Don't ever let these people convince you that they "specialize in German cars".I was referred to here by another body shop as my Mercedes was in dire need of repair. Tony, the owner, informed me that his original location was in Hollywood, but they had recently opened a shop in East LA, which is closer to me.After speaking with the lot owner/manager at the East LA location, Joe, I felt I was in good hands as he spoke highly of Tony. At the time he had told me the name of his business was "German Auto of Hollywood" and that Tony was established in the industry.First red flag was when I had to fight with Joe the manager in order to get a invoice, which includes the prices he quoted me. Eventually he relented but not without hesitation.After doing some research I realized that "German Auto of Hollywood" was a newly established business, founded in 2022. And after viewing their website to find their Hollywood address, the business listed on Google came up as "Hollywood Auto Repair & Smog". I questioned Tony and he assured me that they were a legitimate business, and to come to their Hollywood location to ease my worries.Then came the management at the East LA location. I had a brief conversation with the assistant manager and asked him for further explanation on the discrepancies. I then had to walk out to take a call, and when I come back the lot owner, Joe is at his desk. The first thing he begins telling me is that he doesn't like when clients begin to question him, or do research on his company because it somehow insinuates that they are "scammers or liars". He then proceeded to kick me out of his lot and walked away, but not before insinuating that my car was a piece of junk, not an investment.I was not rude, I was not condescending, I was simply asking questions about a business I was trusting my vehicle with (which was definitely an investment mind you) and for that I get kicked out of their lot and disrespectedDO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TONY OR JOE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO BUSINESS TRANSPARENCY AND EVEN A SEMBLANCE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. Worst shop experience of my life.I see why they have 3.7 stars.

I'm in loss of words. Besides the horrible customer service from the mechanic, the quality of work done on my car was worse! After taking my car in because of the leaking engine due to their lack of knowledge or carelessness the same exact thing happened again. Oil was gushing out of my engine oil area. This time I had to tow my car into Pepboys. The looked at it and within seconds they said the previous mechanic has 2 filters gaskets rinds instead of one! WHO DOES THAT? Now I'm stuck with a messy driveway and tow fees and of course I had pay again for the 3rd time. Thank you German Auto.

Needed a smog check so I went to this spot, there was only one mechanic in the garage watching videos on his phone, I asked him about getting a smog check and he said they don't offer that her and jus ignored me and kept watching his videos. I told him he should probably change the name of the venue and remove al the smog check signs he had up in the shop. F*** this place.

CAUTION!!! FRAUD!!! I live close to the place where this gas station/car repair is situated. That's why I decided to use the service - NEVER AGAIN! That guys together with the seller from attached small shop made me feel sad for the whole day after I asked them change oil. Honestly I was looking for a mechanic who will able to provide good service for my truck on a constant base, but after using "their help" I don't have such wish anymore. Main complains about them are (just saying the true from own experience): - when you call for agreement with them, manager can hold you hanging on phone for too long - may be that's when you should realize it's better not to mess with them; - they define what parts and consumables to use (if you don't have your's) and for sure they pick not the best: when I was talking about the oil I gave all the parameters of the truck. Manager didn't even ask which kind I used before - NOT PROFESSIONAL. In my case they chose oil which doesn't even for the mark of the vehicle! Totally for changing oil they charged 70$ and didn't even gave a receipt - NO RECEIPTS EVER. I used their service previously asking for changing cooling reservoir. They did it for 60$ considering that I had my own detail. And again - NO RECEIPT! - I was also wondering about issue with the starting engine. I wasn't sure what is the problem. Manager said about the diagnose which will cost 120$. It's just for checking. Can imaging what would it cost to fix it. Even if I would do it - NOT HERE! - the last thing I want mention about is: after their "well service" I decided go somewhere else where I need a mask - nowadays reality. Which apparently I didn't have for the moment. I've entered to the shop asking for it. They released one disposal white mask for 5$. What is unbelievable. And again - NO RECEIPT!!! I don't wish to full the tank and service my car there anymore!

I walked over there this morning because I needed an alternator in my car. I have never been spoken to so rudely in my life. I walked up to a guy sitting in the garage and I said to words to him only to be waved off and to be told to talk to another gentlemen, I walked into the garage and he yelled at me to get out, and asked "what I wanted" I told him and he yelled at me to tow my car there and we will make some calls. Abodslutley the rudest interaction I have experienced. They are the absolute worst do not go there.

conveniently located in the heart of Hollywood, this repair shop (which is attached to a gas station) made me feel like I was being treated fairly. and most importantly they fixed the problem quickly at a fair price. been 3 months since the repairs and I'm still entirely satisfied

I am so happy that Arin has taken back his business and is there for us again. I had gone to him for years before the other dudes, (shady and shifty,) took over. Was so relieved to receive a message saying that he had returned and would be available to provide caring, A-1 service again. He just redid my front and rear brakes and recharged my air conditioner today, and all in a timely and affordable fashion. I hope he prospers for many years.

My car broke down on the way home from LA. I live about an hour away from Hollywood so I was really worried when I had to pull over and see why my car was smoking under the hood. Aaron pulled over in front of me to check out the car and give me a hand. He told me he has a shop near by and that he was willing to assist me with the matter. I was so grateful that he was there to help. He gave me a very fair price (I know because I called MY local mechanic near home and MY mechanic's price was WAY higher.) Aaron took care of the car promptly and a great price. Thank you so much Aaron. I don't care how far your shop is from my home, I will bring all my and my family's cars to Hollywood Auto Repair for all service needs!
