Was just stopping by to fill up our gas and a quick bathroom break on our way to Lo Angeles. Friendly staff and clean bathroom. Very convenient!

Needing to find a pit stop, I found quaint Collins Market in Los Alamos. This town is really mesmerizing and the people are very friendly. Inside the market, I was greeted warmly and happy to help out. Seeing the tri tip sign outside, I asked and they informed me of their combo special. Why not? For a store deli, I was impressed with the meat. You could clearly see the smoke rings in the meat and it was tender and flavorful. For $10 with homemade potato salad and drink can't beat nowadays! And worthy of a 5-star review.

We haven't eaten there but there's often a line for people ordering food. It's 3 blocks from our house so we sometimes pick up something we need to finish making dinner. They also sell fuel but it's typically pricey for a small town.

Hostile and confrontational attendant when asked about their policy of placing a $100 hold on Amex for fuel prior to filling our tank. Situation could of been alleviated if attendant was customer service oriented and used a professional tone however her reply was "not my problem, contact your credit card company". No mask, poor service and unethical charging protocols.

THE BEST TRI TIP SANDWICH YOU WILL EVER HAVE WILL COME FROM THIS GAS STAION MARKET Deserving of 5 stars for many reasons, locally owned and operated, friendly staff, well stocked for it's size, has a ATM, it's a community treasure. In a town now known for it's upscale and hip eateries, the husband and wife team have perfected the meal that was born in California. The tri tip cut is lean and dense, so the problem that most use thick slices often over cooked, with the fixings taking a bite results in a slice of meat dangling from the mouth. At Collins, Mr Tri Tip seasons and barbecues them perfectly medium rare all the way through with just a thin line of char, no gray. Then to fix the toughness problem, Mrs Tri Tip slices the meat to make the perfect thinness of slices stacked to still have texture , yet not fall apart even when loaded. Each one is made to order with a list condiments and add in for customers to choose. Choices of a roll or breads. I like it on sourdough, with the veggies, horseradish sauce and salsa. Large portions, great value They serve it mostly as a Friday special, and special it is.

Coming down from the north on U.S. Hwy. 101, from Morro Bay, in Summer season 1987, or 1988, this may have been a stopover then. I know it was either this place [some other building at that time], or another building down the street a few blocks. However, it was indeed on the same side of the street. It was a much needed stop, to stretch and refresh, as I went inside for purchases. Some time later, as we passed through the Gaviota Pass on U.S. Hwy. 101, alongside Gaviota Beach, a.k.a. Port Orford, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A., an extensive red tide was in progress along and at the coastline.

Happened to need to find a bathroom for our kids while passing through from Fresno to Santa Barbara with three young kids. Friendly atmosphere, good snack variety. Cleanest convenience store/gas station bathroom I’ve been to in a while. We might make this our go to stop for trips that bring us out this way.

We took away excellent sandwiches for our road trip from LA to SF. First we stopped at a fancy bakery & they were already sold out of their pre-made sandwiches. Next we stopped at a grocery & deli but the deli was closed. 3rd time was a charm! We weren’t expecting much but I had a most excellent tri-tip sandwich. Extremely tasty & tender with absolutely no gristle. My hubs had his favorite Turkey & Swiss. Staff could not have been nicer, and for another dollar, we got a bag of chips & a bottle of water or fountain drink. So pleased & we will stop there again. They do have a couple of tables inside for lunching.

Great stop for gas, food, and drinks. The clerk was very sweet and could right off the bat determine that we were out-of-towners. We had small talk and it felt so nice to have a conversation with someone from a small nearby town. Didn't try any of their hot food deli items but I'm reading that they're a hit!

Agree with other reviews about cashier being rude. My sister and I were there yesterday and I had a sandwich made whereas my sister bought pre-made. The cashier literally ran up my sister's purchase and pushed her sandwich and drink at her along with the change. I was still walking around the store looking for other items and cashier says 'Ma'am are you ready?'. Figured that I would just pay and get the heck out of there. Was going to buy lotto tickets but thought against it. If I won (haha) I wouldn't want any proceeds to benefit the store. Avoid this place, go to Subway or the other store that has nice people in back that serve Mexican food and is yummy.
