Really terrible place to eat. They have no concern for sanitation and their food made me sick. Never eat here.

Live in the neighborhood. Wanted to support a new business. Stopped in for food to go - this was $26. Didn't check the bag before I left, otherwise I would have asked for my $ back. Insane.

Food is great. I had the branzino and squash soup. From the refrigerated section I love the pesto pasta and the salmon. Their chocolate selection is great. Cookies and macaroons are phenomenal. Coffee also really good. I've had no issue with the service. Sometimes if 5 ppl walk in at once and all order coffee, there's a delay. The employees manning the registers are also making the coffee. Maybe having a designated coffee person would help. Also, I wish they would sell slices or a half of their delicious focaccia bread - you taste the peppery freshness of their great quality olive oil on that bread. I've gotten it couple times but always end up throwing half away bc it's way too large.

So I love Cookbook at their other locations. This Cookbook is messy.1. Prices are so high it's laughable. Like the breakfast was a third of a slice of bread and one egg. Hilariously bad.2. A Cappuccino is around 8 dollars and a latte is like 10 dollars with oat milk.3. Today there were like 3 people there and it took 30 mins to get my coffee. I finally had to say something and the staff did not seem to care, did not apologize. Management should look into this and train a bit. 2/20 at 8:30 AM staff.

Nice curation of local produce, wine, cheeses, upscale pantry and other food products, and a lot of pre-prepared cooler foods. Solid selection of baked goods when they don't run out. Incredibly overpriced and mediocre coffee -- $7 for a latte with half steamed milk. Food quality is good, but generally quite overpriced. Environment is not welcoming either. Employees seem visibly glazed over & stressed out. Quite a contrast to the other locations which seem much more of a community-vibe. Also very suspicious that they don't accept tips, even though these employees were providing us table service. Living in the area I want to come here more, but for lack of a better descriptor, the vibes are off!

I will never patronize an establishment that treats its employees as badly as I have heard this place does.

I love this place but the to go staff were incredible rude and almost seemed high. Almost felt like they were trying to gaslight us by blatantly ignoring coffee orders and then bringing gas back cold coffees and pretending it was hot. Very bizarre, and made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.

I want to update and write that Cookbook's actions last month were beyond inexcusable. That isn't necessarily relevant to my review, beyond my hunch that the no-tipping practice (at the coffee shop and the restaurant) reflected much more concerning matters regarding the workers. I'm so sorry that the most delicious, fancy Fluffer Nutter happens to be housed at this cafe, and I'll be chasing that high in my own kitchen in the future. You could frankly assemble most of the restaurant offerings at home, with no need for a Bristol Farms budget. Again, $7 for a slice of pan con tomate (exactly one slice) with a dollop of tomato juice (good nevertheless) is absolutely heinous in this economy. So are the management practices. I will not be bringing my money to any restaurant or shop owned by J&V in the future.

Great idea, horrible execution. The food is not fresh, and seems like it is leftover produce and meat from the owner's conglomerate of restaurants. The bread may be the only item worth stopping in to buy. I was really looking forward to having someplace like this in the neighborhood, but they need to step up their game or I fear they won't last.

Wow I've never felt more unwelcome or gaslit by a staff member in a restaurant before. When they got our coffee orders wrong and we politely returned them, even after we had a very specific conversation with the person at the register... they brought only coffee back made and same, it seemed like they tipped half of it out and then just gave it back, and then they gave my friend a cold coffee. Instead of sending it back again I went ahead and paid $6 for an espresso shot to add to my weak americano and when I told the waitress as she brought it out, she said thank you... credibly condescending and rude. I essentially ended up spending $12 on an americano

Lovely spot to pick up farmers market quality goods. The olives, lettuce, and flower selection keep me coming back. Wonderful staff!

The employees are AMAZING! So kind and thoughtful. Would rate cookbook 5/5 if there was a way to tip the coffee shop employees !!
