Bought a set of nylon guitar strings from this place, but realized after getting home that the packaging was already opened. Two strings were missing.

My recent visit to Ihomi left me thoroughly disappointed due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff. From the start, they spoke down to me without understanding my background or needs, particularly when discussing their expensive pricing.
What's worse is the evident contrast in how they treat famous musicians versus working musicians like myself. The preferential treatment and dismissive attitude towards less prominent clients were quite apparent.
During the pricing discussion, their lack of consideration for my budget and pushy sales tactics were off-putting. It's clear that Ihomi prioritizes certain clients over others, which is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their professionalism and inclusivity.
Overall, my experience highlighted the disrespectful treatment and discriminatory practices at Ihomi, making it challenging to recommend their services to others

Absolutely WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had at a music store. Please CONSIDER GUITAR CENTER before coming to this place. I dont usually write reviews but if i can help someone avoid this place then it will be worth it... Manager by the name of CARLOS N. was more useless than tits on a hog and gave the WORST customer service I've EVER received. I had a few items on consignment at this store including a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power supply and they informed me they had to return the Voodoo Lab back to me because it wasn't selling and their Tustin location was shutting down soon (Good Riddance). When i came to pick up the item it was MISSING the power cord and power cables for the pedals. Turns out one of their former employees sold the cables with another item that was completely unrelated. Heres where the wild goose chase and troubles began, instead of simply replacing the cables the manager CARLOS had insisted on "texting" (instead of calling, which is easier and quicker) their former employee who mistakingly sold my Voodoo Lab power cables (along with another item) to one of his friends to see if the former employee could retrieve the cables. I guess CARLOS expected me to sit there and wait as if i had all the time in the world and nothing to do while we wait for a response from their former employee about the cables which never came. After wasting plenty of my time sitting there and watching CARLOS walking around like a useless ape and leaving me in the dark i suggested that i will give him my phone number so he can get back to me when he gets a response. Days pass by (I gave them a weeks time) and i never get a follow up and the store is getting closer to shutting down so i had to keep calling the store to get in contact with CARLOS but that was a useless effort because it was impossible and id be sitting there waiting on the phone for half an hour before i give up and when i left my phone number and a message he NEVER CALLED BACK. So now i had to waste time, energy and gas driving down to the store hoping CARLOS is there so i can follow up with this guy. I get there to the store and managed to find him, so i inquired to see if there was any update so we can resolve the issue. And ONCE AGAIN he wants to "text" their former employee (who never responded in the first place) about the cables instead of simply replacing them or compensating me with the cost. He then leaves me standing there high and dry clueless to whats going on with the situation while he goes to hide in the back. Finally i ran into someone else who looked like another manager and i told him the situation and he was able to replace the cables for me because i told him i was getting frustrated and didn't have the time to keep dealing with this nonsense. What a headache, it was like pulling teeth trying to get the simplest issue resolved and i know other places like Guitar Center would have had this problem solved in minutes. Hope this place goes out of business for good. Picking up my consignment checks for items that sold was another nightmare in itself but ill spare you the details, and guitar work is terrible here from what ive heard. AVOID THIS PLACE!

One of the last mom and pop instrument stores in los angeles. Just like guitar center and its clean enough to eat off the floor. Place is very very clean. Be patient they only have so many people working. Talk with Jesus he helped me get an Arturia 8pre. Also they do lay away as an artist that is sometimes helpful to secure gear fyi. Also good people in this place will be back 100%

I have been buying my gear from Jim’s/ihomi for most of my life and have always been happy with their service and quality. Recently needed a part for my Ludwig drum kit and Gary was super helpful. Support your local music shop!

Went in because they were the only Efnote electronic drum dealer in LA. They had the lowest model set up and half the kit was broken. The salesman could barely speak English and kept staring at me like I was going to stuff a full electronic kit down my pants and walk out the door. What could have been a $5000 sale for them, will now be bought online. Do better.

Walked in and had three employees stare at me the whole time i walked around, uncomfortable but alright. I saw a guitar strap i thought was nice and I asked one of my three spectators if i could try it on a bass, to see how it feels. The guy says no, I ask again in case he misheard me and he says no again. I was so dumbfounded and shocked by this answer that I just put it back and walked out. I will never make the mistake of setting foot there again in my life.

I'll try my best to be balanced with this review... Pros: good selection of instruments and accessories for guitar, drums, bass, synth, etc., reasonable prices, local business (vs. giant conglomerate). Open mic nights are good for the community. Cons: customer service is hit or miss. I had a comically difficult time finding someone to help me with drums the other day. The older gentleman with the ponytail gives off a vibe that he couldn't care less about customers and is too cool for school. The same guy is playing right wing talk radio in the background and spewing conspiratorial talk during his lunch break - a big turn off. Please keep that to yourself! I came for music, not politics. Despite the fact that I've been a regular customer for years and have spent thousands at this store, they've had so much turnover with new ownership that I doubt anyone remembers. I really wish they could do better so that I can continue to have a good local music store to support. Needs to improve its customer service standards, or lose its best customers.

Customer service is overwhelming, pushy, and rude. They complained about just about anything I was doing. Also mislead and told me they had something in stock over the phone when in fact they did not have it. Just to get me in the store to try to buy something else I was not interested in. They also wouldnt let me take photos or video of anything. I will not ever be returning to this store.

Meat was very dry and took food forever. I’ll give it 2 stars for the worker doing the weird dance thing behind the store. I need to leave this state.
