Terrible banking experience on multiple occasions. Citi's technology (fraud detection, bill pay, efficiency) lag FAR behind other banks. Issue 1: Citi's fraud detection falsely prevented me from buying airfare to Japan for a vacation. After five (!) calls to Citi, and even meeting with my "personal account manager", they told me they are completely unable to allow the purchase, and I'd need to use a different means of payment. The purchases were through Japan Airlines and AA's official websites. Issue 2: wiring my money out of Citi's account into my new account at another bank was also difficult. Once again, fraud detection kicked in, blocking the transfer. I called Citi and the rep sent me a one-time code via email, asking me to read it back. The email explicitly says to not share the code over the phone with anyone. I instead went to my branch of Citi to allow the wire... and I am waiting 20 minutes and counting for them to resolve the issue as I write this review. Citi is terrible. The run-down building of this branch is representative of the terrible technology here. Update: haha. After spending an hour at the branch allowing the wire transfer, I was emailed an hour later telling me the wire was cancelled due to suspicious activity. I cannot believe how strongly I actively hate this bank.

My wife had financial concern, walk in the bank & was attended to by one of the staffers, Eduardo Bautista. She was so impressed with his customer service, his knowledge on the investment & the way he treats people with respect & sincerity. When you get disappointed with how the Millenials act so privilaged high and mighty , this guys is an exception . He's a gem & an asset to the banking institutionshe's a keeper

Avoid this Citibank. I took a check today there and after depositing it, the teller gave it back to me. Seems like his head is in the clouds. He wasted my time. Now, they had to cancel the check and I have to go to another Citi to re deposit again. I am giving 2 stars only because Lina the bank manager called me and she was super nice. I wouldn't go here again. They were not busy at all but somehow they managed to mess up. They should be glad I kept the check. Otherwise, the bank would have lost a good amount of money.

Excellent service, friendly staff and very knowledgeable account consultants. The parking is easy and you rarely get stuck in long slow lines.

Had the worst experience with a teller named Yasmine. She was unable to perform my transaction accurately and efficiently. There was a discrepancy with my deposit and she had a nasty attitude about it. Not to mention my deposit was never counted back to me nor did she confirm an amount.

Thank goodness I don't bank here. My "adopted" mom does, however. And she is having an extremely hard time to get any reaction from the bank manager regarding her Debit Card. Several times now Citibank declined the card, even though there is plenty of money in the account. In fact, that there is a substantial amount of money available in her account was confirmed by the the "personal banker" we spoke with today. Here is a quick 411 and a heads up to anybody who has experienced this, too: I was with my "adopted" mom when she used her debit card in a medical office for her portion of a payment due. The staff ran the card and told us that the card was "declined". It was not an enormous amount, so we asked her to run the card again. She did and told us the same result: Declined. Thankfully we had another option to pay, and then we left to head over to the CVS, which ironically is located in the same area as this Citibank branch. My "adopted" mom used the same card to pay for the medication, which was totaling less then $20.00. Well, the debit card only "spit" out about 1% of the amount and declining the remainder. This was beginning to get frustrating!! So, we went to her house and called the number on the back of the card in order to find out why her card kept on getting declined. The representative told us that Citibank puts a limit on a daily spending of the card. Excuse me? - Who authorized that? He told us that is something that Citibank told the account holder when opening the account. Seriously!?! Obviously we didn't believe that and so we filed a complaint. - Nobody is holding her money hostage! - We were even promised that we would get a phone call from a manager within 24-48 hours! That NEVER happened. Instead my "adopted" mom made an appointment with the branch manager of her local branch (Eagle Rock Blvd) for today, July 1, 2022. However, when we got there we didn't speak with the branch manager, but a Personal Banker. He tried very hard to accommodate us in our request to figure out what the heck is going on, but in the end all he could tell us that there was nothing obvious to see: No fraud alert or any breach of any kind. He also told us that either of the purchases were not even close to any dollar limit for her to use. We ended up filing yet another complaint with him and we are hopeful that we will get response (one way or another). However, I am not the kind who will hold my breath, and neither is my "adopted mom". In summary: Be aware that Citibank is quick in holding on to YOUR money, but even quicker in deciding when You can spend Your Money. - That's like asking Mommy and Daddy for permission to use your "allowance".

Extremely poor customer service at this branch. You will be yelled at, told you do not know what you are doing and if you wish to be helped (felt more like graced) by the Banker at this branch you will have to take their rude attitude and extremely curt style. If you ask for the Manager, you will be told the camera is watching you and recording your move and the Manager will concur that customers must be given this kind of treatment if they choose this branch. After 10 years of being a Gold and Priority customer of Citi at this branch, with this treatment, sought customer support 's help who gave a ticket but no solution and post 6 months nothing was done. No reason for inaction but simply issued another ticket number this time 22 digit- I suppose it represents the number of pending customer complaints. Fortunately went to 400 North Central Ave Glendale Citi branch where the staff is amazing and very helpful. So if you need to give business to Citi, please use the Glendale branch and for sure not this Eagle Rock branch.

I am a Gold and Priority customer of Citi for 11 years who opened the account at Eagle Rock branch which had exceptional service. If you wish to be treated very rudely, discriminated, yelled at and told that you have no understanding of anything and that you are free to use any other branch or Bank, please go for service to this Branch. This is what I was put through, despite being an educated corporate finance attorney and therefore reasonably familiar with banking. And if you lodge a complaint, Citi does little or nothing as customer feedback seems to be not relevant. Best to move your business to a bank that needs customer.

Terrible bank. Especially the Eagle Rock branch. Unprofessional tellers. Kept calln me hun. I'm 42 years old- The Silverlake branch is MUCH better, but the entire Citibank n general is HORRIBLE. Over the holidays 4 transactions were made on my account and I reported fraud n had to get my account closed and they sent me a new debit card n has yet to refund my money. They said it could take up to 10 days. It's been 10 days and they STILL haven't credited my account. I took all my money out n put it n my US bank account. I've had Citibank for years n nothing but problem after problem after problem along with TERRIBLE customer service. N once at midnight I went to the atm, and my card didn't work. They told me due to routine maintenance all accounts were frozen. Try back at 8am!!! Worst bank EVER-

this year 2021: line to the teller is out the door, literally. 1st outside cash dispenser closed me out. ....had to wait on another line. 2nd dispenser, I received the wrong cash dist. now waiting ten deep just to get 20's. Amazing. Only two tellers. Manager has more makeup than Gaga does. I guess that prevents helping out the tellers.last year 2020: failure to notify google to update their hours based on corona.

Beware. Do not use Citibank for your mortgage needs, whether it's a purchase or a refinance. We are coming out of 9+ months of headache with Citibank and specifically this location's lending officer, Allen Sun. We wanted the relationship to work because Citibank appeared to be the best option for us. However, the process was painful and prolonged. On top of that, the communication with our lending officer was very poor. Emails and calls would go without a reply for weeks (despite multiple attempts). Allen was impossible to reach. Even now, we're trying to get a refund for some of our costs (which was actually his idea) and we're getting no response. Radio silence. When we did end up signing our mortgage documents (with another lender), our mobile notary mentioned that she also saw many issues with Citibank. Forms filled out incorrectly etc. Maybe I just got a unique bad experience but I wanted to share. I rarely write negative reviews but had to for this one. Save yourself and please learn from my experience. Good luck!
