Great Class taught by Don, Alex, and Helen. They covered all aspects of the being a CCW holder and asked the right and hard questions during the class. I will be taking some of their additional classes. They have an amazing gun store.

This is a top notch class. Don is very passionate about training and firearms and it shows .He has extensive experience in the Marines and law enforcement etc. If you want to learn from the best this is the place to go . He also has a nice gun shop , check it out . Thank you for your service to our country Don and I look forward to taking some more training classes with you. It was a pleasure to get to learn from a man of your caliber.

I don't think I could recommend Don and Helen at Protection Plus Tactics enough. My father and I had been talking about starting the process of getting our CCWs for quite a while and it just wasn't ever a good time to jump in. But California politicians have a unique way of pushing you to do something sometimes hahaha.... so them changing the requirements at the beginning of the new year, kinda lit a fire under our seat cushions and we just decided to get it done.
So now it's a race against time. We are looking around and trying to decide where to go to take the class. A man that my dad knows, that had just gotten his ccw recently told him about PPT and that it was in Loomis (so not far away) and that it was a really great place to go for the class.
We looked it up, had some questions before hand, trying to make sure of a few things. They responded as thoroughly as they and that was that. We signed up for the next available class. Just happened to be one of the last ones before the changes.
Ok, enough with back story. I now tell anyone that shows interest in taking a class to go to PPT. Once you sign up, they send you a email with a little homework to do before the class and it's to watch some very thorough and well thought out videos, with a lot of cool and new information that you probably don't know. We didn't haha and to download the curriculum booklet that also had a lot of good information, basic gun stuff most of us know and some new stuff that you might not. I should mention, that once you sign up for a class, you have forever access to their videos and all the new videos they make
The class was great. And informal relaxed setting at their building. Much different than the first class I took while getting my guard card many years ago. Don, can come off as intense to some people, but in reality he is just very passionate about teaching and passing on his knowledge that he's collected over the years and experiences he's had. He just wants those that take a class from him to be prepared and at the best they can be after making the decision to protect themselves and those around them. He wants you to know that it's serious and important, but he will also make you laugh and not be too serious about everything at the same time.
Helen is just amazing. She's a little less intense than Don, specially during a class haha. She helped me with all the info before the class and after the class when there was an issue with my certificate. Her and Don compliment each other very well. They are both very personable and willing to help with any information you may need.
They have just recently opened up their own gun/gear store. I would recommend everyone going to check it out. They put a ton (literally, there's a lot of steel in there haha) of work into it and it looks amazing.
I look forward to picking up my new purchase with them soon. I'll definitely support them as much as can and look into buying new gear, maybe some new armor plates package and taking other classes with them
If you're in the market for a new pew pew or gear or taking a ccw/first aid/tactical class... go to PPT and support them! You won't be disappointed

I ended up here by accident when my originally scheduled class canceled last min.
The staff at PPT is nothing short of amazing. The level of professionalism and attention to detail is refreshing in a world that has forgotten the true meaning of the responsibility attached to caring. They do not sacrifice quality for volume.
Their level of training will make an experienced owner learn as well as a novice feel comfortable.
I can’t say enough good things about them. I highly, highly recommend them for all your needs.

Don and Helen are awesome! The good thing about them is they will not only help you but guide you as well in the process. That's what helen did to me coz i cant figure out the videos that we are supposed to watch before the classroom instruction. I will strongly recommend them to my friends. Thanks Don and Helen.

I will never go anywhere else now that I found PPT! I dont care how proficient you think you may be, just go see Don and the team to get freshened up! There's nothing better than learning from people with first hand experience, and a lot of it. I learned more in 1 training class than I ever imagined I would! The entire PPT team is very professional, a huge wealth of knowledge, and there to help you every step of the way. Stoked on what I learned this time around, and super excited to learn more from Don and the team in the future! I am definitely coming back soon for more goods, and training! I am also really excited to check out the new Protection Plus Tactics store with all the new light weight body armor, ammo, and other awesome stuff they bring in. Everything Don and Helen have in the store is top notch quality. They have awesome & useful products from great brands that no one else carries for hundreds of miles in any direction! I recently renewed my CCW with Protection Plus Tactics. I wasn't sure what to expect since this was my first time renewing my CCW with PPT. I can tell you they exceeded my expectations and I learned more in this renewal session than I have ever learned in any of my previous renewal sessions with other CCW renewal businesses. Our instructor Don was very good at raising our awareness of what is required to be a firearm owner and CCW permit holder. Don covers more than just CCW requirements he educates you the mindset you need to have in overall self defense with a firearm or other weapons. Be sure to check out the PPT website and look into the Training/PPT Prep and watch the "free" videos, it's time well spent. protectionplustactics.co…Our time at the shooting range was efficient considering the amount of time we had to get through the various shooting distances required for CCW qualification. You will learn how to safely handle and shoot your firearm. Check them if you want some serious self defense training or products. Thanks again to Don and his team for their quality of work and dedication towards the services they provide.

A most excellent training team. This was my second session, I broke many bad habits that hindered my accuracy, situational awareness, legal and moral concerns. What truly impacted was to know that no matter how bad someone was. .there is someone who loves them. Be aware and be treacherous

I had multiple firearm classes in different places until I found out about PPT and Don. First I took a private class with Don and his son Alex and now train regularly with them for about a year. The training they provide is really great! All other places I visited before while being a good start are not even close to the training I get here. It covers everything from the fundamental firearm safety rules and the very basic skills to advanced real life situations when you may need to protect yourself and your family.Don is a gifted teacher. He is very passionate and super knowledgeable. He always focus on safety and creates organized but comfortable and friendly environment in his classes.I also want to mention his wife Helen who is very nice and helps with scheduling classes and other organizational work and it’s always a pleasure to talk to.I don’t think you would be able to find a better self defense training place in the area and probably even beyond. For example I met people who drove a few hours from Bay Area to take a medical class with Don and the team.Great job!!!

Took my original CCW class here and have renewed twice with Protection +. Have also taken a long range shooting class and rifle dynamics class.....all have been incredible and extremely educational. Can't say enough good things about this company. 5+ stars!
