We recently adopted a beautiful female Pit Bull Terrier Mix puppy named Brittney from this location in Long Beach and we are so very happy and thrilled to welcome her into our home and lives. She is doing great in her new home and she is such a loving and adorable dog. We just love her so much! We want to thank the staff here in Long Beach. The young man and lady who brought Brittney out to meet us were very kind, patient, friendly, and professional. We want to thank you for your great and excellent service. Thank you for our Brittney! We appreciate your help and all the hard work that you do for all these beautiful animals :).Sincerely Brittney's new and proud owners,The Almanza Family from Whittier, CABob, Elisa, Gina & Robert Jr.

So I lost my dogs recently. One at my house and the other at my son house. We've spent almost $5000 in trying to save them. I've always purchased dogs all my life but this time around I wanted to give a dog an opportunity via adoption. I'm very disappointed and felt discriminated with this location as through the application I said the dog would sleep inside. Unfortunately in the interview process I misunderstood a question and they disqualified me because I said the dog would stay outside when it's sunny. Even though my boys are adults and live in a separate household with their mom, they were discriminated against because they were automatically denied an application because of their relationship to me. I was ready to adopt today because I loved 4 dogs that needed love and a home but unfortunately the dogs couldn't come with me so they will continue to stay outside in the rain with their floors covered in their own feces. A shame that they won't have a warm and welcoming home to come to today.

When they stopped making the tiny bites kibble I had been feeding our Yorkie, I mentioned to Rita I was doing some research. I had to drive 20 minutes to the only store that carried it and sometimes they were out of the large bag forcing me to get smalls for our 2 doggies. I told Rita about it and she said she could special order it. I was so happy! Since, she has always had my special 26 lb bag of Nature's LOGIC every 10-12 weeks ready to be picked up. Even through the Pandemic for which we are so grateful! Even better, now she's carrying the new line of Nature's Logic Distinction. This company, I truly trust. It's all USA, you are able to speak to them on the phone, they even call back with advice, ideas and no recalls on their products. Our doggies have never had any tummy issues since Nature's Logic. It's the very best I can feed them. Thank you SpcaLA Marketplace and Rita for all you do to help us with our fur babies! You're awesome!

Both myself and my dogs love this place. Great prices, awesome staff and let me tell you they have the best variety of brands of food, toys, etc. here that I can't find anywhere else. Plus all proceeds go back to the shelter! Why shop anywhere else ?!

I was calling pet supply stores to look for a specific good quality dog food brand (Nature's Logic) in a specific flavor (sardine). Other stores sold the brand, but not that flavor. They offered to special order it, but I did not want to wait. I continued calling from the Nature's Logic "Where to Buy" page which led me to spcaLA Marketplace. Success! Marketplace sells the sardine flavor. I headed down there. If like me you have never been here, PAY ATTENTION. You will arrive at El Dorado Park where there is a toll booth at the entrance. There is a sign with a menu of "Vehicle Entrance Fees" starting at $6 and up. I u-turned to exit & pulled over safely on the street. I called Marketplace & asked them about parking. They explained that when you go to the toll booth, tell the person that you are shopping at the Marketplace. The toll booth person directs you to drive in & turn left until it dead ends, then turn right & continue until you arrive at Marketplace. The point is the "Vehicle Entrance Fees" is for people going to the park. You do NOT pay the fee if you are going to the Marketplace. There was plenty of parking once I arrived at Marketplace. The Marketplace store itself is small but clean & tidy. It is not vast like a chain store, but what they DO carry is good to high-end quality foods (not Iams / Pedigree / Purina / Hill's Science Diet / Royal Canin crap), the kind you usually see in boutique & other better pet stores, plus misc. pet supplies. The bonus is that the prices are a few dollars cheaper than in boutique stores The nice woman behind the counter explained that they get "Shelter Pricing." This is a solid store if you're in the neighborhood. -1 star for the parking confusion. The parking situation should be explained on their web page. And because their Open Hours are a bit limited... Wed - Fri 9 am - 5:30 pm Sat - Sun 9 am - 4:30 pm Here is their web page. Scroll down to find the links to "Browse our marketplace now!"

On Octuber 31 we adopt Frances, now Freckles!! I want to say thank you for the wonderful job that your organization made to rescue cats like our Freckles and give them the chance to live and to be loved because in our home we love our freckles, he's been a blessing to us and for our female Cat Snowbie, We prevously adopted her from the SEEACA shelter, sadly she was an unhealthy cat with a lot flees and with respiratory problems, we took her to the vet and now she is a healthy cat, we call her snowbie, snowbie and freckles are inseparable, they play, they groom each other but most important they bring joy to our house. We took the decision to adopt another because we wanted snowbie to have a brother and luckily we found SPCA, we didnt have a good experiece from the previous shelter but SPCA change all the perception we have from shelters, thank you for all the medical treatments that were provided to my freckles (he was in very bad conditions too) and for the patience, care you did for my Freckles, now he is a Happy cat where he is loved everyday by our family and her sister snowbie. P.S: A lady named Tabitha helped through with the adoption process and she has been a great help to us even with the adaptation process of freckles. So if you're looking a realible shelter to adopt a pet this is the right place and their staff are well trained and are very kind.

My go-to for dog and cat food! Rita and team were so helpful during the pandemic. I love that the proceeds from sales go back to the shelter. I am excited to walk through the shop again and get treats and toys for the kids!

Everyone here is very helpful and nice, I buy my can and dry food for my dogs here. The prices are great and it helps the shelter. During the beginning of the pandemic Rita helped me get the dog food I needed to pick up for my dogs.

My husband and I adopted a cat named Elvis who is now "Mr. New York". Sariah and Tabitha made the adoption very pleasant and easy. The shelter was knowledgeable and communicated in a timely manner. I have had 40 years of anxiety about cats but I was blessed to get the perfect first fur baby. New York is very smart and sweet. He showed us his belly the first night. He's very affectionate. We love our new fur baby.

Hi Sariah, Just wanted to let you know how well our 4-month old adopted cat, Tarragon is working out. We actually re-named him Django. He's working out great, growing fast, and getting along well with our 2 1/2 year old female. We appreciate the excellent care he was given before we adopted. He's a great cat and glad we all were able to pitch in and give him a good life. Thanks again! Dennis C. Thanks!
