Schwab is plagued with software problems. Today, I couldn't log in for nearly 3 hrs (even tho their "on-hold" msg says that the problem's been fixed). This is just one of nearly a hundred software probs I've encountered in less than 2 years with Schwab. Another ongoing problem won't allow me to edit a (GTC+extended hrs) open trade. Schwab keeps saying they're working on it, but it just shows how unreliable their trading platform can be. In contrast, I've been with Fidelity for over 20 years, where only once have I ever encountered a problem.

Charles Schwab is a bloated, poorly-run business that has no concept of customer service. They don't know their products and can't answer simple questions without forcing the customer to sit on hold for an hour or more of time. Moving my accounts ASAP.

This is the worst company ever. Customer service is so rude. The guy could not even answer my questions, he had to go to tech support. Website is the worst, you sell stock and you balance is not locked, customer support said you have to wait for the close. Liar at the close the amount was different that what I took a picture of so the guy has not idea what he is talking about. I was moved from TD Ameritrade the greatest company ever with the greatest website. I will now move my money to Fidelity at least their customer service is polite. Get a clue Charles S. puke

I've been banking with them for 5 years. I've only needed to go into a branch one time, and it was a pleasant experience.

We use an amazing money management firm and they like using Interactive Brokers, but we forced them to move to the Schwab platform. The ease and convenience and the just plain AMAZING and expedient customer service we receive from our local branch office in Seal Beach, CA, by Jazzmin Mancilla. Time and time again I have something to drop off for someone, or we need to get a new account funded to meet someone's time management at tax time challenges.Sometimes its easy stuffToday it was more complicated. No matter, Jazzmin knows what to do, equips you with the necessary follow-up, and does it all with both core competence, a breadth of knowledge, and is simply a pleasure PLEASURE to work with there.Sorry Interactive Brokers. You don't have Jazzmin Mancilla. Thank you again for making everything better for people we care about. We appreciate you.

Rolled over my 401k. Very professional and quick. Couple screening questions to verify my identity and which account I wanted the money in. The money was in my account within moments. Didn't even say anything when I "stole" one of their pens.

Utterly Incompetent. 1. Legal Notice provided to CS re 'Pending' fraudulent, unauthorized wire transaction of all funds; 2. Personally compelled to lock my own account and change all security info.; 3. Subsequent transfer of all funds and SECOND illicit wire transaction placed within 10-minutes of the above (AFTER Schwab being placed on full Notice of the compromised status of the account and specifically requested to adhere to its own safety protocols including the verbal authorization of any wire transactions); 4. Requested to appear at nearest branch to verify my ID (Despite having 'verified' electronically then being told it was a mistake); 5. In-branch representative: "There's nothing I can do;" 6. Subsequent calls placed to Schwab and requests to speak to supervising manager - "It's a waiting game right now." (Despite multiple RECORDED ASSURANCES of my fraud claim being "expedited." NO TIME FRAME of when an investigator will be assigned, nor when the provisional funds and/or original funds will be issued).

Difficult for seniors to manage. It takes multiple calls to schedule with assigned agent. Often accents are difficult for seniors and false promises for timeliness are common.

My mother has an IRA account with Schwab after she passed away in 2020 a year later my brother discovered the account had my father's name as the beneficiary. My father died over 20 years ago. Schwab would have done nothing to reach out to us my parents' children. Once the probate was completed my brother contacted Schwab. After that Schwab completed the estate and it is now just sitting in one of Schwab's accounts waiting for my brother the executor to respond back with all of our contact information. My brother hasn't taken the time to contact them but neither has Schwab followed up again to complete its fiduciary duty to distribute my dead parents' monies. Rather Schwab has just sat on its hands not following up with my brother to assure this is completed and why should they because the monies remain in Schwabs account. This doesn't feel right and Schwab should be taking a more proactive role and so should my brother but Schawb also owes it to my parents to fulfill their fiduciary duties. At least keep attempting to reach out to my brother until the distribution is completed.

I have had nothing but the best experience with Charles Schwab, both at this branch and the company as a whole. Every customer service representative that I talked to here at the branch and on the phone has been incredibly kind and helpful and have made sorting out any issues I've had with my brokerage and checking account a breeze. I couldn't recommend this bank more.

I am an African American man and I visited the Brea branch on 12-31-2021 to make a deposit. I am not sure of why I had to provide my social security number in order to deposit money into my business account. I had provided my previous deposit statement to the teller, but the teller told me that this documentation was not good enough to make a new deposit. He said he would not be able to verify my business account without my social security number. I have banked with Charles Schwab for over 20 years and have never had this issue. After making my deposit, the teller never once said "Thank You". He said there you go. The policy for depositing money should be the same across all branches. I thought banks did away with racial profiling.
