Rooms: The rooms have a decent view and a very gentle vibe. The rooms could have been made more spacious but it is still a decent size for the location it is in.
Noteworthy details: The pool and Jacuzzi area is something that I loved

1st class amenities. Great location for everything. Many restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment venues are within walking distance. Plus, great daytime fun activities to choose from as well. Running, cycling along the beach bike path. Or just chilling poolside
Nearby activities: You name it....it's perfect location for indoor and outdoor Southern California entertainment and activities.

This hotel is top notch! Every single person that works there is pleasant and hospitable, wanting to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Shout out to Jeremy at the front desk for making our stay memorable! The property itself is gorgeous, the gym had everything we could need and was immaculately clean, the view from our ocean view room was gorgeous, and the location is walking distance from everything you could possibly want. We'll be back for sure! Well done, Hyatt!
Rooms: Very clean and plenty of space
Nearby activities: Lots of bars and restaurants walking distance away. The paddle swan boats in front of the property were fun. There's a boardwalk nearby with food, souvenirs, and an arcade. Lots of boat tours options available. The Aquarium of the Pacific and outlet stores are right there.

What a great hotel! I stayed here at the end of September for a business convention and could not have found a better hotel! Extremely close to the convention center, good food, great service, and a good gym!
I'll break this review down into groups:
Restaurant: I went there for a very late dinner one night and had a turkey sandwich with a side of tomato soup. It cost around $16, which is about what the same meal costs at a normal restaurant. The portion size was excellent. Not small. The food was fantastic too! Definitely worth the money. That was the only thing I ate there though. Their breakfast selections were a bit unusual and my idea of breakfast is cereal or a protein smoothie. The closest thing they had were pancakes, but that seemed like it would be too filling.
Overall grounds: Very clean. Even with the place basically sold out for the convention, and airline staff, I did not see any litter inside the hotel, nor on the grounds. Very well kept.
The Gym: A good selection of cardio equipment. A few leg machines, a lat pulldown machine, a shoulder press machine, and a chest press machine. Overall a good selection. They also had a dumbbell area, a barbell rack, and a "jungle gym" type multi-function pully/pull-up type machine. The dumbbells only go up to 50lbs, so that might limit some things you do. They also had a few adjustable benches.
The room: I paid the extra $25/d and got up to the 16th floor with a view of the lake and the Long Beach Arena. Great views! The room was nicely appointed. The bed was a little hard for my taste, but standard for a Hyatt. The shower had great pressure and the water got hot quick. Most importantly, the blackout shades were one unit that rolled up and down from the top of the window. No more fighting with overlapping curtains to try and keep them closed with binder clips! Major win!
The housekeeping staff: VERY nice people! They were there early each morning getting setup and when they saw you leaving they'd ask if you needed anything. You could have the not take care of the room or just get a refill on the coffee pods if you wanted.
Parking was easy and worked well with the room keys.
The hotel was in walking distance to most things that you'd want to go to. There's a mall and several restaurants, a Gold's Gym, and a movie theater across the street. The main road, Shoreline Drive, has a bridge from the hotel so you don't have to cross the street at the light to get to any of the restaurants or bars by the marina. Lots of good food options and the city kept the homeless away while I was there, so it was a very safe place to walk around at night.
Wifi worked well.
Rooms: 9.5 out of 10. See my review for more details.
Nearby activities: Walking distance to many activities, Aquarium of the Pacific, LB Arena, etc. See my review for more details.
Safety: The city had kicked out the homeless prior to the convention, so there was no threat to safety.
Walkability: Very short walk to the convention center (30 seconds once you leave the building). Walking distance to MANY restaurants.
Food and drinks: Plenty of food within walking distance, steak houses, bars, restaurants, etc. Hotel food is good! See my review.
Noteworthy details: See my review.

What a great experience here at the Hyatt Regency. I came for a business trip, and the staff were wonderful. Everything was nice and clean. Look forward to being at another conference here next year!

I'm writing this review after three nights at this hotel (2 more to go), and unfortunately, my experience has been subpar. Despite its prime location, the hotel's service and staff attitude fell short. Upon arrival, my room was dirty – torn bed frame, hair strands on the end table, and stained sofa. When I reported this to the front desk, they surprisingly asked me to define "dirty." The housekeeping staff seemed unbothered, and the replacement room was similar with dirty curtains and sofa. Toiletries were only provided for one person, despite booking for two. Repeated requests to replenish supplies and clean the room were ignored. The front desk staff's indifference was alarming.
- Air conditioning shuts off nightly for 3-4 hours, leaving me sweating- Front desk response: "Can we send a fan?"
As a Hyatt member, I've never experienced such poor service. The location is the only redeeming quality. I would not recommend wasting your money on this hotel if you're seeking a pleasant stay.
