This Hertz is a rip off. They will charge you for gas even when you return the car full. When you provide documentation of a full tank of gas (pictures, receipts) they still refuse. Do not use this location. They rip you off. They never answer the phone to rectify the situation and when you go through hertz.com they refuse to correct the error as well. Do not use this Hertz. They will rip you off.
The response from Hertz is meaningless. Local management is the problem and non-responsive. What is the point of forwarding to local management when they refuse to correct their mistake and provide awful customer service?
Empty words by Hertz when they are aware of the problems at this location and continue to allow them to rip off customers.

Marisa and Aaaron were the best!!!!! Marisa helped me with my rental when I asked her to switch drivers. She was able to help me out and even found a way to give me a discount through my insurance. She was amazing!! I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to switch drivers and Marisa had my back. I can't thank her enough. I was also helped by a couple of other people they were all helpful too, I think his name was Marvin, but all the team was great. Getting a rental car can be a stressful job but Hertz made this process very easy. I'm glad that I chose to use Hertz for my rental car. Also Aaron was also AMAZINGGGGG!!!!! He's energy and the way he spoke to me and my mom, made me feel so welcomed. He answered all my questions regarding my rental car and was very confident in the way he handled my family. I will come back to Hertz because of Marisa and Aaron and I recommend everyone to do so too! Hertz at the airport had my back and even upgraded my car when I thought it wasn't possible. I loved driving my rental and will encourage EVERYONE to come here too!! Drive safe, y'all!

Beware
Be very careful when you rent at this location. They will try to charge you for gas even after you return the vehicle with a full tank. This has happened to me twice at this location. The first time Hertz was very good and refunded the overcharge without any problem. This time, on June blank, I rented with Hertz and having learned my lesson, I filled up at a gas station less than a mile and a half from the airport (keeping the receipt). I went straight to Hertz. Approximately 5 minutes based on receipts. I took a picture of the vehicle in the Hertz lot showing mileage and that the gas tank was returned full. I advised the person in the booth that I filled the tank. While on the tarmac, I received notification that I was charged $200 for not filling the tank. When I arrived home, I reached out to Hertz at that location. As described by numerous other people on this site, nobody answered. Nobody ever answers. I’ve tried going through Hertz. I included the gas receipt, a picture of the gas gauge and I still can’t get the charge reversed. I had one representative reach out and request receipts. I re-submitted the documents and no response.

Recommend the company! Make sure you leave a valid email for the return transaction.
Picking up was the best part. The staff was effective and helpful. Upon returning the vehicle there was only one person in the booth but right away we were told to drop off the keys and they will send an email receipt. Which they did. Recommend to add a sign at the return booth guiding to drop off keys and to just do the line if something else is needed from the Hertz staff.

We got a good minivan at a great price and the process was easy. What I don't like is $14/day rental rate for a $30 car seat. Hint, pick one up at Walmart in Lakewood if you can. And you can also get cheap gas there.

I am standing here now, and “because I pre-paid” my Hertz Gold number was not on my reservation.
Mind you I pre-paid and booked thru Hertz itself.
The representative outside would not add it or help at all. He sent me inside. I go inside, wait forever, only to be told my only option is an electric car, of which I have no way to charge while on vacation. The representative told me I could pay for an upgrade or wait for something else to come in.
They clearly do not prioritize customer service here.
NEVER AGAIN.

They can't change prepaid reservations at the desk, you will have to wait on hold for over 30min and the 1-800 number will try to charge you more than double for the same reservation.

I feel compelled to provide this review, as my experience with LBC Hertz is opposite to several past reviews. Yes, when we arrived the process took a little bit longer than we had anticipated. But, there was only one person in the office and she was already busy dealing with an angry customer. She sent me outside to the booth and my interaction with Maria was excellent! She helped us find an alternative vehicle since the electric one we wanted was not available. She also helped us find any applicable discount that could be applied to the increase in rental price, having to go from an EV to an SUV. Maria was extremely helpful and displayed superior customer service. Thank you, LBC Hertz!

Horrible customer service, I returned a car I rented from Hertz and the Long Beach CA location did not registered it, now they are charging me for 3 weeks for the car which Hertz say I kept for 3 weeks more. STAY AWAY, do not rent from Hertz. go somewhere else. they are not worth the headaches.

First time renting with them and Matthew was the representative who assisted me and was very helpful if you rent here and Matthew is there just know you are being well taken care of

If I’m president status and I book a small sedan do I get to choose from any size car at check in?

The pickup process was a mess. The attendant forgot about our car seat so we had to sit and wait for about 30 minutes on a car seat to be delivered. We then got to our destination and realized the Tesla didn't come with the charger and we weren't close to any superchargers which ended up being a headache for the whole vacation. I was then charged $25 because the car showed up with 68% battery rather than the 83% battery I got it with. This wouldn't have happened if I had the charger the car should have come with.I contacted support and they said you have to request a charger and they might give one to you although they never tell you that beforehand. My guess is this once great company will be back in bankruptcy in the near future. Rent with Avis instead.

If you think you are reserving a car, you are not, even with a reservation it depends on what they have. They will try to give you an suv and call it an “upgrade.” Maria wouldn’t help me find another car at a different agency, apologize or offer anything than a raised voice. I told her it was $hitty and had to go pay $450 at Alamo.
