Been coming here since i was a little girl, but if you’re thinking of trying it out, just get a take out unless you’re eating in a big group. The workers only pays attention to groups of people and not when you’re solo.I was so hungry and i know they will take a bit time to make my food so i bought a bread thinking they would serve it to me before I receive my food, but they didnt. Instead the party of 2 infront of me that just got here, got their food INSTANTLY (less than 5 mins), they were offered drinks, and were being looked after attentively. I sat there with no drinks, no appetizer, no food for a good 10 mins+. They never update me with my food coming or my drinks. My table was also not cleaned and I had to manually ask them to clean them for me. Horrible horrible service. I dont even want to eat my food anymore because of how horrible the service is. Absolutely disgusting.

In short, go to Qin West Noodle a few restaurants next door.Although this seems to be somewhat of a cheap eats place and is popular with locals, the food is just ok. We only ordered the #4 noodle soup which came with assorted meats: meatballs, braised duck leg, fish cake, squid, shrimp, and a slice of kidney. The taste felt much like a carry out location.Service is fast and kind. The atmosphere is a little dingy.

Food was absolutely delicious, and quite filling. Definitely will come back here again next time I'm in the area.

I ate there once a few months ago, and I suddenly wanted to eat it today. I ordered the same thing. It was not bad, and it was delicious. After I finished eating it, the menu changed.

Highly recommend the Chiu Chow Fish Ball Noodles here. The fish balls here are fresh and bouncy with the right amount of peppery. There’s seating outside of the restaurant in the plaza area, making for a nice people-watching lunch. Also, you can’t beat the price at ~$11 per bowl of noodles! Even with the saturated availability of Chinese/Teochow food in the SGV, I would still make the trek out to Chinatown for Kim Chuy’s fish ball noodles!

I love teo-chow noodle soup. It takes me back to the 90s and early 2000s where I would eat this with the family prior to our Saturday activities. I'd say that Kim Chuy is a neat staple in China Town, given that many of the surrounding restaurants are slowly gentrifying and does not represent modern Chinese dishes unfortunately. If it's your first time, I'd highly recommend any noodle soup. The classic Chaoshan dish, developed in Guangdon Province of the Eastern part of China, is a concoction of egg noodles as a base, with a delicate light broth, seafood, and Chinese vegetables. Portions are generous and the fish balls used are from actual fish, not created from fillers are you see in grocery stores or in some restaurants. This place really hits home, brings back a lot of memories from my childhood. It's a warm, hearty meal that is both light and savory :)

This is by far my favorite hole-in-a-wall and after reading many reviews it's clear that most people don't quite understand that definition. The staff is very amicable andwhile they may not always understand everything, it is clear that they try very hard and have always gotten my order right. My favorite item by far is #55 Beef Caí-Lan Chow Mein. I haven't seen enough rave about this specific order. The meat is super juicy and absolutely delicious which is why this is my favorite hole-in-the-wall in LA. Another few of my favorite items is #78 duck with steamed rice as well the classic Chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce (#42) which is made to perfection each time. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant over any of the new gentrifying restaurants in China Town as the food is absolutely delicious.
