Dude this place hits the spot.Order a couple of sushi balls and hand rolls that are a hefty portion that can either fill you up or just the right amount to save room for desert after.Got the beacon avocado and lobster sushi balls.Had to get an unagi hand roll with that lychee lemonade to wash everything down. They have a mini Merch shop with tasty on the go snacks. There are also cute plants and bonsais.Love the wall mural of the wave ? and gold textures to make the whole place feel cozy. The guys there are super chill and feel like the homie in the kitchen hooking you up right that it makes you feel like a boss.Much respect to them holding it down. This place is great for that quick lunch or that dinner hangout spot to catch up with friends.Talking about it makes me crave it even more.Parking: There is a parking garage downstairs and street meters. After a certain time you can park for free just read the signs

i only get the handrolls here. its 19 dollars for 3 hand rolls, edamame, and sashimi. overall the fish is fresh, sushi rice taste good and price is good too.this is kind of like mcdonalds for handrolls. because handroll is alot easier to put together than fancy cut roll and nigiri sushi. they have alot of lower paid workers there making the hand rolls, kind of like mc donalds workers. but there is 1 skilled person working there to prepare the sushi rice and cut the sashimi.also the interior looks bad, worse than mcdonalds. it's a take out or fast food place. plus mitsuwa is right next door, you can probally get some snacks and drinks while you wait for your handroll. that's how i do it.that's' how they are able to have good taste and cheap price.

Advertised as sushi, but just barely that, their sides are cold as well.

Cute and small spot that specializes in onigiri, but also has a selection of hand rolls, sashimi, and bowls. In our experience the food was pretty tasty, but it's definitely better for a light snack/quick lunch. A must try if you're in Little Tokyo.

Some of the best onigiri in the area. It's so different seeing it busy inside since we visited during 2021

Checked out this spot in Little Tokyo, this onigiri spot also offers hand rolls but I checked out a few onigiri and a misubi which was all spectacular. Their rice is very good, they give you a much bigger portion of rice, and it’s seasoned well. Will definitely check it out again! Plus you can eat on their patio.

Food was good and great price, only thing is that it's a small menu but that's ok with a small group. This place went from 5 people to line out the door quickly. Must be a popular place for lunch crowd.

The spam musubi was so good. It was glazed with sweet soy sauce. The lychee lemonade was sweet with 2 real lychees in the cup. Long line for ordering food but it went quickly and the food arrived fast.Long line for the bathroom.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, it's wheelchair accessible

Ordered teriyaki chicken onigiri, salmon yuzu miso onigiri, and cucumber salad. The salmon was good, would try the other salmon ones on the next visit...didn’t care for the teriyaki chicken (better if they added a light glaze to it) Enjoyed having a quick bite and walk around the plaza.

This Japanese restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The service was outstanding, with staff that went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. The food was a gastronomic adventure; each dish was a masterpiece, blending traditional flavors with a modern twist. The ambiance was a perfect blend of contemporary and traditional, creating a welcoming atmosphere that added to the overall experience. Don't miss out on this culinary gem!

Rice & Nori is a self-service Japanese restaurant located on the first floor of the plaza housing Marukai Market. Within walking distance of Japanese Village Plaza, it offers a variety of rice dishes and hand rolls.I ordered the spicy scallop onigiri, spicy tuna onigiri, spicy tuna hand roll, and spam & egg onigiri. The rice was perfectly cooked and most items were made fresh to order. The spicy scallop onigiri struck a nice balance of spice and creaminess. But the spam & egg onigiri, which combined spam, egg, and eel or teriyaki sauce, was the star of the show. While flavors were excellent overall, the spicy tuna hand roll unfortunately had soggy, untoasted seaweed - visible in the photo I took. Rice & Nori should ensure nori is crispy and fresh. With reasonable prices and generous portions, I enjoyed my Rice & Nori meal and would recommend it to rice dish lovers. The onigiri quality and flavors were excellent, aside from the hand roll's subpar seaweed.

I really enjoy coming here for a quick lunch. The staff are nice and efficient. The restaurant is small but customers come and go pretty quickly so finding a table isn't too hard. There's also some seating outside in the plaza. The rice balls are really big. There's quite a few to pick from. I was recommended the tuna mayo and salmon yuzu miso. Lots of flavor in both but i will admit, it's a lot of rice and gets filling fast. The hand rolls are delicious. I definitely recommend the hand roll sets. You even get sashimi and edamame with it. I can share a 5 handroll set with another person. They have another location as well. But if I'll in the area and want to grab a quick bite, this is my go to now.

Can't beat the freshly made warm rice with the furikake and nori hugging the tuna mayo filling! Definitely one of the best onigiris my tastebuds ever tasted - with a good ratio of filling to rice. Good size, and held up pretty well without crumbling. My pops loved the ume onigiri, and mentioned it was one of the top on his list. Will have to come back and try all the other flavors!
