food supplies!

Rock Dog and Cat is a great neighborhood pet supply store. Super friendly and helpful staff with convenient curbside pickup. They are the Cheers of pet stores, where everybody knows your name.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. There's a surprising about of stuff packed into this small space. It's organized but some is high up so you may need to ask for what you are looking for. They carry a number of the healthier dog food options. I buy the Canidae brand kibble here and the Evangers wet food. It's a little more pricey than a big box store but I prefer to support local businesses when I can. They have items for other animals but I haven't paid much attention to those. I usually leave in even a better mood than when I arrived because the people are kind but don't bother you if you're just looking around.

I've only ever came here to get the smartbatchdog freeze dried dog food. Every time I've came here he's given me a hateful vibe. Condescending in explaining how to work the dog wash system, I let it pass. Not signing me up for a rewards program account, but signing up my partner, I let it pass. I finally get signed up with my own phone number by his female associate and she explains to me the rewards program. She scans the same items I always get and says I can collect points that equate to money off. Cool, I spend about $100 bucks a month on these. Several months down the line, I decide to go pick up the food instead of my partner. Peter not only ignores my existence. But proceeds to help someone who wasn't waiting in line but still looking at products. The woman tells Peter, he can service me first since I'm ready and she's still looking. Peter barely acknowledged my existence and tries to make conversation because he knows why he ignored me in the first place. My partner is standing right behind me while this is happening. Peter doesn't ask for rewards phone number (as expected) and acts like my purchase doesn't qualify for the rewards. He then SIGNS FOR ME ON MY PURCHASE BEFORE ENTERING THE NUMBER SO I CAN'T USE MY REWARD OR GARNER MY POINTS. As a person of color, I've experienced this type of passive behavior. I know where I'm not wanted. If you experience any passive aggressive hate here, just know you aren't alone in how you feel.

Rock is my go to place for advice and recommendations on my ever growing pack of animals. They've helped me prepare for newborn kittens, upset dog stomachs, summer fleas, etc. Peter and his staff are genuine animal lovers. Happy to support a mom and pop place over one of the big box pet stores!

I used to shop here regularly, buying stacks of wet cat food. The owner usually checked me out at the register. I would buy 10-15 cans per visit, always struggling to carry them all together. Then one day, there was a young girl was working, and I piled up my cat food on the counter as usual. She told me, "If you buy a box you get 10% off" I thought, OH REALLY. I've been coming here for months buying stacks and stacks of cat food plus other items the owner never mentioned this to me once. Now I shop elsewhere.

I knew Rock Dog & Cat was a superlative well-stocked/curated local SoCal gem, but the level of care and knowledge their staff exuded went well above my expectations. Friends and clients of mine only shop there & now so shall I. Thank you, Ben & Jenna, for the chuckles; everyone needs a good 'why did the chicken cross the road?' joke and in a pet store to boot!

This hole in the wall has a lot of product and knowledge! I walked in and was warmly greeted. I asked if they had the Fluff & Tuff toys, the reason I came in. Not only did they have them, they showed me where but they had a huge selection and had great advice for this non-dog owner as to what to get for different breeds of dogs I was buying for. I got the same great service as someone who will be buying their dog food regularly there. I will be back!

We go here for everything for our dogs, and always get great recommendations for anything pet-related. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. All the brands they carry are very high quality.

Love this little shop! I call in my order often and it feels like they remember me. You can walk into the store, call in an order and have it outside waiting for you or they can bring it to your car. So helpful especially since I have a toddler.
