Banks in Los Altos, CA

“Chris and team are the best here, if you can find vacant box.Safe deposit boxes not tied to private-equity or boutique-investment-bank and high-net-worth wealth accounts, are very hard to come by in Los Altos and Bay Area.I am lucky to get a their tiniest & most affordable box. They just got 10 more year or lease to ensure long term safekeeping of your stamp, coin, jewelry, watch, trading card, cash & comicAnd I really love zero documentation for box setup, and no ID entry requirement with make this place more unanimous than other safe deposit box anywhere. The carpets here are alway shampooed. The private room have attached restroom. The place is kept at correct temperature & humidity to ensure all your acid laced paper and cards are not reactive.More critically is the security of this place which is why there a long waitlist here”

“I banked with Bank of the West for five years and was always very pleased with the customer service support that I received at the different branch locations plus the variety of checking and savings accounts that they offer as well. Definitely recommend this bank!”

“I have a savings account and 3 mortgages with StarOne and they never fail to delight me. I just visited a branch to get some crisp bills for CNY and when I mentioned to the teller what it was for, he offered me red envelopes that they had onsite! This type of personal experience is delightful and I doubt you'd find at Wells Fargo or Bank of America.”

“11/1/2023thinkorswimCharles Schwab & Co., Inc.schwab.com/contact-us877-519-1403This is a review for a stock trading platform which I just installed and compared with my previous platform called StreetSmart Edge (SSE), also provided by Schwab. This has gotta be a first review and I hope it will be relevant to somebody, I could have used this information.thinkorswim (TOS) is a powerful, feature filled and customizable equity trading platform that is in many ways superior to StreetSmart Edge.Trades are easy to setup from multiple places and very intuitive with lots of options available.Charting appears to be at least as equivalent to SSE with apparently many more studies available. I was able to replicate my SSE chart setups quickly. The MarketWatch Calendar is an excellent feature where you can display the dates for earnings releases, dividend ex-dates and other stuff. I had to create individual manual notes for these in SSE, a real time saver. However it does lack some key features that SSE has; the ability to display the daily change in account value (so you know how you did that day), the ability to execute a sell order using specified lots (for tax purposes, however you can still do this with Schwab.com) and the ability to display top holdings for funds and ETFs in Fundamentals. There are some minor quirks like being able to retain the number of days when displaying account information (it always defaults to 1 day when switching menus).TOS takes a little getting used to time because it is so customizable and will take at least a few days of work to get it the way you want it to look and work. Service has been excellent through the chat support feature with very helpful and responsive agents. When I first ran it, I was thinking of going back to SSE but after a little use I really like it and not going back to SSE.”

“I have the opportunity to call Chase Los Altos Branch hoping to find someone to pick up the phone. Very surprised, someone picked up the phone and know exactly what I need. That person is Renee. (BIG thank you) Shortly after, I stopped by to look for her (no appt) and I am lucky, she is available. She explained to me everything and finished the acct opening process for me in less than 10 mins. This is my 1st time to walk into this branch, totally happy. This is the 1st time to call this branch, very surprised that they will pick up the phone (Citibank, Wells, pls pls take notes here) Overall, totally happy to have Renee to help me!”

“Whenever I needed to go into a bank to take care of some business I always feel it's a big chore and stressful. Either there's a long wait or someone is going to push me into new products, etc. However, this branch totally changed my impression of physical retail banking! Here are the 2 very positive things I've observed: 1. Customer service excellence - regardless of your net worth to them I'm by no means any "premium" or "high-value" customer at this bank, in fact quite the opposite. So I was pleasantly surprised that they don't treat customers differently based on that. The relationship banker and the branch manager were super friendly and helpful to us. Even though what I wanted to do is quite time consuming for them, they helped us get it done with a great attitude. Their service to us beats many other banks that focuses on high net worth customers. 2. Great team work / people management There were a few times where the relationship banker who was helping us had some trouble with the computer system (since she's new the bank), the branch manager jumped in and help resolve the issue with a great attitude towards us and her own team. She took time to personally helped us to expedite the process and gave us a ton of confidence that it's a well managed branch. As a customer, it's important for me to observe that the employees are working well together as a team, which usually translates into efficient and friendly service. Lastly - the physical branch itself is very accessible. Lots of parking spaces, recently remodeled so it looks very new and clean, situated in a safe location. This will absolutely be my preferred branch going forward.”
