We visited in mid February 2024 and it was an awesome experience. We've decided for 2024 onward, to start experiencing more classy and upscale events. This fits the bill.I've passed the Music Center hundreds of times and always appreciated what I've seen. People, well dressed, experiencing live music or performances. I've always enjoyed live theatre and now I can say that I will be a part of it from here on out. FYI, this whole complex comprises four large venues including the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Ahmanson Theatre and the Mark taper Forum. All of these facilities are within this giant complex. whatever your forte, you can generally find some type of entertainment to strike your fancy. My wife and I dressed up and headed down to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on a Saturday. We saw The Rite of Spring and Common Ground. It was every bit as good, if not better than reviews that we read online. I think it's fair to say that live theatre is generally good, but this performance along with the classical music made for an unforgettable experience. Although I don't believe it was the case, the music sounded just like a live orchestra. Perfect sound to go along with the performances. Even before we left, we decided that we would be regulars at various events held at the Music Center. This is a classy event so we dressed the part and so did others in attendance. As such, you can expect for a well mannered crowd and it certainly was. I can't say this enough. This is a cultured event so be prepared for a memorable performance that will make a lasting impression. This event certainly did. At such a cultured event, one would expect the employees to be top notch and that's exactly what we experienced. Employees were positive, courteous and well mannered. A huge shout out to those hard working employees interacting with thousands of people. If you have an appreciation for Mid-Century Modern, you will appreciate the pavilion and it's architecture even more. This is coming from someone who appreciates all things Mid-Century Modern. The building and interior appointments are awesome. If you like such buildings, you will not be disappointed. This is a grand and historical building which further adds to the overall experience. An early 1960's Mid-Century Modern building and an awesome performance equals one awesome experience. If you are into live theatre or cultural events, make plans to visit the Music Center. There's a ton of events at this mega complex. For those new to the area, the Music Center parking is just north of the complex on the west side of the street, below ground. Be prepared for a line of cars as they make their way into the parking below street level. Be patient and be assured that the line moves quickly. experience. This is a solid 5 star and highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Beautiful space especially for Christmas. We saw the Last Dream of Frida and Diego. It was awesome. The sets were amazing as well as the costumes. Food and drinks kinda pricy but captive audience for the intermission. Ourdoor space was great and decorated for Christmas as well.

Cannot say enough about the beauty of the venue and the dedication of the staff! Top-notch!! If you're looking for an upscale place to enjoy a nice outing, go to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Excellent photo opportunities also. Stunning venue. Parking is convenient in the garage.Once you go one time, you will want to go back again and again. It's lovely.

This place was easy to get to despite the regular Downtown LA traffic. Once you get off the Fwy your only a few blocks away and the parking garage is right next door to the Pavillion. Really easy to get in and out of there. They have handicap parking but make sure to get there early to get a good spot. My husband and I went on a date to go see Mozarts Opera Don Giovanni. I must say hands down the best and most beautiful experience we have ever had! From the story to the acting to the singing especially!! Oh my goodness!! The most beautiful thing we have ever heard! It was emotional and breathtaking to say the least! We loved every minute of it!! Everyone should at least go see an Opera at least once in there life, it's an experience you never want to miss! When we got there as you can see in my pictures, the place is beautifully decorated and very spacious. They have guides to help you around to find your seats, bathrooms etc. They are very handicap friendly there and are very accommodating to people with special needs or handicap, that's what I liked alot about it there. They had plenty of bars and snacks for everyone although we didn't buy any there so we can't say if the drinks or snacks were good or not I'm sure they were. Another highlight of this place is before the Opera starts, about an hour before, the music Maestro talks about the Opera, how the composer came to the idea of writing the Opera and explains the story behind it and the history of it, plays pieces of the composed music and breaks it down, very informative we loved this part of the experience as well! Everything about this place, the Opera and the experience was amazing. Will definitely come back here again for another Opera. Highly recommend!

Of course what can you say other than this is an absolutely stunning venue. Be sure to come early as parking becomes even more crazy nearer to performance time. But this venue with its expansive walls and spectacular decor brings memories of past elegance and charm. It may not be Broadway but you can not go wrong with this choice

Beautiful venue for operas and operas. The supertitles were clear and the place was very clean. Even though we were seated very high up for our matinee of the Barber of Seville, we had a good view of the stage. My specific seat was a bit obscured by the railing but that made my ticket cheaper, so I was cool with it. Parking is $10 all day on weekends and in the evenings in the garage, or you can try to find metered spots. Theres a courtyard with tables outside of the venue so you can have a little picnic or opt to eat at one of the many nearby restaurants. Ushers are nice. Bathrooms are available only on stage right at the top floor. There were elevator banks but most people took the stairs. You can preorder food and drinks for intermission. Seats were a bit narrow but still comfortable.

There are plays put on, where the main goal is to put on a show, despite the tough economic times. There are other venues, but I enjoy the way this center and all around, looks at night. The Parking was $10 for the opera that I was watching.Once I parked, it took me around 5 minutes or so, to get to the front of the building.I did not see a food vendor open during the time that I went. I did see a water fountain and bathrooms on the floor, where we entered to watch the performance.I drove here, from outside of DTLA, on this evening, my gps took me through some side streets, but the drive was not too bad, despite rush hour and part of the 10 freeway being closed.
