Once upon a time, before COVID, I could come here and shop for nice things at very very low prices as gifts for my family and myself. Today, prices, no exaggeration, have gone 4 times higher. I left empty-handed ?

Great selection of items at this store and the staff is always friendly and helpful. You never know what you will find so it's best to go often. I also like to bring my nicer donations here (versus Goodwill). I know they will be sold for a higher price and the funds go to a great cause. Enjoy!

Went in excited to look around, staff was distant and didn’t talk to me despite me trying to say hello and good morning, but the talked to everyone else in the store and asked if anyone needed help. Not sure it was because I was young or had tattoos but definitely felt judged. Do not recommend coming here

Best discount boutique in Los Altos. Through the generous donations of Los Altos Hills and Los Altos residents, the Discovery Shop carries quality items at a fraction of the original prices. Escada, Chloe, Jenni Kayne, Eileen Fisher, Trina Turk, Coach, Prada, JJill, Chico’s, Gap, Limoges, Lenox, Villeroy&Bock, vintage crystal, silver, collectibles can all be found in this shop. And all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Get great deals, help the Earth by buying repurposed goods, and donate to a worthy cause.

Lots of nice clothes and all sizes from designer, vintage, and current trends. This is one of my favorite thrift shops. Friendly staff, most are volunteers. You can find some great deals here. My new favorite place to shop. It’s like a treasure hunt.

I love this store, and this location is one of my favorite Discovery Shops. The people are very friendly and helpful, which makes shopping more fun. I'm not sure why this is labeled as expensive because I find the prices on par with other Discovery Shops. The merchandise is in great quality and the more expensive items are designer brands (and still at much lower prices then when buying new). The stuff I've found here is much better quality than Goodwill or other thrift stores. One thing I love about shopping here is that it's like a treasure hunt that keeps changing. They also have good sales and mark things down after they've been there awhile. And the best thing about shopping here is that you're helping to fight cancer.

I love that place, variety of clothing and items, some are even collectibles. Every days they offer new inventory and great deals with their discounts days For me is like hunting treasure place. Going to that place always relaxed me. It's like a reward of the day and all my family and my friends are benefiting from the all goods that I found over there even gold jewelry I also buy gifts certificates cards for my friends that also loved to go to that place too :-)) Some volunteers are new always ready to help. I saw that they are having recently more younger customers and volunteers too That is so great so we can found more trendy stuffs :-) or vintages designers clothing, bags and shoes ( such a good conditions and prices ) too . My friends are always impressed for what I was able to found in that store but I go quite often that is the true. Actually I don't feel guilty at all to spend my money over there, because it's for a good cause, environmental friendly and the most important thing it makes me happy Ok some people looks always for a negative side of views. Yes it's true mistakes happened. News volunteers people are still learning I guess, but I never complain lol when the price is low hahaha I m in love with those shops . Please support the cause too. It's a win win situation

A friendly and petite thrift shop located in downtown Los Altos. The staff is overall older yet very friendly and the hours are in reason as well. You can find unique antiques from different parts of the store, which could be from clothing, jewerly and accessories that aren't always as profound in locating among regular department shops. I come here every once in a while to see what's new and its even better to see the shop continue to florish considering the events from covid-19. It's even better to shop for a great cause in the support of the American Cancer Society, so its an honorable pleasure spending time here.

This store has so much potential, it's sad really. Like many of the other reviews here, this *used* to be a lovely store. Now it's a delusionally overpriced, second-rate thrift store. They have like 15 volunteers running all over the place. It's quite laughable - they had more volunteers than customers all bumping into each other in the store (this isn't a giant store). Faded, clearly used clothes for men and women that were inconsistently priced and overpriced. Newsflash: Just because something is a brand name, but is clearly used and faded, does not warrant a hefty price tag! I went next door to Eco-Fash, more of a true second-hand store, and bought some lovely items for a fraction of the price - while STILL being in Los Altos!! LOL Won't waste time here ever again. And yeah, the volunteers are kinda odd - seem friendly at first, but not really. And yes, charitynavigator.org mentioned in one of the reviews here is awesome. You're better off going to the Goodwill in Mountain View if you want a huge selection for half the prices they post here. A woman's blouse there will cost you $7-9 dollars. Here, they charge $12, $15, and up for a plain blouse that you can get NEW at TJ Maxx or Ross for the same price (or a few dollars more). No need to come to a place like this if you want to do good.

Items in the store are not properly researched. I recently bought jewelry that is not as described. There is no return policy (I wouldn't even try to return anything). There was a sterling silver necklace, the sterling silver hallmark tag & clasp was not soldered. The item did not look like sterling silver. Yet it carried a sterling silver price. Buyer beware things are not as they seem. I would stay away from jewelry unless you have items to test the jewelry at hand. Plus a good loupe Occasionally a good selection of vintage furniture. Good selection of high-end shoes of varying sizes, priced accordingly. Less expensive than resale shops more expensive than Goodwill or savers. Keep in mind that the point is to raise money for cancer.

Too few selection. The merchandise looks dated. Parking is not easy. I made best effort to hunt but found nothing appealing.
