I’ll take any of my denim to be hemmed or repaired here. They do great work. Seeing all the old machines inside makes me want to learn how to do it myself!

I was almost dissuaded by all the reviews claiming they waited several months. Just wanted to say I received a text that my order was ready a few days after I dropped it off. Jared’s work is very nice and he provided several options for how the tailoring could be done.

Worth the wait. This shop know jeans and can bring your favorites back with repairs that add years to worn out denim. TMainly I appreciated their attention to detail on hemming jeans while keeping the original weathered look.

Found out about this spot because of Snake Oil Provisions in HLP... This is where they take all the jeans you buy from them to get hemmed. I'm such a fan of this place... Dude that runs it is super kind... Ultra accommodating. They have dope stuff in there to buy also... Lots of vintage gear. I copped a rug made from denim scraps from there recently when I went in to get a hemm done & some jeans repaired. If you care about your gear & want to keep it around a while .. take your stuff here. PS my man needs help BADLY. So I hope you don't need your ish in a hurry... If you know someone who's killer with a needle & thread please refer them. That is all.

I did him the favor of taking my jeans back because he couldn’t get them done in 3 months. I went back about 4 times to pick them up . Besides his rate is $70 dollars an hour.He also screwed up my vintage Levi shorts ( did a really lousy uneven and rushed job ) and wouldn’t fix them or give me any credit. after all that he told me he’s not ganna make me happy. Really don’t see how his work has any value and am unimpressed by the quality of it too.

Just a prize of a little shop, on York in Highland Park-the owner Jared, is a visionary, did beautiful work resurrecting (literally) my poor, much-loved jeans, and delivered in a cheerful and timely fashion! Also a sweet rnge of pre-owned treasures on the rack...great find!

This guy is a pro at fixing denim and in the past he's done great work for me. Unfortunately all the reviews about the mindnumbingly slow service are true. He has had some of my denim for MONTHS and it's still not repaired, even when we tells me it will be done the next week/next day. It's a huge bummer bc he's a nice guy with a love for denim but he's unable to run a business.

My partner came here to have her items altered for a special occasion. We visited on 6/13 (see date on the ticket). She gave specific information on when she needed the items by (before Friday 6/24) and on the ticket he notes that it would be ready the prior day (Thursday 6/23). The following week we're awaiting a call on Thursday for pickup--no call. At this point we're nervous bc we have an event on the Westside Friday 6/24 in the afternoon (and mind you if you're an LA native that commute is no joke) and especially nerve wracking if we don't have a status on attire. So I call Friday afternoon when they open at 12pm on behalf of my partner reasonably upset and tell him he lied bc essentially they are closed on Thursday (see screenshot) and we have a ticket showing that's the pickup date. He's flustered and musters up that it would be ready in 2 hours; mind you our event is at 4pm on the Westside so cutting it pretty close. I come to the shop and pick up the items and he has a cheeky grin --no apology--and says "Yeah we're closed on Thursday ". The items were decently tailored but will definitely not be returning bc he has no respect for his patrons and put us though unnecessary stress. FYI the owner is white and we're POC so I guess it's on us for thinking we would be treated w decency. Never again.

Update 10/9/2021 - Was contacted from owner and I have pick up my pants. Work is well done. Don't know what happened with the communication but the end result is good. Updating the review the review score. Went to the shop on 5/12/2021; dropped off some pants to get altered. Paid in full upfront and quoted 4 weeks as he was very busy. 6 weeks later I text to follow up as I have not heard anything. The reply is that he is very behind but that he will let me know when my pants are ready. No follow up since, ignores my messages and the shop seems closed whenever I stop by. I will be leaving a BBB complaint.

Seriously, don’t bother unless you enjoy being ignored and lied to. Ultimately, he had my jeans for three months, never touched them, seemed clear that could have gone on infinitely. I finally canceled my order. He claimed to be overwhelmed with orders but was never working on any in the four times I was actually in the shop…?

He does incredible quality work. I was actually blown away by how good my favorite vintage Levi’s looked. Do not expect to have your pants done quickly, but it is def worth the wait. All good things require patience. You will not find a place that does better repairs.

Jared was quick and easy to communicate with - he repaired and tailored several pairs of jeans and pants for a super reasonable price and it only took two weeks. Several months later and the durability/craftsmanship is apparent. Also has lots of great vintage stuff for sale in a beautiful workshop.

How on earth had I not reviewed Double Needle? I've been a fan since the old location. Jared and team have consistently come through with denim repair and alterations done to perfection. They even hand-repaired an ailing Dries Van Noten tank top for me.I can always count on Double Needle to have the knowledge and skillset to do things right, with extreme patience and to such a degree of precision that a true denim head would cosign. I even think that their repairs add value to worn and loved jeans. So if your jeans need some love: a fitting, a patch, a flourish...definitely give Jared and crew at Double Needle a try. They are fantastic.

I DMed Double Needle on Instagram to confirm hours, price, and see how long an alteration would take, and I got a response in about 10 minutes. I went in and Trevor was there to help immediately. I brought 2 pants to be altered, and one pair to fix a blown out crotch. He measured me up, helping to tailor each pant to the shoes I wanted them to most often go with. I asked him how long it would take and he told me ready on Tuesday, but the fixing the crotch ones might take a little longer. All 3 were ready on Tuesday. Exactly as he promised. The shop is super cute and I'll def go back there next time I need something altered or even for a little shopping. Original hems done well!
