This hotel is LESS THAN! While the pictures make this hotel look luxurious, it’s far from it. Located in the ghetto, homeless hangout near the valet/entrance. Asked for a non joining room away from an elevator. The front desk (they/them) proceeded to roll (their/them) eyes, said my room was in the middle of two hallways I should be fine. Get up to my room and it’s a joining room. Go back downstairs, ask for another room, was given another room only to find out the AC doesn’t work. Maintenance came up and was amazing. He told me that the thermostat in the wall wasn’t working and had to configure the actual AC unit itself. He advised me to change the temp on the unit and disabled the wall thermostat. Additionally he stated he wished he could move the table that is sitting above the AC unit away from it to allow for better airflow. However, he realized this table is secured in place. The hotel phone had this loud static noise to the point I unplugged it from the wall. Lastly, the WIFI is awful!!! Several dropped calls and then the times they didn’t drop, the person on the other line couldn’t hear me. Overall, not the hotel that they portray this place to be. As a Titanium Elite member, I definitely will not be staying here in the future (I travel here for work all the time) and even debating checking out a day early, tomorrow, to find somewhere else to stay. Get it together Courtyard! False advertising.

Called to ask for some information about parking. Women at the front desk was extremely rude and hung up on me. Awful.

I loved my stay at this Courtyard. Definitely exceeded my expectations. The room was beautiful and the staff so friendly. My AC wasn’t working, which wasn’t a big deal to me but the staff went above and beyond to make it right. George, the engineer who came to fix it, was sharp and on it and found the problem right away. They were on it so quickly. It’s located a quick walk from the beach and the on-site parking was so handy, making the whole stay just … easy! Would definitely return! I didn’t take any photos but it was gorgeous.
Rooms: Rooms were big and comfy and had everything I needed.
Safety: This is downtown so there are homeless people but one morning when I was concerned because it was still dark they provided me an escort to my car. Super nice!
Walkability: I loved being able to walk to the beach!

On 9/6/24, I stayed at this Courtyard Long Beach Downtown hotel. About an hour after entering my room, 610or 612, a man jumped from the 7th-floor balcony and tried to break into my room. I immediately reported it to the front desk, and the police came to speak with me. The hotel moved me to another room, but later that night, the police returned to inform me that the man had died. Can you imagine how terrifying that was? I was so shaken I couldn’t leave the room, sleep, or work the next day.
When I checked out in the morning, no one seemed to care. The manager Merlo Silvano wasn’t even there, so I had to explain the entire situation to the receptionist, who was fine, he offered me 50k points as compensation. No refund or extra nights were offered, and I was told to speak to the manager that night. Even the police officers told me that the hotel should offer some form of compensation. Merlo Silvano never followed up with an email or text. I even reached out to comfort her, but look at how she handled it!
For an ordinary person, experiencing something like this—someone attempting to attack you and then dying in the same building—is traumatic. But for this hotel manager, it seemed routine, as if she’s seen it all before and just didn’t care. The 50k points were treated as generous compensation, but her lack of concern for the guests was clear. I will never stay at this hotel again and will make sure my friends know. Who knows, maybe a ghost is still wandering the building.
Safety: A man jumped from the 7th-floor balcony to the 6th and tried to break into my room, and he later died. It was a horrifying experience, but the hotel manager dismissed it as something beyond her control. It felt like, as a guest, I was just supposed to accept it.
Noteworthy details: The hotel manger doesn’t care about the guests.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel while visiting Long Beach. The room was modern and very clean. Great amenities including a virtual golf game that was really fun. I especially loved the staff. Shout out to Steven for taking such good care of me!! Also thank you to Jose, Raul and Jon for your kindness and helping me with my car, bags, directions, etc. The friendly demeanor of the staff is what will keep me coming back. ✌️

This was a very overpriced room and on top of that had to pay an additional +$25 for parking. The parking lot was awkward, no side door for hotel entrance. Had to walk all the way to the front of the building. If you have a room near the pool you will be forced to listen to other guests till 10pm. Not ideal because we had to get up very early the next day. Not relaxing.

My review applies only to the parking situation, since I used their affiliated parking service long term while on my cruise. While in their lot, my car was vandalized to the tune of $500 when someone tried to break in. The desk person politely took my name and email, knowing that they would refuse to accept responsibility, and that (since they are a hotel, after all) I do not live in the area so couldn't bring a small claims action. At the rate they charge for parking, think again about bringing your car here!

They have a maybe 3-4 gallon container of ice water in a dispenser in the lobby. On our way to bed, after a long hot day of moving, we filled our water bottles with water using it (first time). Didn’t even make a dent in the volume. We did this mostly because we tried to buy from the machines behind the counter and it was an unusually long wait because their check in is so sloooowwwww.
The very next morning there was a big sign at the container in the lobby telling people with water bottles to fill them in the gym (which was nasty). I’m sure that sign was directed specifically at us, which made us feel unappreciated at best. I mean, water is a nice amenity and they could have been generous, since it was difficult/impossible to buy water from them.
Pros: room was clean and MOST staff were nice although clearly not all. We’ll be back to Long Beach but trying other places in the future.

They remodeled property about 2 years ago and still looks pretty in nice shape
We liked everything except limited menu for vegetarians. Why there is so much propaganda to feed meat to everyone

The building is well maintained and the room looks new. The bathroom is spa like and the bed is comfortable. The staff are attentive and friendly. It is just a short walk to the Pike and the waterfront. This is a great place to stay.
