Former intern here. I worked the virtual events during the pandemic. Despite the change in format (and the unpaid aspect of it), the people I met and what I learned were very helpful. Mind you I'm only speaking from the perspective of their digital events, which, by the time you read this, probably aren't a thing. So I can't speak for how the regular, in person events function.
