This review is about one thing: THE SELF-CHECKOUT. For the love of God, Lucky, you've gotta invest in self-checkout software that doesn't feel like trying to use a PC from 1998. Countless items are always "not recognized". The phone number log-in pops up invasively/annoyingly when you're in the middle of scanning items. The scale is super persnickety about weight and asks for an employee log-in if one banana so much as teeters. Honestly, every time I use these, an attendant has to come over *AT LEAST* 2-3 times to rescue me with their code. Waiting in line & checking out can take as long or longer than grabbing my items. Of course, if there were enough normal check-outs open (or enough assistance for everyone doing self checkout) this would be fine, but there's not - the store has leaned into the self-checkout life with less staff. Babes, for that to work, the machines need to work. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Otherwise this is honestly a perfectly normal and nice supermarket and does not deserve one star. But for this feedback to go to the ears at the top, my review needs to hurt. This is my closest grocery store, and it takes a lot of hate to go somewhere else when you just want to go to the market 2 minutes away and grab something -- but Lord, this self checkout is TESTING me. Lucky, fix your ish. Today it's Google Maps rants, tomorrow it'll be customer decisions. Safeway is less than 10 minutes away... just saying.

The folks that work here mostly stand in the front kind of huddled near the registers,somewhat difficult to approach with questions... also, it seems like nobody is ever actually working the self checkout area (though I know that it's in the name "self" checkout). The prices are astranomical (especially compared to somewhere like grocery outlet) and yet the store is old, fairly rundown, and seemingly unfinished (multiple types of flooring ext) all in all not the greatest place to spend a fortune.

This store has been our go to for the past 30 years. I love how cconvenient it is. There was a time when I dreaded coming in here because of the staff and the poor quality of produce. NO MORE. this store has improved by leaps and bounds. The produce is great now. The meat is above average especially for the price. The staff is friendly and helpful. Thank you all!

Horrible service at this store! Zero stars! First time in. Employees knew of issues with the store app/sale prices/coupons but was spoken to so rudely by the head clerk who was left in charge of the store. He was completely wrong and did not apologize even after another employee corrected him. Still overcharged when I left the store after more than a half an hour. Spoke to the manager the next day, who apologized, but should of rectified the issue by mailing me what I was overcharged by the very least. If you advertise a product you need to stand by it. You expect consumers to use your apps but they never work properly and this is my experience at all the grocery stores. This is FRAUD!

Lucky’s is a fantastic grocery store — great selection, reasonable prices, friendly staff.
Three stars are for the overly-sensitive self-checkout machines that need a staff member to reset — what a pain!! Either hire more cashiers (preferred), or relax the settings a bit.
I don’t have this problem at Target.

Rude cashier. Told him the total bill was incorrect because I had calculated it ahead of time. He said I had to pay, get out of line, and check the receipt on my own because he needed to keep the line moving, even though he took forever helping the customers ahead of me. After paying, I saw the coupon I clipped online hadn't been applied. I pointed this out to him, and he said I "needed to read the promo carefully" and referred to a completely different promo on the same product. I pointed out he was talking about a completely different promo. Then he said I must have the wrong product. NOPE, their system was messed up and overcharged me, and the cashier kept blaming me.
