Finally went to one of the last two Pioneer Chicken restaurants in Los Angeles. Even though the location is in a busy and bustling area of Boyle Heights...it is well worth it!After our local one closed years and years ago..I can say the flavors are still as perfect as I remember: chicken that's juicy on the inside while wonderfully crispy on the outside, coleslaw that's creamy and delicious, spicy rice that's cooked to perfection, and last but not least - the BEST fluffy biscuits ever made - that can only be topped by smothering them with real butter! The excellent and friendly service make this Pioneer Chicken a gem!So... Make it one of your "go-to" places - you'll be glad you did!

Went on Saturday March-9-2024 @11:30am.got the 20 piece meal. First time trying this chicken. The chicken had no flavor. Very oily disgusting. The biscuits where under cooked mushy. I did like the barq beans, and coleslaw that's it. I spend $74 dollars definitely not worth 74 dollars. I would not recommend and definitely would not be going back.

Why is there only 2 pioneer chicken left? Best juicy crunchy chicken ever! The biscuits are so soft and not dry at all. Coleslaw was amazing mash potatoes and gravy was delish. But the biscuits and chicken are the stars of the show.Customer service was great was asked by multiple servers if I was taken care of. Love the old pictures on the wall with the old diner decor. I will be back please open more stores. Way better than Popeyes Chick-fil-A KFC .... ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

We had read a post about Pioneer chicken being in business still and expansion plans. We sought out the location of the original and found that it was exactly the same chicken that I had grown up on when I was young. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, crispy as ever, and perfectly cooked. From the first bite it has taken me back to my childhood and I was in absolute heaven. I will definitely go back to this location as often as I am in LA and I can’t wait. We took home their largest box to my mom and the rest of my family. My mom, husband, and I agree that this is still the best chicken around. I wish there was a location near me. I would love to franchise this chicken myself as I know there are many more people who feel the same way. This is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had.

Chicken comes in dark and white varieties, and I personally prefer white. I think it's a taste that Japanese people like, but why hasn't it arrived in Japan? Tastes better than Kentucky.

Stumble upon this fried chicken chaine, only 2 left in the world. popeyes was popular during the nineties era, and I was in 7th grade my parents get a family meal for dinner time. I think it is on the bucket list if you like fried fish and fried chicken and corn bread.

The breading and crunch is unbelievable on the chicken. Nice to find a place that has gizzards; they are also excellent. We ate inside and they asked several times how things were, bringing us hot sauce and more water. Very kind and gracious service.Parking: There's a lot of parking, but the chicken is great so spots are gone once they open up.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs available if you ask.

Fabulous! My first time trying the food. I didn't know the bushes still existed until I saw a video about the place. I remember Pioneer from my childhood 30 years ago and I've seen the business disappear over the years. The best chicken I've ever had!
