You can find Pliny the Elder at this store. Real ones know this beer is a classic west coast double IPA that has withstood the test of time. Before all the hazy craziness, everyone was drinking this beer. I don't even know what else this store sells but this place gets a five star rating from me for carrying Pliny the Elder.

Before I launched my Friday night beer tastings, I'd pass by Bill's and inwardly scoff at the claim painted on the side of the building--"largest beer selection in Atwater"--yeah, whatever. But THEN...I went in! I've been excited by the amazing expansion of interesting beers these days, and Bill's has a great rotating selection. I especially appreciate the variety of single beers--I like to taste before committing to a 4-pack, much less a 6! And even though there's always a plethora of IPAs (not my fave), there are also sours, Amber/red/brown/blond/fruited ales, pilsners, porters, stouts...you get the idea. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I seldom leave empty handed. My Friday night tasters are happy indeed!

OK straight up did not expect much walking in here. I was hoping to grab some NA beer (if they had it) or Diet Coke (more likely to be there) before a party. And dang! What a pleasant surprise. They had a wider selection of NA beers than I expected (3-5 options rather than my expectation of 0). And the guy working at the counter was SO nice and pleasant and knew what he was talking about. I hope they expand their NA selection even more so I have an excuse to visit.

Kinda weird to be reviewing a liquor store since I don't drink, But I was here the other day while on a date. I realized that I left my chewing gum at home in my other purse. My date was pretty chill and agreed to pop in with me. Because it's his nose, ya know? Got a pack of gum and the dude behind the counter - younger/very cool - was the NICEST!! You don't typically expect good customer service and good humor at a liquor store or convenience store, so it was a nice little footnote to the date.
