This is an amazing neighborhood hardware store! I take care of a relatives house that is just a few blocks away and built just a few years after Emil's went into business. There has not been anything that I needed for a repair project that I could not find at Emil's. This includes parts for plumbing, electrical, or hardware such as hinges and door knobs. Thet have a wide variety of drill bits, hand tools, saw blades and more. The prices are slightly higher than the large box stores, but the convenience and gas savings is well worth going to Emil's.

I can't complain about lowes but I can complain about the product they sell and I'm telling you DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON HISENSE the brand they have lousy products after a year they die out and their customer service sucks. They don't help at all their warranty is bullshit. If you looked at the reviews under their corporate office, everybody gave it a one star take my word do not purchase any of there products. Specially, the refrigerators the worst ever I wouldn't even give it on one star if I could.

Went in to purchase a new refrigerator this evening and trouble with using their store card for credit. They had trouble with their computers and waisted about hour of my time. I ended up going to Home Depot, took 10 minutes and I was out all good and I saved $150 and used their store card without any trouble at all. Also a lady in their customer service department was very rude. Wont go back.

Today we had the pleasure of Michael assisting us with our key problems. He was polite, extremely patient, and knew exactly what we needed. Further- more, he didn't try to "upsell" us with more expensive or additional products. I've been an occasional, and very happy, Emile's customer for over 40 years!

I've been going to Emil's for several years, and have recommended them to everyone because i found it to be a convenient, family owned business, which I normally like to support. I will No longer do that. I bought a 29.00 thermostat, had my electrician install it, and it didn't work. I came the very next day with my receipt to exchange it for a 60.00 thermostat. The owner, who I hadn't dealt with before, was rude, and insisted that he does not take electronics back, and that he has a sign--make sure to look for the torn piece of paper covered with price tags, and with merchandise in front of it!!!! No body said anything at the time of purchase, and I told him it didn't work. He just continued to repeat that once installed, he won't take it back. How in the world would you know it doesn't work, unless it was installed! Not only did he lose a 60.00 sale in place of a 30.00 sale, but he lost my business completely, and I will not be referring any business their way. It is very clear he does not like what he does. I have no doubt that the way he spoke to me, is the way he speaks to everyone. Choose a better place for your hardware needs!!!

First of all, to all the people who have left negative reviews about the service here, lighten UP! These guys are like characters from a TV show. They’re gruff, not rude. Be entertained, not offended. Sorry but L.A. people are too thin skinned. The people here are super knowledgable and helpful, just DON’T waste their time. I’m guessing they all come from east coast families. ?This store has everything, including every nut, bolt, or screw you can think of and they’re open stock. You can buy just one at a time - not ten in a package like you have to at Home Depot or Lowe’s. They even have a small parking lot in the back.

I’m new to the neighborhood and I try to support smaller businesses when I can but this place has terrible customer service. I showed up 10 minutes before they closed. Was in the process of grabbing items when we were told “don’t take forever we’re closed” it was still 5:25 at the time. Would have spent over $100 easily and they couldn’t wait 10 minutes. Definitely won’t be back.

Don’t come here if you can avoid it. Rude staff. I showed up at 5:20pm to buy around $100 in materials for a project I’m working on. My visit wouldn’t have taken more than 15 min. They close at 5:30pm so yes I was cutting it close but was immediately met with someone asking “are you going to take forever? because we are about to close”. The cashier then said I had to leave. Wanted to support this small business but won’t be coming back here.
