Four Paws & A Tail
3726 Sunset Blvd, Los AngelesI recently took my dog to Four Paws and a Tail for a nail trim, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. They accepted my walk-in off the street right away, which was incredibly convenient. My dog is usually very anxious and uncomfortable in new places, but the staff did an amazing job calming her down. They treated her with such kindness and care. The nail trim was done in about 4 minutes flat, and my dog was calmer than ever. The service was exceptional, and the price was very reasonable at just $10. This will definitely be our regular nail trim shop from now on. Highly recommend!

Healthy Spot
6063 Melrose Ave, Los AngelesCannot recommend this Healthy Spot enough! We have exclusively been bringing our five year old pitbull rescue for grooming services to Reagan monthly for the last year, and can confirm that she is the best. Our dog is not the easiest to handle but you would never know based on her demeanor with Reagan. She always left with a beautiful makeover but more importantly she seemed truly happy. We recently moved out of state and still are missing Reagan. 10/10, best in town, Changa misses you Reagan! And she misses the rest of the Healthy Spot squad who always greeted us cheerfully when we came in for broths, treats, and more.

Andy's Pet Grooming Eagle Rock
1741 Colorado Blvd, Los AngelesBest grooming place ! Let me start off with the staff: George (owner) is awesome…super welcoming and fantastic with dogs. Carmen is the best groomer – she listens carefully and does exactly what I ask, making sure my dogs look perfect every time. George mom is also incredibly sweet.
The shop itself is packed with food, treats, clothes, and other cute items. But what I love most is how they treat my babies. I bring in all four of my dogs and they always come out looking beautiful. Highly recommend this place !

Lovely nose pet grooming
4209 W Washington Blvd, Los AngelesThe team here did a really great job on our little old lady. I highly recommend this place. My wife and I came in honestly having low expectations. We just wanted her matted hair trimmed off at an affordable price and were expecting a somewhat goofy looking dog. At previous groomers we would find the cuts just a bit funny but always were happy enough that our dogs would have no knots or anything. When we came to pick her up though she looked so beautiful and was so soft and happy. We are definitely coming back for our future grooming needs. Please give them a try! The place is a hidden gem.

21Pooch Dog & Cat grooming salon
5137 Sunset Blvd Unit 213, 2nd floor, Los AngelesI went to take my cat to get his nails trimmed. I was surprised when I arrived, to see the only way to reach the place was via a long stairway. Being disabled, and walking with a walker, this was going to be impossible. I called to ask if they could come downstairs with their clippers. A very sweet gal came down, and took my cat back up to do his nails, then she brought him back down for me! This is called going above and beyond! And they did a great job on his nails! I will return, for sure!

Valentine’s Dog Grooming
5459 N Figueroa St, Los AngelesI recently dropped off my 9-month old golden doodle for her first haircut at Valentine's. I had wanted to go about a month earlier, but their recommendation was to wait, because my dog had recently been bitten by another dog at a park. My wife was the one that dropped the dog off and provided the instructions. Not sure what she said, but Valentine's did an amazing job, especially around the face. They gave her extra depth around her eyes that made her look so much better than before. We also really liked the puffy area that they created around her snout. Overall, we were very happy with the result and will definitely be going back!

Hearts and Halos
Los AngelesI am sorry you are reading this but that means you are trying to ensure you find the best final goodbye for your pet. I want to share my experience to hopefully help ease any of your nerves. We helped my sweet pup cross the rainbow bridge on December 30, 2023 but haven't had the mindset to fully revisit the final goodbye. I called heart and halos a couple times, the first time to was once we were beginning to consider euthanasia and I just wanted information and linh was very sweet. I called two times during the next few weeks to check on their availability until we were really ready to let go. We wanted to wait until after Christmas to enjoy having our sweet boy with us one last time but wanted a back up plan in case we thought he wouldn't make it. I was informed it was an extra $200 on holidays (not eve) but otherwise same price on weekends. We paid around $600 for my baby boy but they have different prices depending on after care packages and pet weight. Overall, linh had a big impact on us deciding on Heart and halos as she was very patient and compassionate. I had called other euthanasia places and they were rude and just wanted to know if you wanted to book now or would hang up. Your receptionist is a big representative of the company. About 15 minutes before our appointment time, we got a phone call from a private number to let us know their ETA. They arrived right at our appointment time, not a minute late. My judgment about the company was not wrong, Dr Susan was very sweet. Once they got to the house, I asked that her assistant wait outside and to only have Dr. Susan come inside after a few minutes while I settled into position with my baby boy. Dr. Susan went above and beyond to make sure my sweet boy did not see her. I held him on my chest sitting on our living room couch as she snuck in and kneeled behind the couch. With him facing the opposite direction, she administered the first injection. The only thing I wish I could have prepared for was that my baby did feel the first shot and it did sting him once it was administered. Nothing on the doctors practice, she even diluted it and gave me an option on how I would like the first shot, IV, IM or SQ. She recommended SQ for less pain and even advised she dilutes it with normal saline as part of her practice. As I registered nurse I know that this can happen with an injection, I just imagine it feels like getting a vaccine- very minimal pain compared to a natural death. Luckily my baby had been receiving sq fluids at the same site of the first sq injection, so my baby probably just thought I was poking him again for give him fluids. My baby boy was deep asleep within ** minutes and did not feel the second shot given intravenous. My baby boy crossed the rainbow bridge knowing he was loved, laying on my chest in the comfort of his own home. The experience of putting your childhood pet to sleep is something no one can truly prepare you for, I miss him everyday. But I rest in comfort knowing I chose the very best service to put him to rest.

