Incredible shop! Words can only begin to describe the selection and the whole feel of the place! Like going back in time to a secret hideaway of beautiful antiques and all!

Nasty, rude owner. How do places like this stay in business?? If you like to be overcharged and continually insulted while trying to purchase a lamp - this is the place! We couldn't take the arrogance so went a couple blocks and found 2 beautiful lamps! You lost a sale of $2,400.

Need a beautiful chandelier or cool table lamp? Something odd, antique, or rustic? This is the place.

I had a stone statue I bought that was from the late 1800's for $700 appraised and it was worthless, a fake designed to look old. When I wrote the owner, my email was never answered. The selection is great here but I would never trust buying from them again.

Zero if that is the worst rating I could give any merchant. Fredric is deceitful, dishonest and a rude bully. He misrepresented the manufacturer of a light fixture and also modified the fixture...drilled holes to let out heat from bulbs. Not standard code. He told me that once I put up the fixture you would not be able to see the wholes. After terrible exchange of emails and requests for a return and credit ..I finally contacted my credit card company and was made whole. Do not go to this merchant!!!!! In some of the emails he called me self absorbed, and a narcissist...only because I wanted what was represented to me I only posted a star to get this rating on Yelp

I needed a couple of lampshades for a pair of old table lamps and I'd already been to LampsPlus, where they had a horrible selection, and to City Lights, where they had no lampshades at all. I was discouraged.

Cool little flea market at the fairfax highschool. I sometimes come here just to see what people are selling and I also like the atmosphere. Get here early so you don't have to wait in line to get in. The lines arent that long so dont worry if you dont come early.

I walked into Dispela a couple days ago looking for a staple piece for my bedroom. Excited that stores in my area are re-opening slowly. I simply asked (assuming the store owner) if he had ottomans and he looked at me paused, and said "it's going to be expensive" not knowing who I am, my budget etc. Giving the current climate of our nation, you would think that people would be more cognizant of how you treat customers of all races and colors. Not judging if they can "afford" your furniture. Very very sad. Felt like the 60's. Shameful

Dispela has an incredible selection of antique lighting fixtures. Some of the most beautiful pieces you'll ever see.

I walked by last week after eating breakfast at Republique and they are gone. The sign is still up but the store is empty. You could find one of a kind furniture pieces. I love going inside to see the treasures they found. The mix across the street is really nice.

We bought a beautiful chandelier from Frederick. They have a nice selection and you won't feel pressured. Allen will completely rewire your lamp so the only thing you have to do is put it up. It was a nice experience buying our beautiful 1940's chandelier!!

Hours on the door say they close at 5:30. A little before 5, i enter and start to peruse hoping to find some nice artwork. i'm seen by an employee and not greeted, which is fine. once i'm in the back of the store that same guy comes up to me and starts turning off lamps and says "we are closing" in no real direction at all. no "are you finding everything okay, is there anything you'd like info on," nothing. just "we are closing." so rude. so i said "k" and walked out.

Wow, a huge selection of vintage light fixtures and more. The quality and selection is outstanding. Frederic is a pleasure to deal with and will accommodate his customers in every possible way. We have a Spanish home built in 1924 and are currently remodeling our kitchen. Dispela had so many options for sconces it was difficult to choose. Gorgeous items and great service; would highly recommend.
