I have been a resident of Long Beach Lofts since January 1999. The longest I have lived anywhere. P & T have always been there with repairs and remodeling and upkeep.

I have lived in the building at 688 S. Santa Fe Avenue in the DTLA Arts District for almost eight years. I love the old warehouse turned live/work loft building. It was the first legal Artist-in-Resident (AIR), so is authentic in character. My unit is 1500 square feet and for that amount of space there is nothing else like it in the neighborhood. The location is perfectly situated for the growth that is occurring in the Arts District (even during a pandemic) and will only get better once the 6th Street bridge and revitalization of the L.A. River is completed. There is a real sense of community in the neighborhood and our property management is professional and responds to all my needs efficiently.

We lived in this exceptional loft for two years and had only great experiences with Alex and management. Alex was very professional, efficient and quick to respond to all our needs. Scott was also great. The loft is amazing in every way and so is the building on 688 Santa Fe Ave. This is by far the best place we have ever lived and we would highly recommend it!

All good reviews here! Only positive things to say. I really love my loft space! I lived here for 8 years starting in the mid 90's and did move out for a while, but came back and have been back for 6 more years! It was nice to see some familiar faces and to meet new neighbors. It is a nice community and good vibe Overall. There is a group of us that play pool volleyball on any nice weekend day. It's kind of like an Oasis.... in the produce district.

Love the building and the community within it. We get nothing but compliments from visitors on our space.

I have some comments in regards Katrina's review. The first, being that I've lived in this amazing building for nearly 3 years and have never dealt with a more accommodating, friendly landlord. Any issue that I've run into (which has only been related to appliances, not people) have been addressed immediately even when it was a hassle (like the sink getting clogged on Thanksgiving). The entire complex is a community with friendly neighbors who respect one another. In all of the time that I've lived here, I have NEVER had an issue with any other tenant. Until Katrina rolled in... I'm married to the tenant that Katrina makes slanderous comments about throughout her post. You know, the one who made her life "a living hell since (from) day 1." What a joke. The neighbor who lived upstairs for 20 years worked late but any time he was being loud (he'd sometimes use drills and hammers in the middle of the night) we'd kindly ask him to keep it down and he would just like any considerate neighbor would. We're still unclear as to what Katrina and her crew did upstairs but I vaguely remember hearing that she called herself a photographer. After seeing the various "shoots" happen throughout the building (the most memorable, staring a shirtless man in leather pants and matching vest strewn across our stairs as this seasoned professional spat out clichés that equated to 'making love to the camera') I came to the conclusion that she was another inexperienced, delusional photogs who rips people off by taking their headshots. You know, those people who advertise their by leaving their poorly designed flyers in coffeeshops throughout LA, promising images that will catapult their victims/clients to stardom. But I digress and will now address Katrina directly. When it comes to this "tenant" that you speak of, you're referring to my husband. How dare you make disparaging comments about him when you have absolutely NO facts on which to base your claims. It was brought to our attention by your next door neighbor (who we've been close friends for 10 years now) that you were commenting on his behavior and saying he was crazy due to the "head injury that he sustained when he was in his motorcycle accident" Our friends, who you thought you were engaging in harmless, neighborly gossip with, played d*** in order to hear the lies that you spewed and were blown away that you could be so callous about an incident that almost took someone's life. Straight up, no-class. All the garbage about the on-site manager "having to step in" about the parking situation is hilarious. The manager laughed and rolled his eyes as he asked us to be aware when parking our tiny 1960's BMW 2002 and VW Rabbit because poor Katrina was having a hard time parking her massive Suburban and garish, yellow Hummer in her spots. You should have heard how hard we laughed along with the manager. The thought that someone could, with a straight face, complain about their oversized, space-wasters not being able to fit alongside two of the smallest cars made, is beyond hilarious. Believe me, no one was ever poking around the tires of your gaudy, ostentatious car (I know I'm beating a dead horse but if you're going to actually buy a Hummer, would you really choose Yellow?! And to be even more tasteless, you fill up the back window with those tacky stickers that represent each member of your family? Could you be a bigger joke?) The reason he was ever close to your car was to work on his. Trust me, no one had any interest in your cheap-ass rims or extensive collection of bumper stickers. In closing, let's talk about the real reason why you "left so quietly".Once again, I was woken up at 3am by your stomping around, I had enough and my "unstable" husband again asked that you keep it down. In response, I could hear you snicker and snort. The ne

In response, Alex, I must protest with your claims of excessive noise. The tenant before us worked graveyard shift and slept all day for 20 years (as we were told by the renting manager) so the people below us had no idea what it was like having people walk around upstairs. Any noise we made walking, they came upstairs angrily to confront us. The onsite management had to step in as this tenant is known for his hostility and unpredictable mood/behavior. I didn't want to say all this but you force my hand with your comments. If you had listened to us and talked about what was going on as requested via email, you would have been aware of all this. In fact, 4 tenants including the onsite managers were shocked when they saw us moving out. I explained your reasons with you having said you interviewed all the tenants in the building and they had no idea what I was talking about. They commented that they never knew we were ever there. A few more things you would be aware of if you had spoken to us as requested was that gentleman below us constantly caused parking problems for us by purposely parking over our line, forcing us to request new spots many times (with onsite manager sympathizing with the known problem). One time I even caught him poking around in the very large front wheel well of my vehicle and when I made my presence known, he left quickly without acknowledging my presence intentionally. He was erratic, hostile at all times, and made our lives hell from day 1 of our arrival. When I telephoned you regarding this issue and left a voicemail, you immediately called the lease holder and told him to tell me not to call you anymore and only he can call you regarding any issues. We left calmly and quietly because there was no need to explain this to someone who did not want to hear. We could no longer work under the conditions and were not planning to renew the lease in a few months anyways. Regardless of who was the lease holder and who was considered a guest makes no matter. Facts are facts and I wish I would have known this issue existed before we wasted our time investing in such a big move. I hope in the future you listen to whomever wants to speak to you, tenant or "guest" when these issues arise. Even if you had listened and pretended to understand what was really going on here, there would not be so much animosity. You wholeheartedly believed them without giving us a chance to speak which is poor client relations. In response to Renae B: " Noise travels in these spaces, it's the price one pays for beautiful hardwood floors and high ceilings. Yes, it is difficult to ascertain where the source of noise originates from at times in dwellings such as these, I've been victim of a less than stable neighbor constantly yapping that we were the cause of stomping around. We were NOT the cause and Alex, realizing this, immediately put a stop to the accusations, paying them no mind whatsoever. I urge anyone reading these reviews to do the same regarding Ms Katrina B's unfortunate tirade." Renae, I too believe this would have been the case if Alex would have spoken to either of us on the telephone. She refused and would only speak via email AFTER she already told us to vacate and ignored our request to clarify the situation because it was not our fault. We are not speaking out of anger or bitterness for leaving the loft, we are upset with how it was handled by her and since you were not there, please don't refer to my words as a "tirade". Imagine how you would feel living in a building where you felt threatened by an unstable neighbor? This "tirade" could have been avoided had she spoken to me but she refused, leaving me to speak in this forum for future tenants to see. Thank you!

Extremely loud residents who leave security gates propped open all day and all night, extremely loud competitive pool sports located right next to apartment units that occur at unscheduled random times and continue late into the night. No dogs or music production allowed but it is acceptable and even encouraged to yell and scream near other units if you're in the pool area. Homeless people easily find their way in thanks to the constant lazy door propping by those who can't be bothered to use their keys.
