I'm definitely closing my account soon. I received a text asking 4:45pm on Friday, January 12th, informing me that someone attempted fraud on my account. Afterward, I received a call from the fraud detection department and went through all of my transactions from that day. I decided to transfer my money to my savings account to be safe and since it wasn't connected to my debit card, I wanted to wait until after the holiday weekend to make sure my account was ojay. Since I got paid that morning, I paid a lot of bills that didn't hit my account until after Friday. So this morning, I checked my account and saw that I was in the negative and that I had 4 overdraft fees. I went to the Los Angeles branch to get a new debit card and was informed that they no longer give them to you on-site. Now, they have to be mailed to you. I'm not happy about that! Then I asked about removing the 4 overdraft charges because my account had been flagged for fraud, and I wanted to get the charges removed before I transferred the money back into my checking. Why did they tell me they could only remove 2 of the charges? WTF?! I call myself trying to protect my money over a holiday weekend to make sure no more money would be taken from me, and they have the nerve to TAKE EVEN MORE MONEY FROM ME!! I was so upset I couldn't wait to get out of that office!! I will NEVER recommend them to anyone.

I have been a member for 5years & who ever approves the personal loans have little or no expirence and they don't help members who ask for help example the LAFC logo is we finance people for there future..I just was approve to purchase a home loan Have a outstanding record with Toyota financial and I just paid off a 18thousand welfare orange county case.. this loan they denied me was only $1,500...The LAFC only loans money to there friends not members who need help..

I enjoy banking at LAFCU! They have a convenient location at the LA Mall Branch. I am always greeted with great customer service by everyone at the branch but especially Roxana Del Río the Branch Manager, she's exceptional and always goes the extra mile to help out. Bonus they have parking validation for the time business is conducted, ATM located outside the branch and available appointments for loan needs.

I was very satisfied with customer service I received from Roxana Del Rio, branch manager from LAFCU , LA Mall Branch . She made it possible for me to get a loan . I highly encourage anyone who wishes to get any type of loan at this location, vehicle , personal, Real Estate or other . There is free and convenient parking available , friendly staff and great customer service.

Had a business transaction here and I had to use the restroom security had me go a whole block to use the restroom I felt appalled at how in this whole million dollar business that I pay taxes to had not one restroom so unprofessional. Not only that it is located in a whole shopping mall. As a black woman I felt discriminated against.

Just the right bank for LA locals or "Angelinos." It's a credit union so expect a different service than big banks who only care about their profit and bottom line. They only used to open accounts for city workers but opened up to the public a few years ago. Your money is federally insured for at least $250,000. Their asset in 2022 is $1.2 billion so you can count on them to be around for a long time. What I like about LAFCU the most is their charity fundraising and events planned for the local community, such as for the children's hospital, habitat for humanity, food bank, veterans support, etc. If you're a LA local and want your money to work for your local community, LAFCU should be your bank if not already. There's also a 14 month term certificate of deposit at 4%APR right now. The deadline is the end of this month.

I have been with this credit union for 20+ years . I have had cars trucks and 2 Rv's. I have never ever missed a payment . I requested a loan to refinance a car loan and was turned down because of a late payment on the car that I was trying to refinance.After spending a month and a half with covid .The past record with the credit union meens nothing .

I've been with LAFCU for over 30 years but this last year is forcing me to leave them. I cannot use an ATM. Almost every time I go to an ATM my card is flagged for fraud and frozen. I then end up spending hours trying to resolve the issue. I was gratified(?) to see that I'm not the only one with this issue as I read about a similar experience on this Yelp page. They need to get another fraud detection service because the one they are using is incomprehensible. I got flagged for using my LAFCU card at an actual LAFCU ATM that I specifically drove to avoid this issue. It still froze my card and I couldn't use it. This cannot be the industry standard. I literally can't bank with them: they won't give me access to my own money. What good is are they?

Just got a loan through them. Customer service is non existent. After you get the loan no one picks up or returns your call. Waited on the phone for hours several times. People respond to their chat service but are clueless to how their website and app works when it comes to trying to make a payment. I feel like I’m fighting tooth and nail trying to make a payment.
