This place is a gem of shop in Long Beach, and a must visit for anything from cool/vintage wear, to one-of-a-kind gifts for just about anybody. Candles, books, awesome clothes that are truly a find! Prices are super reasonable and they always have cool music playing in the store. Have also been there for events in the past with live music and food & drinks. Long Beach needs more places like this. When it comes to Bixby Knolls, this place is certainly the pearl of the quarter!

If you are looking for unique gifts, this is the place to go in Cal Heights! I have a slight addiction for their engraved gifts, which they can do on the spot in under 30 minutes! This store is my go-to for finding special gifts for people. And staff at this store are extremely helpful.

My family and I love this shop! The owner is so sweet and the products are amazing, however on our most recent trip on 07/07/22 I came in around 4:10pm and the sales girl seemed to be distant. I understand we interrupted her making a video outside but her attitude came off as unapproachable. The whole interaction just gave off an unwelcoming vibe which I know isn’t the norm for this store. The transaction process seemed like it was a nuisance for them, especially when I asked for my item to be gift wrapped. (Of course no one is going to be all smiles all the time but we felt like we had to get out of their quickly as the not bother them). Again we know this doesn’t reflect the store as a whole but this specific trip left us feeling relieved that the interaction/ transaction had ended. TPWK <3

I LOVE this store! I'm always greeted by a friendly, smiling face as soon as I walk in. They have so much cute stuff, too! A lot of it is even made locally. Plus, they have an amazing engraving machine so you can personalize the gifts you get there! It's always a pleasure to shop at the Better Half and I consistently have positive experiences there. They make shopping fun again!

Got here to browse about 17 minutes before close. Cashier was rude and let me know she wasn't available to make any gifts as they're gonna close in 17 minutes. Walked over to Rivers End next door where I was greeted with a smile and kindness. Happily spent my money there.

I just wanted to stop by and share how AMAZING Betterhalf is! This Small Business is the cutest shop, with affordable pricing, friendly owner & staff, but my favorite is their custom engraving dept! They are so accommodating, patient, & affordable! I'm so excited for all my personable gifts I get to give out on Christmas! Thank you Betterhalf!

Love The Better Half!! Have to share the most wonderful experience I had today purchasing a custom engraved anniversary present. I called up and the staff graciously did a video call with me to pick out the present. I even got to pick the fonts I liked best and in under 15 minutes it was ready! They also offered free delivery to my home. The customer service here is amazing and the product selection is great! Highly recommend them if you're looking for something special for your home or for a gift. Thank you so much!!

A wonderful friend of mine gifted me a special engraved pen and I love it so much that I asked her where she got the pen for me as I wanted to order more of those pens to gift them to my friends, family and clients. I ended up buying 30 pens and came to the store today to pick them up with my friend. I met Katie and Suzie for the very first time and wow I was blown away by their wonderful personality so welcoming caring and attentive to everyone walking in to the store. Customer service at its absolute BEST!! All the items in store are beautiful and amazing that words alone can't describe it. Pricing is definitely a big plus here super afforable for the quality you get. I thought it would cost me so much more for the 30 customized engraved pens as I want them exactly like the one I was gifted. And the store owner did the engraving for me without charging me extra money. Most places would charge me a lot more to do the engraving let alone the customized engraving to match the exact example on my pen. Make a long story even longer I walked around the store and saw so many items that I keep thinking of my friends and family who definitely love to see. Very well organized and staged Thank you Katie and Suzie for an amazing experience firat time at your store.
