Old school, reminds me of my childhood days in LA. It's now a Mama Lu's dumplinh house. Still great food, old school peeps and all.

We love coming here for dim sum for years. Now, with new ownership and the addition of soup dumplings, it becomes a go-to place in LA. San Gabriel may still have the best dim sum, but CBS is a closer drive with a good choice of freshly made dim sum.

Open early in the morning for breakfast. In Chinatown, an easy 5-8 minute walk from Union Station where we had a 1.5 layover. Not enough time to do the sit down dim sum cart breakfast, but plenty of time to order takeout and get back to the station. The pork steamed bun was the best I’ve ever had. The filling was a slightly sweet smoky pork.

One of many go to places in Chinatown. But I come here mostly for the take out counter where you can get most of the dim sum served inside. Plus they also offer entrees and roasted duck to go for people that want to enjoy it at home.Parking: Free parking next to the premises. Metered street parking all around and paid parking lot across the street.

Use to be a pretty good dim sum place. Now its just mediocre. They've changed significantly in my opinion. They reduced the amount of filling in their Bao and sesame seed balls. Its all rice flour and very little filling. I thought it was a fluke before but the last two times I've gone there, I felt short changed.

CBS Seafood RestaurantThe only thing I miss when I worked day shift is having dim sum after work. And our go to place is CBS.We go for the great food or else the cr@ppy attitude of the workers will surely turn you off.Love their siomai, short ribs in black bean sauce, and yang chow fried rice. We're all set. The complimentary hot tea makes a meal.Sometimes we get a canned soda.Parking can be tight. Hey this is Chinatown in DTLA. We're over it.Do not go during noon time you will pass out from hunger, coz they like to pile on the food on tables of locals who are already stuffing their faces silly, then leave other customers craning our necks for the next food cart to come by.There’s also fast food options and bakery beside it. I love their red bean bun, pork bbq bun, and steamed rice cakes. Although they sell most of the items in the restaurant, it’s not allowed to buy from the fast food section then eat at the dining area, it’s strictly “to-go” orders.Restroom can be a hit or a miss. Use at your own risk.

After the change of ABC Seafood restaurant to just a to go store front. This as been my go to for dim sum in Chinatown LA! I've never had to wait more that 10 minutes to get seated and the dim sum carts are very attentive to the guests so getting what you want is as easy as asking if it's available that day. Normally, they'll have most of the staples, but for a bit more or less popular things like congee, sautéed tripe, or veggie dumpings they may or may not have it. There are times they wont have it on the carts but they'll just make it per request (probably need to ask nicely ;)). Parking can be a bit complicated since their parking lot is a bit small, but if you're getting dimsum in the AM there shouldnt be that much of a problem to either get lot or street parking (just be mindful of the meters and street signs!). Theres also a pay lot accross the street so there's always something to fall back on if you want to just not deal with it!

Ok to decent dim sum at a fair price. The service was incredibly fast, the tea was nice and hot, and the different dumplings were mostly alright. Honestly for its price I think its pretty fair, but just don't expect to be blown away by any of the food.

Food was okay. Price is okay. There is definitely a communication barrier with the staff. Hard to ask for anything or what the food is or what's in it so if you are allergic to something or you just want to know what's in it, then you are out of luck in that department. I was particularly annoyed at the staff talking loudly at each other from across the room, and someone decided it was a good idea to put on music on top of the already loud room. Had to ask to have it lowered down. I think they purposely sat everyone in one small area and left the bigger dining area empty making it too crowded and loud. I don't think I'll come back.

This is your typical dim sum establishment with all the favorites. It's best to look at CBS and the other restaurants in the surrounding area as one classic dim sum ecosystem. If one line is too long or one doesn't have that particular bun you're looking for, just stroll over to the next one. It was the perfect pit stop on the way to the airport. BB

Dim sum was very good. They have lots of space to park in their private parking lot. The service was very quick and attentive.

When in LA its our tradition to go to ocean seafood dim sum in Chinatown which was the absolute best. Unfortunately we didn't check before and got there and saw they closed down. Since we were craving d sum we did a quick search and came across CBS and walked over. Gosh worst experience EVER!!!! The preparation was sloppy and the portion were oversized which I think is their way to compensate for the lack of taste and poor quality of ingredients. We had a bite of each and were out of there in no time. Disgusting all of it - if I could I would give this zero stars!!!!
