“While I love a good B&B, I was skeptical at first when gifted a two night stay here. Now wrapping my second night here, the attention to detail and authenticity of the themed rooms is uncanny, we are so impressed! This isn’t a cheap gimmick but an eccentric work of legendary art. It took 10 years and 200 craftspeople to build this mansion as it stands today, with the muralist working 40hrs a week for two years! Upon researching Los Alamos, Los Olivos, and the Santa Ynez region, we were overwhelmed with how many things we wanted to do and places to see…. But upon arrival, we were so delightfully surprised by our room that we returned immediately after dinner at Bell’s to watch one of the movies on theme and enjoyed sparkling wine in our room provided by our host. We stayed in the French Loft which was very comfortable with a lovely balcony, ample lighting options (and an easy remote to control them all), a gas fireplace, a comfortable bed, and tasty breakfast served via dumbwaiter. We are recommending The Vick to all our friends and family and look forward to coming back.Rooms: So special!!! Attention to detail and quality is amazing.Nearby activities: Wine tasting, Michelin dining as well as casual dining, bars, bocce court, antique and thrift shopsWalkability: Los Alamos is a tiny town with several local spots for food, wine, antiques, bars, etc- all of which can be reached by foot on either side of one main road. We enjoyed two great nights out for food and drinks without having to use our car. Los Olivos is a more expansive town in terms of walkability.Food & drinks: Local wines available for purchase from the host and a tasty breakfast offering included each morning.Noteworthy details: It took 10 years and 200 craftspeople to build this mansion as it stands today, with the muralist working 40hrs a week for two years!”

“Really lovely stay. Easy check in. Los Alamos is so small so you can walk to restaurants and tasting rooms easily. I'd definitely stay again. Bed was comfortable and plenty of free parking.”

“We enjoyed our two night stay here. We had a classic room, and while it was small, it did it’s job and was comfortable for two. I do wish we had a patio, as all the rooms open to each other and it just felt either too dark with the blind closed or too exposed to everyone walking past the room with them open. Also found it weird that there were no extra locks on the door. Normally there’s a latch in addition to the deadbolt. It was overall quiet and beautiful property. We’ll decorated and the vibes we’re a 10/10. Would stay here again, just might consider upgrading to a larger room/patio.Nearby activities: The town of Los Alamos is small, but has some good restaurants. Quick drive to Solvang, sant Ynez or Los Olivos. So many options.Walkability: There are bikes available and I would suggest those over walking. While the town is near, you do need to go under the freeway. If you’re up for a stroll and a few hills, then it’s definitely doable.Food & drinks: The restaurant on site was wonderful. We only had dinner here, but thoroughly enjoyed our experience.”
