I have been visiting the Day Hospital @Norris for the past six months, and my overall experience has been excellent. The staff and nurses are outstanding and incredibly helpful. The cafeteria downstairs is quite decent. I usually park at the Biggy Parking Lot and take advantage of the patient discounted parking at $10. However, I do wish they had a system similar to the parking across the street at Keck.

Best staff of any hospital I've been to. Very attentive and caring. Became friends with many of the nurses.

We came to visit a family member. Initially we waited around 10 minutes for someone at the security front desk. Finally Diana appeared she was very polite and help us. Thank you to a gentleman (staff member)who was concerned that we were waiting for too long. I couldn’t see his ID. Nevertheless thank you

I fully attribute my dad still being alive and with me to the exceptional care he received at USC Norris. My dad was originally admitted to Palmdale Regional Medical Center who gave him HORRIBLE care and in fact gave him Ativan, which put him to sleep and rendered him in a coma after they let him sleep w/o his bipap machine. He almost died and had to be intubated. I had him transferred to USC Norris and he was in a very bad condition.Within the week of being at USC Norris ICU, they brought my dad BACK from the brink of death. They got him out of his coma, rehabilitated him and nursed him back to health. They were caring for him AND me as the patient's family. They finally (after many many other doctors) properly diagnosed him with b cell lymphoma and paraganglioma. My father's hematologist, Dr. Anil Tulpule, started chemo treatments on my dad and as of February of this year, my dad is lymphoma free.Dad is now home and FAR better off than he was when he was first transferred to USC Norris ICU. We now have ALL my dad's doctor's through USC Norris or Keck. They are the BEST MEDICAL TEAM we have ever had. They take the time, they care, and they are just the best in the business!!

Be very careful when doing your cancer treatment in this place.I talked to Dr. Gino In about medically ending my life. Since they lost control of my care, I didn’t want to go on suffering. He referred me to Dr. Monica Zell assuming we were going to discuss ending my life. When sharing personal things in my life she assumed the worst. I was sent to a mental hospital for 10 days at a place called Aurora in Covina, CA. I was treated badly at that mental hospital which also refused medications and my immunotherapy treatment. All this was to make me look like I was a patient who gave them problems when the doctors aren’t taking responsibilities for their wrongdoing. They screwed up.So, my care was “done” by Dr. Steve Siegel. On paper it stated I chose to seek elsewhere. In our meeting they completely ended all my appointments, all my cancer treatments, all my doctors, and access to getting medications I need for the rest of my life. Everything was cancelled before the meeting so it didn’t make sense talking it out.My records show no indication problems with doctors. It’s just a cover up like with Dr. George Tyndall. And if you go to make a complaint against doctors, that’s how you get kicked out leaving you to fend for yourself looking for help they didn’t give.

I would not recommend anyone go here for anything they do not absolutely need to be seen for. I was referred by my Keck doctor to USC Norris' on-site urologist to go over the results of an ultrasound, which I underwent at a different (non-USC) facility. From the appointment to a major billing blunder, it has been an experience with friction at every possible step of the way. Here's my list of the biggest friction points to keep in mind if you do have to go here (specifically to their urology department) to receive care. 1) Parking is difficult to find. There weren't any signs pointing patients to where they should go. The only nearby parking I found was valet, and from there it was difficult to figure out how to get from the parking garage to the urology department. 2) Wait times were long at the urology department. They kept me waiting for about an hour in the lobby after my scheduled appointment time, and something like 15 minutes once they got me into the back room. I can deal with wait times, but the lack of transparency about the wait time was frustrating and disrespectful. 3) I never actually saw the doctor I came here to see. I saw a very nice physician's assistant who went over my test results with me, which was fine at the time because going over the results was what I came to this clinic for in the first place and they seemed knowledgeable enough. Unfortunately, they still wrote on my medical record that I saw the doctor. Was this a mistake, or a lie? I'm still not sure. 4) the VERY WORST part of this experience: They billed me for a "minor surgery" that I did NOT receive. I was there to go over the results of a test I had done elsewhere. I peed in a cup like you do at any other medical office, but I never saw a doctor and I certainly never had a surgery of any sort at this location. 5) The process for clearing up this billing error was difficult and unnecessarily bureaucratic. I called their customer service department, who does not have access to medical records of any sort. They in turn have to ping the auditing department, who will then take about 10 days to get back to you about whether or not they think you received the services you're being billed for. I received a call back saying that yes, they had determined I DID get this supposed surgery-- and when I asked who I could talk to to clear this up, they told me that the auditing department doesn't speak with patients, and this was their final decision-- so there was nobody I could speak to to clear things up. All this just because someone at their office probably wrote down one of their medical codes incorrectly and their system doesn't allow for enough flexibility to get that fixed. But honestly, with the way they resolve things using their own internal auditing system, they could just lie at every step of the way and force you to pay for services you never received. There is 0 accountability in this system. Dealing with the medical system is always frustrating, especially when you are dealing with a life-threatening health concern like cancer. But my experience here has been uniquely frustrating, and only added to my stress levels.

The absolute worst facility. This program is not run in a way that feels safe or conducive to healing. Absolutely terrible. I’ve almost been given expired chemo, my appointments always take hours longer than necessary, and the communication between staff is almost non existence. Patients are left to run around and try to make things run properly themselves.

