The pickup process was a mess. The attendant forgot about our car seat so we had to sit and wait for about 30 minutes on a car seat to be delivered.We then got to our destination and realized the Tesla didn't come with the charger and we weren't close to any superchargers which ended up being a headache for the whole vacation. I was then charged $25 because the car showed up with 68% battery rather than the 83% battery I got it with. This wouldn't have happened if I had the charger the car should have come with.I contacted support and they said you have to request a charger and they might give one to you although they never tell you that beforehand.My guess is this once great company will be back in bankruptcy in the near future. Rent with Avis instead.

If you think you are reserving a car, you are not, even with a reservation it depends on what they have. They will try to give you an suv and call it an “upgrade.” Maria wouldn’t help me find another car at a different agency, apologize or offer anything than a raised voice. I told her it was $hitty and had to go pay $450 at Alamo.

This review is for CODY. Thank you for your stellar service at the end of the day. We had booked from Hotwire and we got stuck with a 2dr and we have a small child. When we brought up the situation, Cody was kind enough to help us find a better fit with just a small price difference. Thank you for your kindness and your understanding of our situation. We really appreciate your empathy. Hope to see u again another time!

Upon pick up and drop off at this location the customer service rep was either hard to find or just not at work! Upon drop off I asked for an emailed receipt so I can do my govt travel claim. The attendants wouldn’t confirm my email on file, said the person who could was not at work. I have still not received a receipt. The other rental companies on site were fully staffed so I recommend not using Hertz at LGB Airport.

Go right ahead and rent from literally anyone else. I’ve been here for an hour and their system has crashed 3 times. Avoid at all costs.

On November 21, I rented a vehicle from Hertz at the Lakewood location. When we arrived to pick up our reserved car, they did not have the vehicle we had reserved so we were “upgraded” to a mini sport utility vehicle that was so repulsively unclean that we immediately notified the Hertz agent that told us that that was the last auto they had for rent and that we could travel to the Hertz Long Beach location to potentially substitute for another car.We arrived at Hertz at the Long Beach Airport and were told that there was nothing they could do. After an agent looked in the car and smelled how absolutely repulsive the car smelled (think feces and cigars mixed with urine), we were offered an economy electric which was not suitable since we were traveling across the desert but it was our only option. There is very little charging infrastructure from LA to Phoenix for those interested.The night we changed cars, we realized that I had left my sunglasses in the original vehicle and promptly called the location to confirm they had found them. A rep assured me they had the sunglasses and that I simply needed to call back the following day to arrange their return.I have called Hertz no less than 100 times to try to rectify the situation. When I call the location, 4/5 times I am summarily disconnected with no one answering. I am managed to get through to representatives a few times all of whom promise to call me back. I have not received one single call backToday I have called four times and been transferred to a manager who then summarily hangs up on me. Her name is Marissa.The long and short of the story is that Hertz confirmed they had my sunglasses the day I left them in the car and now they refuse to take my call or do anything more than hang up on me when I call to address the situation.I have been promised callbacks for well over a month now. Not one. Not one call back. They stole my sunglasses, they rented me a car that smelled like feces and urine and cigars, they took a reservation for an automobile that they did not have to rent, and then rented me an automobile that was completely on suited to what I needed, which took me 12 hours to make. It should’ve been a 4 Hour drive but good luck, charging your car in the middle of the desert.This experience has truly been one of the worst customer service experiences of my entire life, and I don’t see that lightly

Had prepaid booking of 700- arrived late due to airlines; when I got to the counter, the gentleman at the counter insisted that my car was no longer available, and I HAD to do an upgrade. He only offered a much smaller car that we could not utilize. FYI, the car that I supposedly upgraded to was even smaller than my original booking so our trip was very difficult in that smaller car. When I turned in the car, I realize that the “upgrade“ was actually costing us an additional $700 or so, after thinking about it, I realize that what the gentleman was doing was actually making a bigger sale on my rental. When I walked into the parking lot, there was plenty of vehicles that he could’ve transferred my reservation to however, he preferred to take advantage, I guess at the moment that we were very late to the airport and looked tired, and then pursued the upgrade. I do not recommend this. After reading the reviews, it looks like this is a tactic that this location uses often. Shows a reflection of management and what they are asking their employees to do.

The lady at the counter was nice but it was all down hill after that...dog hair on the seats, dust everywhere, and the very strong odor of onions as if somebody left salsa in a hot car for a few days

Rented polestar got there at 10:55 for 11am reservation no polestar. Finally a car comes up but there is a stop rent on it still waiting move to tesla which comes with a j1772 adapter fir cccs plugs it’s not in the car though contract says car is at 100 percent energy although car is at 74 I drive 65 miles round trip can’t use charger because I don’t have adapter run to supercharger drive 2 miles from supercharger to airport car has 68 percent I. It and they charge me 35.00. I don’t apore hate the scam or being charged the 35 bucks beware if this location they are trying to make revenue on unsuspecting customers by way of fraud practices

How do they not have cars? Waited hours but they said it should only be a 30 minute wait. After a long flight, this was not how I wanted to spend my whole day. This is a terrible experience and I don't think I would ever consider Hertz for a rental car again.

Always had a pleasant experience. Mostly new vehicles, choices may be not as expansive as LAX, but their staff/service is top notch!

I went inside this guy name Cody took my reservation was trying to charge more stuff than what I agreed to.After getting the receipt he was trying to make excuses. You gotta have the right people to represent your company. Please remove him from that position.

Great experience at Hertz at Long Beach Airport. Brooke and Cody helped me and gave great service. Rental was clean and odor free. Car return was easy too. I had originally rented a car at Avis and they didn't have my car ready when I got there. This was a last minute rental with Hertz and they gave me a very fair price and a great Camry.
