I visited Richard the Thread for the first time today, stopping by to get grommets for my first corset. Lois and Chris were both incredibly knowledgeable, nice and helpful. They had a good selection of high quality materials and their prices are very reasonable. They helped me pick the perfect size/color and even let me use the shop’s press/materials to install my grommets, demonstrated the proper technique and generally just made sure the lacing panel looked WAY better than my first try on my own. I didn’t get a chance to look around as I was on a time crunch, but I will definitely be back!

Lois is the best! I came in looking for corset supplies but also needed expert advice on why my previous sample wasn’t sitting the way I wanted it to. Lois took the time to walk through every single question I had. I left with supplies and a new wealth of knowledge. I can’t thank you enough!

I love this place. I found them during Covid-19 and placed a rather large order over the phone. I'd never been inside the store, but I was beyond impressed with the low prices and superior quality of everything I purchased. The coutil fabric is just beautiful and like nothing I've seen/felt before and 1 yard by 63" is just amazing . The customer service is equally amazing. The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I called to enquire about some grosgrain ribbon that I was interested in and the owner offered to reach out about some petersham grosgrain that I was unsure about. She saved me quite a bit of money seeing as I didn't need to purchase the sample card to check the quality since she's doing it for me. This is the ONLY place I will shop for my corset supplies. I enjoy sewing period pieces and their notions are beautifully fantastic. I don't understand why this business is listed as being expensive with $$$, because they keep their students in mind and a little money goes a long way at this shop, especially for the quality and customer service. I'm so thrilled to have found this amazing shop. They have my business forever. Thank you so much

Quality customer service OMG, the place is small but it's a gem. Very informative and helpful people, especially Louise(hope I got her name right). She took the time to inform, guide and assist this me; (a newbie). This is what I call quality customer service!!!
