Geoff Brookes is a master craftsman who belongs to a rare guild of artisans specializing in restoring damaged treasures. Whether it's a family heirloom, a priceless Asian vase, memorabilia from the Titanic, or a phenomenally heavy statue at a very public Memorial---he is called upon by clients here and abroad. He has restored numerous items for me back to a flawless state, all with full disclosure about the process, and takes time to answer all questions and to propose options. I trust his judgment and am grateful to know him and to call him friend.

My dog was spooked by jet noise and pulled down the large Kutani vase along with the pedestal on which it was displayed.I bought it in Japan while stationed there. I was heart broken since it had sentimental value and matched a couple of other pieces I own. The vase’s lip was broken. Fortunately I gathered the pieces and looked for a restorer and found Brooke’s. Very few people do this work. They worked with me to get an estimate and I sent it to them. They take their time to really do it right. Long story short, the vase looks like it never was damaged. I doubt anyone could tell including a professional appraiser. They are the best! I cannot recommend them more highly. I hope I don’t need them again, but if I do they will have my trust and my business.

The centerpiece of our patio water feature was a 19th century wine giare, which was ruptured on the first 100 degree days in 2018. It took us months to find Brookes Restorations, but after an hour or so listening to a description of their plan for mending the very long cracks and repositioning the pieces that had been pushed out, we accepted their proposal. It was astonishing to see the completed work a couple of months later. No visible remnant of the disaster remains. The pot was glazed to protect it from the elements and it looks perfect. The team at Brookes Restorations surpassed our hopes.

This place is wonderful. I brought a broken into 2 pieces Murano glass that was part of a light fixture and it was fixed very fast. Two pieces were put together so perfectly that it's hard to see the area where it was broken. This place has skilled professionals with years of experience. I'm glad I came here.

This is my first time using Brookes Restorations. I dealt exclusively with Johnny, who is a gem. I needed them after my first (and last!) experiment using command strips to mount a painting over a table where I kept the porcelain figurine that broke.
The story of the figurine: this set of figurines belong to my mom. My mother grew up poor and during her childhood in the 1950s, she would pass a store window for months where they were displayed. She saved for months to buy a set of figurines (a mother dog and two puppies chained together via leashes). This is still probably her favorite object. She actually asked me to keep them so that dad wouldn’t accidentally break them. These are the figurines I damaged. I felt so profoundly disappointed in myself. I couldn’t abide the simple request to protect them.
In my fury to figure out if I could do something, I did a search online for ceramic restoration. I ran through some, but didn’t see any with the specialty of ceramic restoration. I finally came upon Brookes Restoration. I saw that they had some megastar clients, like the Getty and the Reagans. I thought, gosh, would it be absurd for little ole’ me to send my little ole’ mid-century ceramic “pooches” that my mom purchased for the equivalent of less than a dollar? But, just the same, I wanted my figurine to be fixed just as meticulously as their bigger name stuff.
I contacted them. They were infinitely polite, and made me feel that my little figurine was just as important as anything else they had ever addressed.
I hadn’t realized how much I valued them. They are definitely out of place with my other decorative pieces (art deco, midcentury and arts and crafts stuff). But I deeply missed them—I had no idea I would to this degree.
When I got the set back, it was perfect. I have tried to look and look to see if I could find the originally damaged area and just can’t. I am so appreciative of the art of craftsmanship that they offer. This is becoming more and more scarce. My one positive thought, my figurine broke while the skills to restore it still existed.
As I am, if you exactly not of a big name, with exactly not a museum piece and live anywhere, you ship to Brookes Restoration who treat you and your damaged item(s) with the utmost (big name) care and respect.

Brooks has repaired a number of items for us, everything from a shattered wood sculpture to fine porcelain and even a pair of silver candle sticks. These were all things we thought could never be restored. Each time they have done an absolutely incredible job. I am so grateful. They are great, and really nice people.
