I'm just messing. LOL. I only wrote that review to see what kinda comeback burn she would come up with. That IHOP one was good! But it didn't make me laugh as hard as " another reason not to live in San Diego" comment on that other review ?. This is such a cool bookstore. Its got a cool vibe and layout. Pretty nice selection of books. Well done, well...done.

What a cute and perfectly curated little book shop! I love to see such a wide range of genres but not be overwhelmed in my selection. Highly recommend for your next and future reads!

Love this shoppe. It's small but so well curated it's all it needs to be. The owner is well read and articulate and can point you toward whatever you're feeling. The art books are unique and amazing; no ubiquitous Tom Ford coffee table book here! I've actually bought a couple pieces of art from the rotating selection. The art is varied and always fun to see what's being shown.

The bookstore is a well-curated gallery of selections that is themed by the owner. It is reflective of the quirky neighborhood that the store sits in and of a mind that loves to read.During my visit there were fiction pieces on the left, poetry in the back, and some books on presley in the front. I imagine the stock rotates regularly with whatever is vogue to the owner. The proprietor also took some to share the history of the store, which started as a small printing publishing shop in NY.

This is the coolest bookstore in LA. All of the books are specially curated by the owner, so they have the best of every genre. Such a cool space with rotating artwork and awesome events frequently. Highly recommend.

drove nearly 4 hours from San Diego on a Friday to see the Daniel Johnston artwork they have on display. Arrived just before 5:30 and the shop was locked and dark. Posted times online and on their front door read Tuesday-Sunday 10-6 Checked their Instagram before heading out and there was no mention closing early.

way more than your average bookstore. owner has a great eye, cool style and uses the space like a gallery to showcase work from various artists. her ig content is a fun cross section of film art music & fashion references. like IDEA books uk - a plug into various art/design scenes and zeitgeist pulse. dial into this echo park gem !

Bought books here a few times until the owner gave me a tote bag because she assumed I was a buyer of books, but I couldn’t actually read so many. Great selection, but there’s no way I’m spending my money there.

I live in the hood and finally wandered in here expecting more books. This place is like, two chest-high shelves stocked with lit-themed books. Are they good? Meh? If they were hand-picked there are no shelf talkers explaining why. No sense of discovery, or breadth for exploration. Decor feels like you wandered into the waiting room of a hair salon without the hair salon. Des pair of shelves: "Psh, you've never heard of this author?" If I haven't, I still haven't after leaving. Random magazines and some books on "punk" to lend street cred, I guess. One star for each shelf and have an extra star because book store (technically).

I've read great reviews in various publications about Des Pair, a new bookstore in Echo Park area. As a book worm, I have to check out any new bookstore in town so I was eager to find myself in that part of town to swing by. Des Pair is on the smaller side, it has some art hanging around, they exhibit some around which is nice. The book selection isn't huge, mostly new releases, art and film books. Prices on the higher side. They organize events here as well. Check their social media for that! Street parking around. Open from Tuesday-Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. If you live in the area,it is a great place to frequent. Personally, I think LA has better bookstores with a wider selection, but I am happy new ones are popping up!
