IKEA is good for picking up items from shelves, not a reliable provided for an interior design or remodeling job. They have poor customer service and poor technical knowledge of design; their only service is to charge for purchase; they cannot help with back orders that take several months, items that arrive damaged, returning damaged items, or even getting refunds after items are returned. The designer forces unnecessary items, and you have to pay for unused items to be picked up later; then, they still refuse to refund as no one takes responsibility for the return or refund, not the studio, not the customer service, and not the physical store. It appears that several non-communicating systems work under IKEA's name. Be cautious about their recommended contractor, Eldredge, it is a deceptive company that changed the name to A T F G Construction due to negative reviews from their customers and their subcontractors.

Had a great experience at this planning studio. What a wonderful concept and saves a lot of hassle going into the big store, when all you want is to see the products, do measurements, and get help with designing out kitchens, baths, bedrooms and the like. There are some amount of small product items you can buy in the store, but the main purpose is to show you room configurations and all the options you have so you can design. The staff were very friendly & helpful with us.In our case I had already scoped out a bunch of ideas online, but sometimes their website makes it hard to know what all of your options are, such as the variety of doors you can put on cabinets or wardrobes. I had a list of things to check out, and some measurements, and going to the store was perfect! Got to see all the different options, check out different features, and ask knowledgeable staff for ideas. Ikea is such an affordable way to fit our spaces with decent quality cabinets & furniture and this store provides a nice boutique experience instead of big box.

I used the IKEA planning studio when I converted a room into a closet / dressing room. It is a great service and the design experts are very helpful and will share info about what has worked or not worked well for other customers. I am very happy with the outcome. I used an installer from the app "'Task rabbit" which was great as the tasker had experience and it went very smoothly.

The store over all is clean the staff is nice but I became disappointed when I walked in the staff member said he would help load my order onto the truck told me to back up the truck which i did then had me wait 20min outside with the truck on and my one year old become irritated because other people went into the store. Instead of letting them know he was already helping someone out he proceeded to to help all of those customers before finishing up with my order!!!!! This is extremely unprofessional!

We had our kitchen planning appointment with Jaleel and he was so kind and helpful with helping us design our kitchen. He gave us various options and listened to each request or question we had. After, we met with Paul and he helped us modify any small changes and order our materials. Paul has been so helpful with assisting us in a few items which were waitlisted. We are so happy to finally have our renewed kitchen! Thanks Jaleel & Paul

I made a huge mistake by remodel our duplex kitchen from IKEA studio in Long Beach. The staffs are clueless with the company’s system and process. The lack of product knowledge and training is obvious. It’s took me 5 months to get all the cabinetry on my waitlist. These untrained and un-resourceful staffs including the branch manager that’s unfamiliar with IKEA’s Sales Force. I have nothing against IKEA products. I recently gave IKEA store in Costa Mesa a try with another kitchen design and I could be happier. The levels of knowledge and professionalism is impressive compared to Long Beach Studio. IKEA corporate should consider shutting down this pilot branch in Long Beach. Do yourself a favor and check out the real IKEA store for your next kitchen design.

Who doesn't love IKEA...I think the young man's name is Jarrell. He was a wealth of knowledge, and I spent $1k just like that. Highly recommend going to a specialist instead of the "Big" store. With that said, we do love the big store.

Called here for information today. The girl on the phone was so nice. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. She happily help me with all my Questions. All my past experiences with ikea has been....mediocre at best. Wish there was more members at ikea like her.

The most pointless business. The woman who helped (lol) us was super rude and condescending to not only us, but the two groups that came before us. We ordered items to be picked up today, the website said that they could be picked up from this location TODAY, drove all the way out to this location just to be told that WE read the website wrong and that it would be available tomorrow. She also said the same thing to the two groups before us. Such a waste of time.