Well, do I have a account for you.... I woke up around 4:30 ish and slowly rolled out of my comfy bed stumbled over to my closet and pulled out my bathrobe and wandered to the bathroom and into the shower. Scrub scrub rinse rinse and repeat! Lol I was still a bit sleepy, I opened my closet and pulled out a pair of great old comfortable linen trousers and a great but aged linen blazer. I rushed to the kitchen and popped my 11 prescriptions with a bottle of smart water and noticed on my phone that my ride service was well on its way. I was picked up and good God the freeway is packed! It's 6:30! Why aren't these people in bed where I should be? I pull up to Norris USC and ran inside, my check in was pretty easy and uneventful but professional. I step outside of check in and the phlebotomist assistant was right there waiting for me. Lol I remember commenting... WOW, THIS IS SERVICE. I'm walked into the radiology lab and invited to place my belongings in the little locker. I'm instructed to get up on the "bed" and told to drop my trousers to my knees... (under the warmed blanket) (inside my head I'm cracking up because i'm thinking what kind of date is this turning out to be? No dinner or even dessert? What about a tasty adult beverage? How cheap do I look?) the phlebotomist introduced himself and his assistant.. who was the one who met me outside of check in. I as always asked if they were good with needles ? She remarked that she's not scared of needles anymore... we both laughed. Then I laid back and took a deep breath and relaxed myself. Then I felt a p**** and then a sting. Then she attached the component to introduce the contrast and then she said that my vein "blew up " ... I was like....umm why did that happen? I've never had issues with blood panels or the various iv procedures I have had done right across the way at keck. She began to ask me if I was sensitive to various things and I said no, I have had quite a bit of iv's done since my gastric tumour issues and subsequent gastric resection. The main phlebotomist came in and checked my arm and proceeded to perform the new i.v. implementation. I barely felt a sting and then he attached the contrast and had my arm placed above my head and in I went into the c.t. scan. The moment that infusion began he warned of a warmth going into the arm and throughout my body. I felt a "hot" sensation and that was pretty unnerving. But then I began to feel a tugging sensation "on" my vein in the arm. I tried to ignore it thinking that this was a normal sensation but the discomfort morphed into a throbbing pain and into a stinging pain and it was at this point I wanted help. I began to say ouch! Only speaking it at first but then louder until they came in and began checking my arm and someone called for a warm cloth. They began to comment that my vein protruded. That it was really big. Then they began rubbing my arm and compressing it. Then I remember them saying that the vein was going down. I believe the lead phlebotomist began explaining that my doctor had requested the contrast be implemented quickly and that's what I was feeling. The rushing of the contrast in my vein. I don't know, but when I was able to sit up I didn't feel great. I was somewhat woozy, after I was dressed I walked out and before I stepped outside I sat down in the lobby for a few moments before I made it across the intersection and headed to keck to see dr. Monish Aaron. Well, something good came out of this exercise in pain and discomfort... no tumors were discovered in the kidney's. Merely a cyst and that was a huge unbelievable relief. My arm was throbbing and pretty soar. I have never experienced anything like that before. I have had quite a few procedures involving i.v. and i.v. insertions. When I unwrapped the bandage at home I found bruises. I was surprised, I had always believed that Norris was a celebrated cancer hospital. But, I was left believing otherwise. I felt like I was left to seek medical

Been going here for eight years. I have reaccurring mengiomas, about every five years. My insurance changed two years ago and Norris was no longer in my network. I got referred to ten different doctors who were not qualified to treat me. Their words not mine, luckily in January my insurance changed and Dr. Jason Yee at Keck/Norris saw me in two weeks and after reviewing the MRI CD and in another two weeks scheduled me for gamma knife. He was the only doctor in L.A. qualified and with the correct machine to treat me. I also had a larger tumor that needed the newest tech of the TrueBeam STS that only USC currently has and the staff to run it...here in L.A. Thank you so much!

Been taking someone here for a few months. They rave about the staff. I've gone in with them and yep, everyone is super nice. The doctor listened and wrote notes down, so we didn't have to write them down. She even reviewed her notes, to be sure we understood the plan. Treatment is rough, and made better by the smiles and good attitudes that are abundant. Valet parking is free and there is plenty of parking around the campus. (One less stressor) My friend made a mistake and messed up their port. Instead of a lecture, the staff drew up a plan to fix it. Wow, so nice. They all seem to understand that going here is stressful and that their disposition makes a huge difference. If you end up coming here, I think that you are in good hands. Ask questions and know they are working with you, not on you.

The management in USC Keck towers is poor. Our experience with Norris is below our expectations even through people are very nice. (1) Difficult to reach out to our doctor. Our hematologist Dr. Weitz never reply to patient's messages or calls. Some discussed exams are not done but we're unable to follow up in any way. No direct phone number is available to access our doctor. Employees forward your call, again and again, the staffs are lack of training and always kick the ball to others, no one is responsible for our simple inquiries. Per previous reviews, I just learned we are not the only one having trouble to get doctor responded. (2) Difficult to update our insurance. Our primary and secondary insurances have been always messed up. We called at least seven times to correct that but the system always turns back to the chaos, charging to the incorrect health insurance. Unbelievable. (3) Low efficiency. Norris still sends bills by physical papers not electronically, which is causing delays and uncertainty. It's such an unusual thing for a big health care system to have such a slow revenue cycle. Provider accessibility and billing process are both unfortunately weird.

I had my radiation treatment done here. I wouldn't go anywhere else! They took the best care of me and continue to do so! Have been in remission and intend to stay that way. Thank you Dr. Ye, Danielle and staff! Love you all!
