Checking in, I was asked for a (surprise!) $20 cash deposit for the room key. Upon checking out, I returned my room key and the clerk then demanded I show ID. Since he already had the key, I refused. I had to raise my voice in anger to get my $20.
Otherwise, the room was acceptable. I might even stay here again, given the convenient location.

Mixed reviews say pros and cons about this location. My stay which has been on more than one occasion has always been pleasant. The staff is nice and friendly. They have always delivered custom service to the best of their ability. The rooms may seem old school vibe but are clean and have no issues. The motel is kid safe but the location prompts it to be more for couples or a quick get away to recharge yourself from life.

I had seen this place and the pictures it showed. I had a deluxe king room and it didn't look like the picture at all. The room had been remodeled and some what updated. The hotel is in an older area and had lots of noise from strange people on the street. Like most of California in that area, no one planned for parking. There are few parking spots and very tight. It was reasonably priced for the area.

Stayed in Room102 on July 24th 2023 for one day. We have a nice king bed room well maintained and clean. The bathroom looks very nice the sheets and towels were fresh and smells really good. It's guaranteed that you will have parking spot even late at night because of their policy of one car per room. Our 2nd time on this motel and we are very satisfied. Will surely book here again when we visit Long Beach again.

If you like the constant sounds of gunshots while trying to sleep, tweakers outside, non smoking rooms that absolutely reek, graffitied rooms, and paper thin walls, this is the motel for you. I couldn't make it a whole night before I booked another place.

Use to live in the area, so whenever I come back to visit, sometimes I'll stay here. No frills, no thrills straightforward basic motel. Ignore all the scaremongering in the other comments about the area. As long as you mind your business, you'll be fine. I've never had a problem. As far as grading the motel, here are the pros:1.) Relatively cheap at $95 per night with a $20 cash security deposit, which they don't hassle you about handing back at your stay's end.2.) Heaters, AC, refrigerators, TVs all in working order.3.) You're in close proximity to downtown Long Beach, if you happen to be in town for an event, conference, concert. You can easily take the bus or ride a bike nearby to downtown/Junipero beach on 2nd Street.4.) Plenty of eateries and supermarkets within a short drive.5.) Have never seen a roach or bedbug at this place in my stays.6.) Snack, soda vending and ice machines always in working order, and supplied.Cons:1.) They use to charge $85 per night. Not sure why they raised the price.2.) The towels and bed linen is old, so don't expect 5-star quality there.3.) Some of the single occupancy bathrooms are smaller than others, so if you need a little space, I'd suggest asking to see the room before you pay for a night.
