I’ve been training with Coach Karl at Movement Society for the last 3-4 months and have had a great experience. I came to Movement Society as a mid-30s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / MMA hobbyist looking to increase my athleticism and decrease my chances for injury. Coach Karl asked thoughtful questions and carefully analyzed my needs. He helped me realize my full body motions were strong, but my hips were tight and my single leg stability was compromised. He designed a program to address these issues. Since then, I’ve continuously noticed how much stronger I am in positions I previously struggled with. My grappling strength has improved quite a bit; and I’m able to keep up with other practitioners who are significantly younger and more spry than myself.During this time, I also pulled my back doing Jiu Jitsu and saw Dr Tony Dang for several sessions — he put me back together quickly and I was able to start training again within a month.I’d highly recommend Movement Society for personal training and PT, and I see myself coming here for a long time.

I love Movement Society! It's an amazing facility to train at ~ the space is cool and modern, all of the trainers and staff are down to earth, and the entire vibe of the place is so inviting. My personal trainer is Karl and he does a great job at making workouts fun - especially for me who sees exercising as a chore lol. I have yet to check out the group classes but I hear all great things about them!

This gym is an absolute gem in the middle of the Arts District. There's parking spaces right in front dedicated to Movement Society clients and a ton of cool surrounding businesses.All of the coaches and practitioners have been so incredible to work with. I fixed my neck pain with the help of chiropractor Dr. Johnathan Shay, rehabbed my sprained ankle with physical therapist Dr. Tony Dang, and even got my body wedding-ready with Coach Tawnya. This place is truly a comprehensive wellness center and the community they have curated always makes walking into the gym feel like you're stepping into a good friend's place.Currently, I work with Coach Karl Flores. I love the space both mentally and physically that Karl holds for me. I have never been the type of person to love working out, but I always knew I had to for my well-being. Now, I look forward to training and I feel like a better human overall because of it. Fitness has truly changed my life for the better and I have Karl to thank for that. Seriously... thank you Karl!! The thought, care, and knowledge you serve is wonderful and I am so grateful for you.I want everyone to be able to experience the joy that Movement Society provides!(plus: I'm even able to take meetings/do work in their lobby area while waiting for my session to start)

I just wrapped up Karl’s kettlebell essentials course and will be moving on to the advanced class. Highly recommend checking them out whether you’re into group fitness or a more personalized one on one approach.

Movement Society is a one stop for all your fitness, wellness and overall physical performance. The Chiropractor, Physical Therapist and all of the trainers are knowledgeable, safe and passionate about their clients goals and needs. It’s by far the BEST training gym in Los Angeles.

Honestly, they really care about your goals and are willing to help you achieve it. I was at a low point in my life with my mental and physical health. Working out with Karl has helped me rediscover the joys of fitness and has given me so much more. He really gets down to the basics of how your body works and moves and implements workouts on strengthening your weak points without overdoing it. It is not a fast process but as you go consistently you’ll definitely see the improvements in your fitness and mobility. Definitely would recommend anyone to train here.

The first word that comes to mind is WOW! I have seen quite a few trainers, instructors, and fitness teachers in my day, and Tawnya at Movement Society is the absolute best! Her movement background is unmatched with her many successful years in her dance craft, giving her a deep foundation and understanding of proper mechanics, healthy movement patterns, and building a strong body. Tawnya is a true expert in the fitness space. She has a gift for meeting you where you are at and building not only muscle but most importantly your confidence. Her whole-hearted approach will help you adopt exercise and healthy living as a lifestyle, a mindset, and apart of your identity.I have never been excited to wake up early and prioritize my health until her. I can’t wait to jump out of bed at 5am to go work with her. Her workout routines are tailored, individualized to my evolving needs, and fun! She is engaged, detail-oriented, empathetic, and your #1 cheerleader. I have never worked with someone that has supported me in every sense of the word. If you have the honor to work with her, results will go beyond the physical appearance but will outstandingly impact your mind and spirit as well.Thank you Tawnya for everything you do. Working with Tawnya has been beneficial beyond words! I had no idea how many blind spots I had to mobility and strength. In my time with her leading up to the Olympic trials my I became more explosive, more agile and had better stamina. She catered each workout to what my goals were and came up with innovative ideas to reach them! Movement Society offers an intimate and welcoming environment as well, with everything you could need as a movement artist, including a dance floor! I highly recommend!!

Tawnya has been life changing for me. I’ve never consistently trained in my life, I always felt too overwhelmed by the idea of “fitness” and would get discouraged. But she has been an amazing coach and mentor to me for over a year and a half. I look forward to our sessions no matter how I’m feeling because I know she’s always going to meet me where I’m at. I’ve learned so much from her but also feel so cared for and her compassion radiates. I really appreciate that when I have body setbacks because of pain she zeroes in on that rather that having me ignore it. Because of this my hips and back feel better in my forties than they did in my thirties! Coach Tawnya is truly a special gift.

We love Movement Society! All of the trainers are great. Our favorite is Coach Tawnya, this woman embodies everything she teaches. We had the opportunity to bring her in as a guest educator for prevention techniques, proper mobility exercises and core strengthening. It was the perfect balance of fun while still being challenged physically & mentally. Tawnya has such a big heart, she truly wants the best for her clients and we highly recommend you giving them a shot.

Movement Society is hands down the best fitness environment I’ve been a part of in LA. I can’t recommend them enough, especially Karl Flores. Beyond being an amazing trainer, Karl has been so friendly, motivating, and inspirational. Definitely check them out!

We need more people like her & this space *chefs kiss* seeing it before to now!!!
