I found Byron and Whitney as I was turning 43 and felt blah. I had a strong weight training background and years of personal training at Equinox, but I had taken some time off and wasn't thrilled to rejoin Equinox. I am so glad I took the leap! Almost 8 months in now, 2 days a week, and I am feeling great and seeing results. I have mainly worked with Byron, however Whitney has trained me a couple times and was my initial contact when I reached out. I was very impressed with the detail that was given to learning about my likes/dislikes/previous training/injuries/eating habits/goals, etc before we started. These two really know what they are doing! (not the case with all trainers). They are focused on form and preventing injuries. The difference I have noticed from my prior training experience is what has made all the difference. I have perfected my form in ways I have never been taught previously! Never did I know my trapezius muscles were working during much of my upper body training, leading to rounded shoulders and tightness. I can now work other parts of my back I was never able to and feel so much better. They teach an awesome home workout to compliment the in person training, which has made a huge difference in my waistline and core strength. They stress rolling out between your workouts, and teach you the correct way to do it! Whitney and Byron have helped me with my diet habits and I've learned great meal prepping tools that I am finally using. They really live what they teach and that has been an inspiration to me too. I highly recommend taking the leap.

If you’re reading this review that probably means you’re trying to find the right trainer for you to achieve your fitness goals - PLEASE stop searching and sign up and Byron and Whitney.Working with them is the first time I have ever seen such great results. In under 3 months I put on close to 9 pounds of lean muscle and saw myself getting so much stronger each session. The workouts and diet are tailor made to specifically who you are and what works for you - and I know that sounds cliche but with this kind of one on one training, it can’t get more personalized. I trained with Byron who is so great to train with but both Whitney and Byron work together to make sure each of their clients is on track to be successful. Such a fun place to work out - they’re funny and caring (and Whitney makes some bomb healthy protein desserts too lol) and they are just really invested in you. If I could, I would work out with them 5 days a week all year round! Hope I can be back in the gym with them soon. Stop thinking and sign up!

Amazing! Thanks to the help of Byron— who not only showed me how to workout, but diet as well, I was able to go from 34% body fat to 20% within a year! Within that year, I gained 11 pounds of muscle and lost about 30 pounds of fat. They make working out feel simple, yet they still manage to keep it challenging and the results show it. Byron and Whitney are amazing trainers, but even better people, and I’d recommend them to anyone trying to get into fitness!

Can't be more grateful to both Byron and Whitney for all they do. I found them on google and Yelp when following through with my 2020 New Years resolution. They have been my personal trainers for ever since. I wouldn't have it any other way. Its beneficial to have a 2 personal trainers that could review your workouts and adjust accordingly. It is a warm and motivating environment!! You HAVE A ONE ON ONE TRAINER FOCUSED ON YOU FOR AN HR!! no excuse only results.It's great to finally find trainers that actually care about their clients. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a trainer.

I’ve been going to trainers for 20+ years - from Dallas to NYC to LA. This is the worst trainer I have ever had. And it’s the first time I have ever left a review. Please please please if you are looking to get in shape, lose weight, etc., go somewhere else.As a result, i gained about 10 pounds of fat that i am now desperately trying to shed. I walked in to this gym lean w abs and just wanted to gain 5 pounds of muscle. I left a total mess and have been struggling ever since.Top Reasons To Never Go- Ate lunch while training me- Took videos instead of spotting me (can’t believe I didn’t get hurt when i dropped the weights bc she wasn’t spotting me)- Was on her phone not paying attention and saying “nice job” as she was prolly scrolling on social media. I once stopped working out and she kept saying “nice job.”- I would show up and she would ask ME what we should train!- She would forget what we were doing in the middle of our workouts and i would have to remind her.There’s a lot more about her over sharing w me about her clients and personal life, but you get it.And when I called her out on all this and said “hey! I need you to show and be prepared to train me,” she agreed, but was late 2 sessions later and back to her awful self.Please look around and find a trainer that knows what they are doing. If you care about your health and your body, don’t go here.

I discovered Byron & Whitney after vigorously searching for top-notch personal trainers in Marina del Rey — and I am SO glad I found them! Within just a few hours after emailing, Byron called me to inquire about my fitness goals and tell me how the program works. At the end of our call, he had me fill out a detailed questionnaire to understand my health history, fitness background, past injuries, eating habits, etc. Unlike most personal trainers, Byron took the time upfront to learn about my body and health habits BEFORE signing me on, which put my anxieties at ease.I spent the next 8+ months working out with Byron 3x week—and it was one of the best investments in my health I’ve ever made. He built a custom workout plan that drove REAL RESULTS. I gained 6.9lbs of muscle, 4” to my chest, and 1.5” to my biceps. I lost 5.9lbs of fat, 2” off my waist, and decreased my body fat by 3.3%. I’ve TRULY never felt more confident in my body.Beyond the programs, Byron is an amazing communicator. He was always on top of scheduling and accommodated my share of last-minute work conflicts. During our sessions, he kept my form in check to ensure I was learning exercises correctly (and safely). He always made me feel comfortable when I had questions or when I couldn’t quite get a certain exercise down.Byron & Whitney have built one of the best personal training gyms in Los Angeles. It’s a welcoming environment for all experience levels with top-notch equipment to reach your fitness goals, from free-weights to Pilates to cardio. Whitney literally has changed my life! She is the sweetest ,kindest, and funniest person I have ever met. I have been a frequent flier at physical therapy, received hip injections, and had three hip surgeries all at the age of 26. Meeting Whitney she not only helped me correct my posture , but she also corrected me in exercises that I was not doing correct before. Because of Whitney, I stand up straight, I am starting to get my core to work, glutes to work, and I am feeling a million times better than several months ago. She has so much patience, especially as I am not a coordinated person. She has not given up on me. :) Even though I do have some hip problems, she is making my road to recovery much easier. This will be the first time in my life, that I am on the road to being in amazing shape!! Now I am not afraid of working out as I learned how to work out muscles, I never worked before. Working with Whitney, has been the best investment I have made on my health.

