I love this church, very relatable. I’ve been going since the beginning of the year. My only concern, today there was so much “hold ya neighbors hand” , “talk to your neighbor” and I just want the church leaders to be mindful for COVID, the flu and other germs going around and not everyone washes their hands or people still show up when they are sick.

Enjoyed my time in their service! It felt like"home". Relocating from Texas, I needed a place that reminded me there are worshippers everywhere. Excellence!??

I grew up in COGIC and I expect a certain level of worship and anointing! My family of 5 is trying to find a youthful church to meet the needs of my husband and I and our growing kids! I'd visited this church years ago when they were still on Gundry and didn't feel the anointing at all! I figured at that time I may have just been use to a certain style of ministry and needed to give it a second try. I went again today, almost 5 plus years later and still felt the same way. My biggest reason for trying them out again was to see if they had a youth ministry for my preteen so she's able to get the word on her level and also have something to entertain my younger 2 kids while I try and get the word. Well unfortunately they only had a play center with baby toys and video games with no structure or class tailored towards the word of God for any age group! Also your child would need to be 2 and potty trained for them to attend. Well needless to say, my preteen did not want to hang with babies all service, and my 2 toddlers are 1 and 2 and not potty trained, so we had to take them to the main service! Now here is where my frustration comes in. I've literally made it known to the greeters at the door, the leaders over the toddler ministry, and the ushers this is our first time! I would think they would mention our options for my toddlers and I to watch the service so they're not being disruptive! However no one said a thing and just motioned us in, and of course when the service starts is when my toddler decides to scream and cry. The congregation turns it into a laughing session and jokes that they paid for a sound proof room, which is embarrassing for a first time visitor who wasn't privy to this information. I didn't mind the joke as much as I did the ushers not informing us of the sound proof room! Outside of that I noticed that there was 1 scripture mentioned the entire sermon and the rest of the time it was freestyle! For a mom who's trying to get her children the right teaching and her husband a good mentor this was definitely not the place! It sucks because I really wanted to like this church because it's so close to our home. But I can truly say I left feeling the same way I came, EMPTY in my spirit.

Visited the church for the first time in August and had an excellent time went back to visit in November and would like to keep attending, considering joining the choir and small groups.

I have yet to go to one of their services, but I have spoken to the pastor (Pastor Wayne) several times (our sons are friends) and he is a genuinely warm, loving man who loves Jesus. I saw the worship team (led by the pastor's wife) at Biola University one time and they were wonderful. I highly recommend Antioch Church of Long Beach.

I thought I'd give this church a second whirl after my one visit years ago. I've grown so much in my faith that this church seems even further from God. For was ONE bible verse that opened up the sermon. From there on out it was a motivation speech and very secular must I add. Perhaps a little inappropriate when he joked that Adam was happy when he saw Eve naked. He preached about not being a millionaire due to lack of self confidence. He talked about his confessions not being Ushers and referenced Flavor Flav. Another church giving a message that mixes darkness with light to have a popular, cool, trendy message. The pastor said that on both sides of his family were public figures. His preaching gives the illusion that he is trying to be a public figure as a pastor. Pastors that are public figures usually preach watered down messages that produce little fruit. They don't produce deeper relationships with the Lord. All of these people still wearing face masks for Co Vid shows me that their little faith and that they don't understand that they are covered by the blood of Jesus. For worship there is an emphasis on a big sound system with worship leaders in tight jeans and holes. You can also see how content this congregation is by all the laughing emojis on my last review.
