This is more complicated. As a doctor, there is stuff you don't know about insurance companies these days. This is actually a combo of 4-5 stars for the staff, 2 stars for the Walgreens making choices about staffing matrix/policies, 1 star for the customers who expect pharmacy staff to work miracles/be cashiers/don't understand that the doctors make mistakes, and 0 stars for insurance. The pharmacists are really doing their best, and I've had so much kindness from them going above and beyond. The main solution: Walgreens hires one extra "customer service rep" where we wait for them to solve problems on the side, unblocking the counter. The staff there is overworked, with too many prescriptions ordered and not enough techs. The pharmacists increasingly have to call doctors in person all day long to clarify prescriptions, check interactions, address polypharmacy, and now be responsible/liable for controlled substance misuse. Customers: don't use pharmacy staff as a check out counter! Don't be rude when you are frustrated, get angry at insurance! Walgreens: without a customer service rep who can trouble shoot the problems insurance companies/customers have to the SIDE of the main line, everyone is rightfully frustrated. Two lines are NOT enough. Also, the idea that the app offers me pick up in 4 hours, I defer to 24 hours, and the Rx is not ready for 48 hours is bad. The lines of 6+ people all the time are bad. Get a separate line for vaccines. Walgreens policy of not filling the Rx when there is an insurance question (which I resolve that at the counter and then have to wait 20-30 min to fill): really frustrating. Walgreens: get a tech to answer phones so we don't have to wait in line to talk to that "customer service rep" about insurance issues. The only reason all staff doesn't get 5 stars is that some less trained staff will tell me and my patients what's wrong, and I know that's not the actual problem (like that there aren't any other prescriptions ready, when it turns out they were just in the wrong box, and I am back in line 5 minutes later; or " We are waiting on your prescriber to approve the medication" when Walgreens corporate has a policy to request to change from a 30 day to a 90-day, and so they don't fill the 30-day that I ordered without a fax from the doctor)

Long lines, lots of elderly patients in Los Altos that are always confused. They never fill the prescriptions until you get there forcing you to wait…

For years the line for the pharmacy has been slow and painful. In fact, everything to do with pharmacy is painful but they have a monopoly in the area and don’t care. How they cannot fix this is beyond me. If there was anywhere else to go I would. Hire more people!

Poor communications causing delayed meds and has the lowest efficiency among other pharmacies in the area. This is a weirdly managed pharmacy

We used to love this Walgreens because of its location and ease of parking. However, the Asian lady working here displayed an unfortunate lack of empathy towards elderly patients. Parents who were ill with COVID-19 needed their Paxlovid prescription which was sent here by the doctor. However, this lady doubted the authenticity of the prescription and the COVID diagnosis, insisting on unnecessary verification with the doctor. This not only delayed critical medication but also added stress to their situation. The most concerning aspect of this experience was her choice to close the rolling shutter to cut off any further communication. We felt a deeply saddening lack of empathy, particularly in a situation involving elderly customers in urgent need of care.

Pharmacy has seemingly random, unpublished lunch hours. So if you plan to go between 12 and 3, call ahead. Today it was 1:45 to 2:30. So I wasted 30 minutes of my day.

This place is an embarrassment. Stuck up, rude, combative and incredibly unhelpful management and pharmacist. Visit CVS or RiteAid instead. Walgreens is no longer worth it.

I noticed all the reviews are months ago when the pharmacy wasn't a pleasant experience because they never answered phone and lines were always long but they have improved in last five months and gone from 3* (stars) too 5* (stars). I don't know what happened at the Pharmacy but customer service is now excellent because they answer phone when I call and the pharmacist will fill a prescription when you go in immediately. Before it would it would be 30-60 minute wait but now it might be 5-20 minutes depending on how busy they are. They also usually bring another person to help at counter if line gets long whereas before if line was long they would only have one person at counter. A++++++++++++++++

If there is a line stop asking people to 4 to 5 minutes I've been her 2x today and I come to Walgreens cause of the speed and convenience not seine 1=3 of my break waiting in line.

It's a little bit run down for a Walgreens but they have a good selection of snacks.

Online price says one thing, store has 200% markup. When I noticed the next day, of course, I threw away the receipt.Never seen this before with any other store advertising through app or website. But walgreens has small print that says prices may differ in store.Went to complain, I knew I wouldnt get my money back and wasnt asking for it, I just wanted to make a point about how this is horrible customer service. Manager does not apologize, gives me attitude. Congrats you scammed me out of 20 bucks, now I wont be shopping with you anytime soon. Feel like getting scammed? Shop at walgreens I guess. Wow.

Today's experience was particularly bad at the pharmacy at this location. As usual the line to pickup prescriptions was four person deep. But it gets worse. The pharmacist, Bo Y., lets a woman cut the entire line because she is upset. They don't have all of her prescriptions ready so she is upset and leaves in a hissy fit saying she will be transferring to another pharmacy. I am next in line for this pharmacist and she pushes me aside for another person who was waiting. When I tell her that she let the woman cut in front of us, she gets belligerent with me. Clearly, she was taking out her frustrations on me.Bo Y. starts handling the order for the other person so I wait for the pharmacy technician to finish with another customer. When she is done, I start my transaction and start telling her that Bo Y. let the woman cut the line in front of 2-3 people. Bo Y. overhears the conversation and, to spite me, instructs the technician not to get my prescriptions and to go in the back. She then goes back to the other customer and tells me to wait for her. Finally, she comes to get my prescriptions and she is curt with me. No apologies for her behavior...no apologies for letting the woman cut the line. As I complain about the service, she basically says that she does not want to hear it anymore and tells me to shut up...she tells the customer to shut up!I take her name and, after the transaction, I talk to the pharmacy manager. He listens but doesn't indicate what action he will take. All this drama to pick up my prescriptions! Ugh! Terrible customer service!

The short and fat disabled waitress was very slow. Therefore, I had to wait for a long time. After she helped other customers, she refused to send the package that i dropped off. She asked another short, fat waitress to send the package. Another waitress was very rude and said that she would send the package in 3 days from the day i dropped off. In summary, these two waitresses at the store cannot get a real job because they are stupid high school graduates. They are not suitable for serving rich and highly educated people who have a real career in one of the richest neighborhoods.

Terrible experience for the Walgreen pharmacy at this location. 1 star is just for today's experience I made an appointment for my booster vaccine for my husband and me. I got a confirmation email and a text message for this appointment. However, when I arrived today, the staff told me there exists no vaccine today but tomorrow. Then I asked could you please help make the appointment tomorrow? The staff mentioned I could make an appointment but still no guarantee that I will get one tomorrow. If no guarantee, what's the point of appointment please? Then staff mentioned that she won't work tomorrow so she has no idea???Also the staff attitude is super un friendly. Highly recommend do not take booster vaccine here, to avoid wasting time!