I was someone that was always in shape but in the last few years I had gained some weight that I just couldn’t lose on my own. I found Whitney through Yelp and decided to give her a try. She is a great trainer because she is not only hands on and detail oriented but genuine and compassionate. Ultimately I am so happy with my choice to work with her and I know you would be too!My journey:She noticed early on that one of my weaknesses was balance. I have always had back pain which was exacerbated by a medication I was taking. We worked around the back pain and she gave me the homework of corrective exercises to practice. So in addition to working out with her two times a week in the gym I would work out with my home/gym routine. By the end of my time with her I definitely noticed that my balance had improved. I also learned how to recognize what would exacerbate back pain and how to manage it.We also spoke a lot about nutrition. One of my concerns was how I could eat healthy with minimal prep and minimal time allocated to cooking. She taught me about the importance of prioritizing vegetables and protein and how I could find grocery options that worked for my lifestyle.Working with Whitney was also life-changing because I realized how impactful exercise could be on my mood. Exercising 5 to 6 times a week greatly improved my mood, which for me was as big of a reward as the weight loss.I will add that you can’t phone it in. You have to do the work and change your mindset in order to see results. PS, must love dogs!Here are my stats from 8 weeks:Bodyfat Lost: 15.896lb 6.9%Muscle Gained: 5.296lbLost 3 inches in both waist + lower abdomen/love handles

In the midst of gym closures and covid outbreaks, I was lucky to have found Whitney and Byron's studio to support my fitness and health goals! From the moment we chatted on the phone and initial call regarding my goals and healthy history, I immediately knew they cared and wanted to ensure there was a good plan for me. I was able to only commit to 2 months due to my move but I got the best results beyond my expectations with my progress, accountability and the overall experience of waking up so early to train. The space is spotless, super clean and felt so private. I was able to really work on my moves and get a lot of things corrected by Whitney who truly cares about long term maintenance and therapy. It was awesome to really find trainers who you can also text any time and provide you with abundance of information needed for you to really lose weight, get stronger and have a great routine with. I highly recommend Whitney and Byron, whether you are a beginner or long time fitness expert. They will go out of their ways to make sure you are comfortable and meeting your goals. I will definitely be back once I am living on the west side again.

A little over a year ago, I discovered Whitney and Byron through Yelp. They offered me a free training session and I immediately clicked with them.It was one of the best decisions I ever made.Over two years ago, I gained a large amount of weight and could not lose it no matter how hard I tried. I felt terribly insecure and overwhelmed trying to navigate fitness alone. Working with Whitney changed everything and in a healthy fashion. I not only lost weight but built muscle. I got stronger and my endurance has become the best it has ever been. I used to struggle in high-cardio workout classes and now I do them without issue. I was the least athletic person in my family and after working with Whitney, I could out-ski them on our winter vacation.Physically - I have improved considerably. I dropped 40.1 lbs going from 182.4 to 142.3. I went from 36.10% body fat to a much healthier 23.60%. I lost considerable inches in every part of my body. I went from having to order the biggest size in a bridesmaid's dress for my cousin's wedding to slipping into a size 6 nearly a year later. My heartburn has also disappeared.The mental relief has been another welcome side-effect of working with Whitney. I have my confidence back. I can fit into all the old clothing that I had given up on. I can push myself to go further and lift more. It's not just a physical weight loss, but a mental relief.Whitney had always been available for me if I have a question regarding nutrition when I'm meal planning. She is filled with solid information regarding the right workout shoes, workout clothes, vitamins, protein powders, etc.I have developed good eating habits and a doable exercise regime. Whitney was adamant about not crash dieting and as a result, I feel like I won't just gain back the weight I lost. I never once felt hungry while listening to her tips. I have been able to enjoy a cheat meal on the weekends or on vacation without the fear that I will binge. The most important part about working with Fitness and Fuel is that Whitney and Byron are completely invested in your transformation. They want you to succeed and they want it to last. They have taught me a new way of living.

AMAZING, SAFE, 1x1 PERSONAL TRAINING COMBO PHYSICAL THERAPY COMBO. I have seen many physical therapist and personal trainers and by far Byron and Whitney are the best! Saw crazy results in just 1 month. Highly recommend.