Brentwood Pet Clinic: Carvalho Kimberly DVM
11718 W Olympic Blvd, Los AngelesI've been going to VCA Brentwood Animal Hospital since I moved to LA, 25 years ago. Everything about the operation is first-rate, but the REAL reason I've been so loyal, despite moving further away from the Olympic Blvd. offices, is Dr. Carvalho!! She's a terrific vet - gets to the point, doesn't shy away from bad news, doesn't look for it, either! Neither complacent nor alarmist, Dr. Carvalho has navigated me through all kinds of crises and near crises with a number of beloved dogs and cats. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dog Savvy Los Angeles
1817 Bellevue Ave, Los AngelesWe have two chihuahua mix rescues who have both benefited greatly from their training with Alexandra. One of our dogs was reactive, and its now much easier to bring him on walks as well as have visitors to our home. The other was quite skittish which made training on our own tricky. Alexandra really helped us navigate his needs and build up his confidence. Both of our dogs are more confident and much better citizens since they started training. Also, while we originally did training in person and weren't quite sure how well virtual training would go, Alexandra navigates Zoom training remarkably and we don't feel like we're losing anything from not having in-person sessions.

Happy Heart Pet Care
1730 Camino Palmero St, Los AngelesWhere do I start?
So thankful for Matt and Anna Maria. Matt has been a life saver with behavior modification with my sweet girl Cocoa. Cocoa is a hyper-vigilant rescue pit, with a few social challenges. Matt not only was able to with patience and professionalism, earn her trust, and help with her behaviors, he was also able to teach me, ways to manage when she and I are in the wild. He is very hands on, and teaches key fundamentals when handling a dog, and working with the world around them.
I literally on multiple occasions have been able to handle situations without panic and stress due to Matt’s training. Cocoa also has been managing her stress better as well. You are equipped with the knowledge literally after just one session, the most rewarding thing is seeing the transformation in Cocoa.
She has come such a long way.
Happy Heart Pet Care has been a blessing. I highly recommend. 10 out of 10!

Riley's Doggie Daycare
1427 Santee St, Los AngelesIt's been a long time coming...we should have written this years ago! We have been clients of Riley's for a few years now and realized as dog owners that it's so important for dog owners to know of the great options for daycare for their pups in LA. We have had our dog Theo for 9 years and we have lived in Seattle, New York, and LA can say without hesitation that this is the best daycare experience we have ever had! The team is just exceptional in terms of their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for dogs. The vetting and onboarding process that they take on gives us comfort knowing that our pup along with the others are in a safe space. The facilities are spotless and organized in a way that allows for both small and large dogs to have a wonderful experience even during the hot summer months in LA with both air conditioned indoor and clean outdoor spaces. Specifically for our dog Theo requires special attention when it comes to his medication and food management, and we have the utmost trust in the team as they have taken care of him as if he were their own. Even when we go away on long trips, he always comes home extremely happy after boarding. We can always tell that he's had a great time with his friends at Riley's. We have moved further away from Riley's but will not compromise continue to bring him here. We are so happy and thankful for the entire team. We couldn't imagine our lives (and Theo's) without the Riley's team in it!

Dogdrop
905 E 2nd St #110, Los AngelesApril 2023 - UpdateSomeone commented on not getting daily report cards or photos. Somewhat true, but not entirely relevant to the quality of service. I couldn’t say much as it wasn’t until more recently that I was able to use the services here. With that said I do get photos, unexpected times as well, but not everyday, and that is perfectly fine. I don’t need to have a daily photo, and would rather know that the dogs are getting attention rather than having someone just taking photos and not actually interacting with them.Additionally I’m not even in a position to be checking my phone in some instances. I have received a weekly report card. I have yet to log in online and see what is there. It’s very clear that there are efforts made for everyone to get to know the dogs as they all are recognized from a distance when they are walking in, and the drop off as well as pickup is quick.——————Great service, you can tell they care a lot about the dogs as well as the well-being of the employees working there. Annoying that it isn’t open on Sunday, but also does allow everyone working there a day free. Loss of star is because it is extraordinarily difficult to contact this place. I absolutely cannot stand business that avoid talking to their customers and force them through some chat or text. A bit unprofessionally, but more so highly inefficient.______To the response: this does make sense given the noise of the dogs in the background. Thank you for clarifying. I guess the issue is that typically the time I have my phone I am unable to text, and it also feels like a wall to communications. Maybe even a have a way to leave a question that is transcribed to your team and they send a text response. That is fine. Other times it’s a matter of spending 10 minutes in back and forth text in what could be 2 minutes call. Sunday thing is understandable, as are shorter weekend hours. Annoying, but I’m all for balanced work schedules.

