First time tattoo experience was great one! Justine was everything I needed as a first timer. I, loved the atmosphere. It was so relaxed unlike the hundreds of shops I walked into. From the start I was welcomed. Everything was clean and so private which is a great plus. I loved the colors options, and the fact that the ink is vegan is even better! Less toxins and chemicals. I love my tattoo. She did great job. I will be back if I am in the market to get another one. Thank you. I will recommend.

I just got my tattoo done at Earth Altar Studio yesterday by the artist Siobhan and I love it! Everyone there was super kind and excited to be doing their craft. The studio was clean and welcoming. They take aftercare seriously and ask if you have any questions. My tattoo turned out exactly as it was meant to and is so perfect. There's so much good to say about this place! I've gotten both my tattoos done by Mari, who I'm convinced can see into my mind and knows exactly what I'm looking for and what I want every time. In love with Earth Altar, so much so that I booked a flight from Boston to LA just to get a tattoo here. Every member of the staff was incredible, from first impressions to check-in to the actual tattooing process itself. My tattoo artist, Siobhan, was kind, attentive and incredibly talented, could not be happier with how the piece turned out. I found Earth Altar by basically driving by, so I didn't really know what to expect. From the time I reached out to them until the completion of the work they were nothing but professional, they were clean, meticulous, safe, and just awesome real people. Siobhan was the talented artist to completed my tattoo. He's a great artist and as he worked with me to make my idea stronger and last longer in ink, he proved he is a great collaborator. I appreciate all of the staff at Earth Altar and would recommend to anyone.

Calling all earthlings: make your way to Earth Altar for your next tattoo, ASAP! I got my most recent piece here just a few hours ago and I'm already ready to sing their praises! I'd been wanting a new piece for awhile, but hadn't found the right artist to execute. While I already had some pieces, I didn't think the artists who did that work had the style I needed. I found Mari's work through Instagram and was so impressed that I reached out to her almost immediately! The booking request form is really thorough and it even asks for your pronouns, which I really appreciate! Mari responded to my email quickly and it was immediately clear that she understood precisely what I wanted and how to execute. She was also transparent about pricing, which I deeply appreciated. I reached out to the shop over the holidays so it took a little while to hear back for scheduling, but I love that the studio gave staff time to rest and recuperate! Red helped get me scheduled and was very communicative about the shop's requirements and policies. The deposit process was quick and easy as well. Each artist has their own deposit cost, but the process is all the same. The studio is in Eagle Rock on Colorado. I didn't park on Colorado since I wasn't sure exactly how long my appointment would take; luckily there's plenty of parking in the neighborhood's side streets. The shop is hidden from the outside, which I appreciated because it afforded me a sense of privacy. I rang the doorbell and Emma at the front desk greeted me so warmly. When I walked in, I was struck by how bright, clean, and inviting the space was--it felt so comfortable, especially since I knew I'd be there for awhile. I took a seat and Emma sent me the shop's consent form. The form was super detailed, even including info about covid, and I am so grateful that they ask clients whether or not they're ok with their piece being shared. After completing the form, I waited a bit and Mari came over to share what she had come up with based on our conversation. She had several different sketches and I loved each one, so it was actually difficult to narrow it down, but I asked for her opinion and she helped me made a decision. We discussed sizing and placement, and she went to prep things. From there, she applied the stencil and we got right to work! Mari has such a sweet, gentle bedside manner. She checked in on me frequently and offered plenty of opportunities to take a break (though, thankfully, I didn't need to). She's a joy to chat with and I loved learning more about how she views the world. One thing she shared with me is that she originally was just working at the front desk, but the owner took her under her wing and gave her the opportunity to learn tattooing. I feel that story speaks volumes about the type of shop that Earth Altar is and how they do business. I also loved the wall of her station because it not only showcased her tattoo work but her overall personality. I felt so comfortable and safe with Mari, and in no way did I feel like she was rushing to get the piece done. When getting a tattoo, it's always a balance between getting the piece done quickly to make sure you're not in pain and taking the appropriate amount of time to ensure the details look good. Mari found that balance so effortlessly that it's hard to believe she hasn't been doing this for her entire life! The piece itself came out beautifully and I feel that she really honored all the things that I was looking for. Her pricing was very reasonable and she shared with me that it's important that she be as accessible as possible without compromising her own needs or boundaries; that approach really resonated with me and I'm glad our values aligned. Once the piece was done, Mari made sure to share aftercare info with me and bandage me up. I appreciate that she gave me the rundown--even though I already have a few pieces, I think it's still important to share that info anyway, to cover the bases. From there

I saw Emma at Earth Altar Studio this week for a tattoo and had a wonderful experience. There was clear communication from her and the studio from the time of making the appointment through the end. If you are looking for the BEST tattoo experience in the LA area, look no further! Earth Altar Studio has got to be the best. Hands down. I've spent many hours here and am always sad to leave! You are warmly greeted by Emma at the front each time as she checks you in and prepares any paperwork. It's all done on a tablet and is super convenient. The vibe of the studio is so calming, cool and friendly. Everything is clean, professional and dare I say, cute? Well, it is. SO cute. I have had the privilege of getting pieces done by Mari, Jessie and Emma T! Each one is such a unique and talented artist. Be sure to follow them on IG and follow each artist as well. The best way to book an appointment would be to follow along, see when they open their books and then send in an email booking form. Emma at the front will get back to you and coordinate everything!

I'm honestly obsessed with Earth Altar! Yesterday was my first time as a client of the shop. It was super easy to navigate to. There was plenty of free street parking on the side streets. I rang the doorbell and was immediately greeted by Emma D. who was just a ray of sunshine. I didn't have to wait long before meeting my tattoo artist, Emma T. They were such a kind and gentle soul! I felt so at ease and comfortable. Of course their artistry is absolutely STUNNING. I was shook seeing the completed tattoo. Go check out their IG for more gorgeous examples! They were so attentive and considerate - consistently checking in and addressing any possible client needs. I really have to commend Emma T. on their exceptional communication skills. It felt like such a smooth and easy process through the ~ 5 hr session. We were able to both take snack breaks half way through. The studio has a lovely outdoor patio to relax in. The facility itself was super clean and cozy. I really enjoyed the communal atmosphere of everyone getting tattooed/tattooing together - however there are curtains around each artist's station for extra privacy. Emma offered to pull the curtains around me since I was partially topless for a back piece - which was really sweet. In terms of the shop as whole, this is such a well run shop - with the perfect balance of warm interpersonal skills and professionalism. Communication via email for appointments/bookings was so streamlined and easy. Prices and rates were addressed clearly ahead of time. I never felt unsure or confused about any of the logistics. In addition, I'm pretty intentional about commissioning femme artists for my body art works and being in a safe space for such an intensive process such as getting a tattoo. I feel like Earth Altar really aligns with my intentions and personal values. I could feel the positive energy radiating from not only the staff but the physical studio itself. It definitely succeeds at being an inclusive and safe space for all. I'm excited to return for future tattoo projects!

I got my very first tattoo done here by Jessie after the shop was recommended to me by a friend- my experience was absolutely wonderful! Emma at the front desk was so kind and helpful reassuring me when I was nervous, and Jessie did an incredible job on my tattoo, I'm so so happy with it I think it's absolutely perfect. I've already gotten tons of compliments on it and it's only been 2 days! I'll definitely be coming back here to Jessie for future tattoos. Earth Alter Studio is the best, the vibes here are so lovely and welcoming, very witchy and girly which I loved. 100/10!
