If I could give a 0 star, I would. This used be one of my favorite bakeries in East LA. The bread was delicious, fluffy and fresh. Sadly, it has recently gone downhill. First off, I understand that prices are high and the cost of ingredients are soaring but the price of the bread should reflect the quality and size. However, it's over priced and horrible. I went in to buy some bread. The empanadas are flat, hard, tasteless, and they're decreasing in size. Secondly, the employees (the newer ones) are rude and seem annoyed that you're there. And lastly, I just feel that this place has just deteriorated taste-wise. The breads are small and cost triple the price than other bread stores. The owner is sarcastic and doesn't care about customer satisfaction or the quality of his products. Hopefully, in the near future, there will be significant change. For now, I won't be going back.

Getting to the bottom of this "chocolate chip" muffin and finally running into a scatter of chocolate chips... this was one of my favorite selections but they've must have gotten a new baker because this is what I've been getting for a while now. Disappointing.

Great products, but terribly managed. The service is slow and unorganized. They are always out of things. It’s a busy Saturday morning, and the line is out the door. I ask if there is Cafe de Olla, and they say, “no, someone just left to make some more.” Is that not something you should anticipate on a busy weekend?

Best pan dulce in LA! Great quality and customer service has kept my family coming here for decades. It's a holiday staple and a year round treat.

Pan de agua and cuerno de mantequilla were good. Rest of the very expensive bread that we bought was very dry. Definitely was not fresh!

Happy I found this local bakery! The bread is usually soft and fresh. The cafe de olla and champurrado are always warm and perfect for early mornings. Not to mention, the tamales are decently priced and very filling. As a Latina, I always put salsa on my tamales, so it sucks that sometimes they're willing to give you a salsa with the tamales purchase and others they say "no, only burritos". It really depends on who helps ring you up. Unfortunately, my tamales were very dry this time. Something that seemed strange to me is the cups sizing they use. I asked for a median champurrado, was charged $4, and received the 12oz cup pictured. Technically this is a small, but they only sell "medium" and large. P.S. Early mornings can get really busy, but it's worth the wait. The line moves fast

I've been A faithful customer to this establoshment for many years. Along with my family and friends, I do not recommend it. The staff are very rude and the champurado was rancid. I wanted my money back. They refused to refund me my money and I will not Be returning here again. I do not recommend this place. Do not waste your money or your time go to another bakery. La mascota bakery in Boyle heights on whittier boulevard is very good and their customer service is excellent.

Don't waist your time, the pan was blah and the champurrado tasted like what I would think bathroom cleaner tastes like. How does someone fk up champurrado so bad. I immediately took both full cups back to get a refund (I paid cash) and Maria refused to refund anything and then contacted the Supervisor in which she wouldn't give her name; so they exchanged it for coke instead. Crappy service and food
