I'm consistently impressed by the top-notch customer service and the high-quality meat offered at this shop. Their pre-cooked sausages, particularly the chicken pesto variety, are absolutely delicious. This place is a gem.

Been coming to Dittmers for years. The new (since fire damaged the old location a few years back) is great. Lots more space and stuff. Of course the sausages are the absolute best. My favorites are weisswurst, chicken and spinach, Hannover wurst and smoked paprika. However any sausages they make will likely be the best of its kind you’ve tasted. The steaks are great. I treat myself to a ribeye or porterhouse/T bone and my wife with a filet on special days and they are almost as good as the grass fed steaks I grew up on and certainly better than what you’ll get in local restaurants. The corned beef especially eye of round is another seasonal personal favorite. I routinely use their pepper bacon as a recipe base for things and use their beef bones to make stock. I also swear by a mixture of their smoked duck, turkey and chicken for homemade stock.Besides super meats they also carry great German mustards and spices, condiments and other useful bits including fresh acme bread. The only negative thing I’d say is certain times they get very busy and overwhelmed. But that’s because their products are so good.

I have moved and am having a very hard time finding my German Food. I need my Black Bread, Tea Wurst, and Lieba Kasse and many other Blood Wurst. Thank goodness you are still around !!! Thank you Rebecca G.. in Oregon?

We have been shopping at Dittmer's for over 20 years and in years past, I would have given them 5 stars. Alas, that is no longer the case and we will no longer be patronizing the place. We bought three items right before Christmas; headcheese, which was fine, Canadian bacon, which was significantly and noticeably oversalted, and lastly, a bunch of smoked pork chops. The chops were so oversalted as to be inedible. In fact, eating the whole thing likely would have caused salt poisoning, a particular concern since we had two young children eating them before we noticed and took them away. However, just a few bites were enough to make me and my wife drink lots of water for the rest of the night. When I called in about this after Christmas, the manager I spoke with, Petra, was curt and cold, claiming that the Canadian bacon she ate was fine and that I was the first person to note the severe oversalting on the smoked pork chops. No apologies. She did offer a refund for the poor meat if we brought it into the shop, which we did later that day. Meat is insanely expensive, including what we had bought at Dittmer's. The risk of horrifically oversalted, inedible meat that ruins your palate for the night isn't worth it.

Food selection is fantastic. However, they need to address holiday order taking. We ordered for a planned dinner party on Dec 5th and upon arriving at the scheduled time on the 22nd, they had no record of our order. If this was a one off, no major concerns but 4 people in a row behind us had the same issue. Time to fix the process! Other than that, we just had to wait an additional 20 minutes for them to prepare the meats.

Dittmer's Gourmet Meats and Wurst Haus in Los Altos is a true gem! Their fresh meats are top-notch, and the beef tongue is a rare find. Plus, the convenience of free parking outside is a bonus. Great selection of different kind of sausages and German products. A must-visit for meat enthusiasts!

This is an absolute rip off. German products cost 5x as much as they do on online shops. It's crazy! Also, the sausages are not great and the Wurst does not taste like German Wurst at all.

The head cheese and sausages are really tasty. The prices are reasonable as well. The server even let me try a bit before buying. Highly recommended.
