I recently joined LA Fitness on El Centro and I'm impressed! It has everything I need for a well-rounded workout. The gym is spacious and well-maintained with a good amount of cardio and weight training equipment. I haven't had to wait for machines yet, even during peak hours.
A big plus for me is the variety of group fitness classes offered. They have something for everyone, from yoga and Pilates to spin and bootcamp. I've tried a few classes already and the instructors are motivating and knowledgeable.
The locker rooms are clean and spacious, and the pool area seems nice (though I haven't used it yet). The staff is friendly and helpful, answering any questions I've had.
Overall, LA Fitness on El Centro is a great option for anyone looking for a convenient and well-equipped gym. The variety of classes and equipment, along with the clean facilities, make it a great value for the price.
Things to consider: I haven't been a member for long enough to comment on potential downsides, but some reviews mention crowded times. It might be worth checking their busy hours before signing up.

i lost my ticket to parking and have never been treated so disrespectfully for such a stupid thing. the man who worked behind the desk literally said “you think you can come in here all highly rated and get whatever you want” when he knows nothing about me and i was calmly asking if i could just get another ticket.
i definitely will not be coming back here after that people need to sort their lives out and treat everyone with respect and especially not unleash all their pent up anger with their own lives over such a stupid thing as a parking ticket.

I’ve been attending this gym for many years because of its convenient location, but I’ve also been to many other locations. This location is consistently neglected by corporate offices. Air conditioning has been broken for a month on the second floor. Locations in nicer neighborhoods would’ve been repaired much faster. It’s almost impossible to find 10 pound plates probably because the trashy members steal them. The gym cultivates no culture of respect with crowds of members shouting horsing around and slamming weights.

Atrocious! This is the worst gym in the history of fitness!! Such a shame, because the facility itself is actually very nice it's just the maintenance and overall staff that sucks.
One of the only gyms that has a cold dip but for the past month or so has been out of order, ugly yellow piss color and when it was finally cleaned, not even cold anymore, they take forever to fix everything, if at all.
And don't even get me started on the men's bathroom, three days in a row and there was no soap in any of the shower stalls.
The men's bathroom either smells like bleach being shoved up your nose or 50 fat disgusting men farting right in your face, there is no mercy.
I would be so embarrassed to work here, nobody gives a hootenanny whatsoever about anything, completely soulless.

i’ve gone to this gym numerous times throughout the years and this gym makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. So many vulgar folks cursing every turn you make. people laying down on the floor of the sauna ???
it’s not a gym it’s a hang out. Either i wasn’t too aware or it just got worst. Going back to eos…. i rather deal with gen z than whatever they got running.

This particular gym does tend to get busy, particularly during peak hours, but that's quite common for any popular fitness center. If you can manage to time your visits outside of those high-traffic periods, you'll find the environment quite accommodating and less congested.
Regarding the equipment, it generally functions well. There are occasional instances where a machine might be out of order, but these issues are typically resolved promptly. The range of equipment available is impressive, catering to both cardio enthusiasts and those focused on strength training.
The cleanliness of the facility is usually up to par. The staff does a commendable job maintaining a clean environment, which is essential for a pleasant workout experience. While there are moments when the gym gets a bit untidy due to heavy usage, overall, they keep things well-organized and hygienic.
When it comes to service, it's generally quite good. The staff is approachable and willing to assist with any inquiries or concerns. Although there have been a few minor lapses in service, they are infrequent and quickly addressed.

The gym has all the gear you need, but a lot of it is old and busted, especially the treadmills on the second floor. Like 40% of them are out of service or not working right. Sometimes it's a pain to find dumbbells with the right weight because folks don't put them back where they belong.

Incredibly large gym, including any weights and machines you might want, an indoor running track, swimming pool with sauna and hot tubs with jets. We came here on a free 3-day trial which you can sign up for. The really friendly manager came to great us and show us around the facility in person. Would've loved to make use of this gym more! Nothing I can think of to complain about, so definitely recommend here~ ^^

Crazy zoo of a gym in DTLA. Very Mad Max vibes. Super crowded, super dirty. The sauna in there is the craziest stew of human body odor and filth. If u try to cancel membership, they will force you to show up in person and have you wait around until a manager can try and talk u out of it.

I’ve been to several LA Fitness gyms and this one is, by far, my favorite. It’s huge, spacious, the staff is friendly, they have a big lap pool, ice pool (which I’ve grown to love, a big hot sauna, hot pool, 2 floors, a rubberized running track upstairs, every machine to workout every body part, a big room with a big mirror and punching bags, a big stationary bike room, a personal trainer area, showers, lockers, and parking right next to the building, which the gym validates for the first 1 or 2 hours. What more can you ask for? I gave them 4 stars instead of five because I wish they would designate the hot sauna room as a quiet area. Too many regulars that go in there to talk loud, practically shout, about the most stupid, mundane topics, when you should be in there to meditate and relax. They should put a sign outside that says “Keep quiet.” Also, I’m so sick and tired of morons that let machine weights slam down and startle people. I wish the staff made the rounds to educate people on how to take care of the machines. This is why machines get damaged and out of service.

Truly one of the worst gyms I’ve ever been to. Nobody reracks any weights, it is hell finding a dumbbell at the weight you need. You have to walk around searching on the ground. It’s always busy and the machines you need are always occupied. There aren’t sanitation wipe stations except for one upstairs. The cleaning staff throw away anything you leave behind in the locker room, they don’t keep it in a lost and found. It’s just a gross, poorly run gym. I go to the Glendale location nearby my work in the mornings before work even though this one is 4 min from my place.

Unauthorized charge. Lack of customer service. Absolute incompetence. No one knows what's going on. Broken pools, messed up gym area. I will never recommend LA Fitness to anyone.
