This review is 12 years overdue! When I first moved to LA, I had a rusty car from the East coast that was literally as old as I was. It was on its last legs, and Jimmy always made repairs at a fair price. But one visit, Jimmy told me, "Let it go." He somehow knew the car was sentimental to me, and I was hanging on to it as long as I could, but it hard reached its end. The point of this story is that Jimmy is an honest mechanic, and won't charge you for unnecessary fixes or hustle you into something you don't need.Jimmy is kind, fair, and gives helpful tips. I always enjoy my visits. He fixes things quickly, and the shop is just a couple of blocks away from Sunset in Sliverlake, so you can easy go grab coffee/tea/food while waiting.Thank you, Jimmy! :)

My Partner Adam and I, Michael have been coming to Jimmy for over 20 years. He has repaired so many of our cars and always get the best of the best. He knows us well. Jimmy has been my mechanic for almost 15 years now. He is a friendly, honest, and skilled mechanic. He's kept my Ford, Subaru and now Honda Odyssey running well past 200k.

Jimmy remembered me from many years ago, even though that was a different car. He immediately assessed what was wrong, and gave us a price on the spot (which was MUCH lower than the dealer, but also really fair.) He is cheerful and seems to love his work, we got the car one business day later with a major repair completed! Trust and honesty is the way to go. Use Pacific Auto Service.

Jimmy is the man! You want an honest, competent mechanic who will fix your car and make you smile then look no further, this is your shop! Jimmy saved us $900 that another shop quoted us for a broken fuel pump. It was not in fact the fuel pump and it and it was a much simpler and less expensive fix. We are extremely grateful! Thank you

I was a long time customer (8 years) of Jimmy"s at Pacific Auto.He provides fast service for a reasonable price.However; he works too fast and does NOT CHECK HIS WORK.He replaced the rear axles on my car and when it came back there was a clunk in the rear end upon acceleration. He wasn't sure but he thought it was the differential. I limped it to a suspension specialist, we put it on the lift and it was IMMEDIATELY OBVIOUS that he had NOT tightened the bolts from the drive shaft to the universal joint at the rear axle. Completely loose, as in a 1/4" of exposed thread between the nut and the u joint. So much space that it cluncked when accelerating. If I had stepped on it, on the highway I would have snapped the bolts and who knows what would have happened.He also put the lift thru the floor board on the driver's side and didn't notice and didn't tell me. He repaired an electrical issue only to find out a few days later that none of my notification chimes work, headlights on, seat belts, key in the ignition, etc. So, for basic repairs, A/C, electrical issues, lube job, things that will not impact your safety yah, you should be able to trust him BUT for anything safety related RUN AWAY, FAR AWAY

Been going to Jimmy for 13 years now. Best mechanic there is. A good man who does great work very quickly for a fair price. He keeps my old Toyota running smoothly.
