After a couple weeks of breaking in my new shoes I wanted to leave a review. My feet are quite small and wide so ready to wear shoe brands are pretty much impossible for me unless they are clogs/slip-ons. Reggie made me this custom pair of leather Chukka boots, and I am really happy with them. The leather is sturdy but breaking in well, and the softer leather lining is a nice touch. Fitting was thorough, and it only took 6 weeks to complete the shoe. Reggie will stand behind his work but in my case the fit was good right away and no adjustments needed.
This was my first custom shoe so pricing seems high at first, but he is squarely in between the more high fashion bespoke shoe makers (5k+) and and the semi-custom Made-to-order options (~1k). There aren't many people doing custom shoes any more in LA. I will note he doesn't keep the lasts permanently like some bespoke shoemakers, so repeat orders would have to be done sooner to get a bit of a discount.

These shoes rock! I have always struggled finding beautiful shoes that fit me well (doc martens do not fit me well!!!) I was a little nervous with the financial investment, but Reggie's professionalism, transparency, and sense of humor made me feel at home in his showcase room. If you're on the fence on custom made shoes, go with Ballard Custom Footwear. His prices are the most competitive.

I walk a lot for a living, so new shoes are a pretty frequent occurrence. Problem is my feet are near as wide as they are long, with bunions that seem to grow every time I find cute shoes. After being told for the umpteenth time that stores don’t carry the wide sizes, I got frustrated and decided to look into custom-fit boots. I’ve never had custom anything before. It was a scary thought, spending all that money.I found Ballard Custom Footwear on Google, and I’m glad I did spend all that money! Reggie has a magnetic personality and made me feel like I belonged there in his shop. Any nervousness I had melted away as he measured and re-measured my feet, thoroughly explained each step of the process, and got to know what I was looking for. I felt absolutely at ease— even a little excited— by the time I was done talking to him.I just got my new boots today, and legitimately cried. I’ve never had boots or shoes that fit so well before. There is no pain, no struggling, and they look good! Walking feels like a dream come true! It gets better: they’re made of leather, with reinforced toes and padded soles, so they’ll last YEARS!! He told me that everyone who walks into his store is a star, and I believe it— finally being able to walk confidently and without pain makes me feel like I could take on the world!Thank you, Reggie Ballard! Reggie Ballard did a great job. He was very meticulous in measuring the feet to make sure the shoes fit properly. Since this was my first pair, the fit was not quite right, but Reggie immediately made the changes and now they fit great. Reggie definitely stands behind his work to make sure customers are satisfied.

The work is perfect - he took a favorite pair of old boots and produced a new pair exactly like them. Beautiful workmanship, extremely well-made, couldn’t ask for more. Very reasonable prices, great costumer care and attention to detail.