Mariscos El Chito
4970 Axtell St, Los AngelesI was coming home from a trip from Cabo and didn't find good seafood there, so before making it back home I decided to stop by Mariscos El Chito. The food literally saved me!! I got the shrimp ceviche and the fish ceviche, which comes with a small bag of tostadas. So so fresh, flavorful, and refreshing! Since it was my first visit they also gave me a free shrimp taco with a hot salsa and guac. The taco was delicious, I'm definitely coming back for them! Incredible food aside, the family running this business are such kind and pleasant people to chat with. I stayed for a little while to wait for my order and tell them about my trip and exchange travel stories, and they were so lovely and inviting! Service, food, and atmosphere were all absolute winners, so I'll definitely be back!

Lange Foundation - *BY APPOINTMENT ONLY*
2106 S Sepulveda Blvd, Los AngelesThis place is THE BEST. Not only do they let you pet and hang out with all the animals, but if you want, you can even take them home. For FREE! It's basically heaven with animals. And really nice and helpful (in a non-creepy way) people who introduce you to them. I still remember the first time I went as a kid so many years ago... I've never been the same since.

K911 ResQ
8726 S Sepulveda Blvd, Los AngelesThis rescue does nothing but good in this world! The rescue injured doggies and the pay for surgeries and treatments where others would have walked away. I can't thank the people of K911 ResQ enough for what they do. They rescued Vito, a paralyzed pup, got him physical therapy and now he's been able to move a little more than he used to. God bless you!

Pet Pride Cat Shelter
3350 S Robertson Blvd, Los AngelesA lot of 1 star reviews act angry because you have to pay a fee during in-takes. They're a private rescue who can't cover all the vet or health related costs themselves. If you think up to $2,500 is expensive, imagine taking in several cats. Most other rescues who cover that cost are full. I have seen several high quality rescues either charge roughly this amount for take-ins. Those will do a 2 week quarantine for vet visits before intriducing to the whole cat group. I implore readers to do their research before hunting for a pet or for a rescue to drop off a stray.

I can not thank this shelter enough for their hard work, diligence and help. I only hope for them to continue with these projects for years.
Thank you Perfect Pet Rescue, but primarily thank you Rene.

Vanderpump Dogs
8134 W 3rd St, Los AngelesI am finally coming around to writing a review about my absolutely perfect bachelorette party at Vanderpump Dogs.
I was looking for an alternative bachelorette activity that didn't involving partying or drinking and wanted to do some sort of group volunteering. Vanderpump Dogs happily welcomed myself and my friends on this special day. Emmy was incredibly kind and Chad was lovely to work with. Both Emmy and Chad were attentive and taught us all about the importance of dog rescuing. We spent the day playing with the dogs on the roof and in the pens and lots of puppy love.
Vanderpump Dogs is a gorgeous facility and the dogs receive the top quality care. They are a 501(c)(3) organization. I will keep them in mind for gifts in the future as a portion of the funds go back into the organization. I highly recommend for anyone to adopt, foster, donate and volunteer here. It is a gem of a place and can't wait to go back and visit. Thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers here - you are all super stars.

Santé D'Or
3165 Los Feliz Blvd, Los AngelesI volunteer here, and I can say that this shelter truly does outstanding work. The staff is highly attentive to each cat's individual temperament and medical needs, both in the shelter and foster. The space and crates are frequently cleaned, and the cats are all doted on. At the point I am ready to adopt, I will be going with Santé D'Or.

Crumbs & Whiskers | Kitten & Cat Cafe
7924 Melrose Ave, Los AngelesSpent my Halloween night here at Crumbs & Whiskers and it was truly special. I was helped by staff members Olivia and Lynn, and the two of them were both wonderful employees who were knowledgeable about their cats and everything I wanted or needed to know regarding adoption and simply curiosities sake. Going as far as to explain the water fountain they provide for their cats, where they got it, and how they cleaned it, as I was personally interested in purchasing one for myself. I can tell they take great care of their felines by their regular cleaning procedures and the flawless appearance of the place! The environment here is wonderfully designed, with a calming, enjoyable pink and white pallet and a great atmosphere that exudes friendliness and warmth. There were cat beds on the windows and trees everywhere for them to climb. I felt so welcomed, and I knew I was surrounded by fellow compassionate cat lovers who have their own furry friends at home and love to help others find their furry soul mates. As someone who can't have caffeinated coffee, I worried about their options regarding this particular topic, but they do have caffeinated and non caffeinated drinks! All of the cups have lids and were super cat-proof so my drink wasn't knocked over and spilt while I played with their felines. The employees also helped take photos of me with their cats, as I didn't have anyone with me to take photos, so that service was incredibly sweet and appreciated. They even had a Polaroid camera for me to use! Again, shout out to the ladies who helped me, and please visit this place! I certainly plan to come back in the future! This cat cafe made my Halloween a very special memory. Thanks!
