A couple of weeks ago I received a phone call from Carmen Rodriguez, who apparently is the branch manager. Several months ago I made a legal name change, but they failed to change the name on my safety deposit box. I told her, you have the legal paperwork, so just fix it! instead she started asking me all kinds of security questions in a very condescending voice. "I'm just trying to help you sir!" ?
Except, I don't need help, YOU need to fix your mistake. Since she wouldn't answer any of my questions, and obviously had her own conversation agenda, I told her that I was going to hang up, and I did.
Today, June 12 @ 11:30am I walked into the branch and spoke to a very nice teller. I asked to speak to either Mario Gomez or Roya, who have both been very helpful in the past. I specifically told them that I didn't want to speak to Carmen because she had been rude to me.
Unfortunately I was told that Carmen was the only one who can deal with the safe deposit boxes, and so I sat in the waiting area for her to become available. After waiting for about 5 minutes and steeling myself for the ordeal, a man walked into the branch and within 30 seconds Carmen called him over, asking if she could help him! Just...wow! After I've clearly been waiting for her! ?
I'm not about to be disrespected a second time, so I walked out. Sure, she tried to call out to me asking if she could help me, to which I replied "not anymore". ?
Now maybe it's because I am not a large account holder and the other guy was, but I would like to think that I'm treated the same as everybody else. At the very least I'm moving my accounts to another branch, and maybe even another bank just so I don't have to deal with her anymore. As other reviewers have posted, SHE is the problem. I wonder if BMO is aware of that?

Mario is a great banker. Each time I visited this branch, he was amazing. He's a very personable and caring banker. You can tell he is there for his customers. I really appreciate that.

I’ve visited this branch twice and each time Mario Gomez was outstanding. His level of concern for my banking needs is phenomenal, he listened very intently and delivered what services I needed. Also friendly, polite and respectful.

Amazing customer service! I was from out of town and Lesly at the counter was able to help me with my issue. Also, several staff members greeted me as well.

Very rude bank. Horrible customer they do acknowledge their customes. I waited 15 minutes before I got any service and they had 1 other customer. Carmen N. Rodriguez is person who helped me. She is very poorly skilled at her job and has no sense of hospitality

At approximately 3:30 pm today 7/29/21, I went to Bank of the West today located at 123 Astronaut E S Onizuka St, Ste 101, Los Angeles, CA 90012. My wife and I were having lunch next door and popped in because we needed to change her last name (because we just got married) on our joint account. We walked in and asked the lady in the cubicle to the right if we could be assisted with that. She said they couldn't do it and that we had to go to our home branch. I was surprised she said that because that is certainly not true. She asked us who we were and why didn't we just go to our home branch. She was talking down to us as and the way she looked at us was as if we were some kind of criminal or something, it was really odd. She was questioning us with a very rude demeanor as if she was irritated and upset that came into her branch with our request. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name but besides her, there were only 2 tellers and a sweet older woman of Asian descent who came over and finally helped us. Walking into a bank and just trying to get something simple accomplished, was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever dealt with and this lady should not be in the position she's in. My wife is Colombian and has an accent when she talks and the lady's demeanor toward her had an almost, discriminatory vibe. I love BOTW but she's a very bad representation of the company and I will never go to that branch again, which I'm sure she'll be pleased with. Given my date and time, the company should be able to find out who this employee is.

Terrible customer service. Called in cuz they charged me 140 in overdraft fees. Couldn’t do anything about it. Everyone i talked to said “it sounds like its not our fault.” it is youre fault when youre the the one taking the money and approving the charges over and over again??? Then expecting me to pay 35 dollar charges each time you approve a transaction? branch manager kept blaming me needless to day they need to be fired and i will be closing my account soon. Thanks for nothing bank of the west. Do not bank with them please!

Great services and friendly staff, much better than those big banks, e.g. BofA, Citibank, WF ... etc.
