If I could give this review 0 stars I would. I have been bringing my family to this aquarium for years and this time our experience was disappointing to say the least. Never did we have to purchase the tickets in advance. We traveled more than 2hours to get to the aquarium around 2ish to be met with No ticket sales happening at the ticket booths and was told that we could purchase the tickets online however the entry time would be 5PM! So we'd have to wait around with toddlers for more than 3hrs and get an hours worth of visiting time for more than $200 for my entire party. The entire set up was atrociously disorganized, parking was an even worse nightmare than usual because of the Long Beach Grand Prix. The inside was half empty and they still had people waiting in the rain for their entry time it was ridiculous. This is extortion at this point for what?! Mediocre dated exhibits and a theater that plays the same 8 minute video. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T GO! With plenty more attractions that are just as great and feasibly priced you won't be losing out on anything.

Some of the best experiences in Southern California are at all the aquariums and museums that SoCal has to offer. Long Beach Aquarium has been long acclaimed for their vast variety of sea mammals and fish. The Aquarium at Long Beach is also a venue that we go to for all the proms for Orange County and Los Angeles High Schools. Thank you for keeping the modern and up to date with great customer service.

Great aquarium, especially for kids.As an adult, it is a bit small and some areas are a little cramped, but that's not a detractor, really, just a heads up.We brought my 6 yr old niece and she loved all the interactive components and interactive info graphics. For young children, I think this aquarium is perfect because it's not too big and there are tons of interactive exhibits and opportunities to pet some water animals. Also the parking is easy and plentiful.

Wow this aquarium was awesome! My parents were visiting and we took my 3 year old daughter and all had a great time! We spent 5 hours there! Highly recommend checking out the shark and moon jellies touch pool. The highlight for my daughter was in the Art Gallery area. You could color a fish or shark on a tablet and then send it to swim in a virtual coral reef projection, it was so cool!

Been coming for years and this last visit was depressing. They have a “man is bad and there are too many people” theme they shove down your throat. The thing is, I agree with the message, but I come here to enjoy and learn, and I don’t want to be reminded of that on every exhibit, every show, every movie. Also, the first floor has a lot of wasted space. The café in the middle takes up a lot of room. I think they should get rid of it and put in some more exhibits.Aside from that, the aquarium is well run and maintained, employees are friendly, and that's the reason I come back.

My stomach started hurting at the aquarium...I went to use bathroom and apparently it was time for cleaning crew to do a sweep. They obviously wanted me out of the stall, someone was standing by my door, and someone was sweeping and putting broom near or into my stall. When I came out, they had nerve to spray air freshener in my direction!! How humiliating, on top of being sick and being a patron to their establishment. No respect or compassion. Don't support businesses with staff like that.

Way too expensive. Some areas were “under construction”. It was very loud, even in the morning. Some aquariums very narrow and not clean. We felt sorry for the fish.I found areas where various fish could be touched to be extremely inappropriate. The rays just stuck to the ground and none of the animals seemed to enjoy it. I find it quite unnecessary to let children touch the animals. This is also because they don't just want to touch, they want to poke, hit or take things in their hands...
