In my recent search for a rental residence, applications were submitted to this office for myself, an adult grandson and an adult granddaughter. My grandson and I, but not my granddaughter, were approved to view possible homes. The reason given was because of her credit report. She does have a negative credit history, as she has been diagnosed with several medical issues that prevent her from seeking employment. When I inquired as to whether we would be acceptable, if she no longer was to reside with us. The answer given by the receptionist was that only Scott could make that decision, and she would make that inquiry for us. When I phoned again four days later to learn what his answer was, I was now told that I would have to personally meet with him to learn his decision. However, I was advised that he was not available at that time. I left many phone messages after that, but none were ever returned. Several weeks later, after I had finally accepted that I would not have further access to their services, I received a phone call from this office. I was told that there was a home in Mission Hills for rent where all three of us would be accepted as tenants. When I referred to their previous decision regarding my granddaughter, I was reassured that she would be approved. When I viewed the home, I began to realize what was going on. This particular rental had been available for an unusually long time, and I could see why. It was a horrible place to call home. First of all, it is in Mission Hills, which is not the most desirable residential area. The tour revealed a kitchen that was a disaster, as were both the front and back yards. Just to prove my suspicions, I inquired as to whether there were any other rentals that would accept my granddaughter. The response to that, of course, was that there were none. It didn't take a genius to see that they needed to get renters for this unpleasant residence and, hopefully, I would be desperate enough to make that possible. Otherwise, they would have explained why all three of us were acceptable here, but not in any other rental. My granddaughter could not contribute financially and our source of income would remain the same, regardless of where we live. I will never do business with this agency again, and I warn anyone else considering such an association to be very careful! Look for deceit and dishonesty under their artificial posturing! If you are looking for a super rental office, try Plus Property. These ladies are wonderful and so helpful every step of the way. They really want to work with you and willingly keep you advised as to the current rental market. They are always agreeable to appointments for viewing available homes.

My experience with this company, especially Rosie and Scott, was excellent. I would recommend them to any renter.

Prompt and professional, always ready to answer questions. Very reliable and very thorough. Highly recommended! Our experience with Scott has always been great, and that's over many years.

Buyer beware! They invited me to apply to a unit that is not even on the market, just to collect application fees. Their website is broken, and the application information they provide is full of market hype that is not aligned with the facts that are available about the housing market. Pretty shady. I would never rent from these folks.

Lying, deceitful, you name it, they did it. Bought a house where Scott had the seller say they knew of no “problems” in the house, signed a document saying that. Come to find out the seller was fully aware that the entire plumbing was shot and has been leaking for years into the foundation. Too many lies to count. Lied about so much it makes me sick. Never ever buy from them. You will regret it.

They took great care of my elderly grandparents as tenants for the past 5 years. I know my grandparents will miss having them as landlords!!!

Do not use Preferred to manage your rental home unless you want the following: Stonewalling complaints your tenant is doing illegal activities, and damage, no written inspections in 8 years, unreported damages you have to discover by doing your own inspections, very poor quality repairman used which created further repair issues, and many other problems. He even argued with me, when I evicted my tenants, about how much damages he would collect for me from their deposit, as if he worked for them rather than for me! If that's your idea of a 'preferred' way of doing things, then go ahead, place you lovely home in his hands and see it all go to pot, including the landscaping.

Have had a great experience with this company. Have rented with other property managements and they were awful. This company cares about the owners property and works hard to get the best tenant's they deserve. I see this first hand. Everyone here is very genuine and polite. Kudos for doing a great job!!

As a renter I thought they were awesome. We rented a house in the Village. Scott was always nice to me and my family and they responded right away to anything that needed fixing.

Preferred Property oversaw my rental for 3+ years. They screened potential tenants and notified me of their concerns. They scheduled walk through's with the tenant every year to make sure they were being respectful of my house. They were "on top" of the tenants whenever they were late with payments, and shared the late fees with me. Couldn't have been more satisfied with anyone else! Thanks, Scott Ehmer!

Despite the "no smoking" clause in the lease, this house REEKS of cigarette smoke. Managers refuse to admit that previous renters were smokers (despite nicotine residue all over inside "cleaned" windows). They refuse to have the carpet cleaned/deodorized, saying it is "as good as it gets". Also, they refuse to repaint the inside, despite horrendous touch up painting done by "professionals", with gloss spots all over the flat painted walls. I feel they did a lousy job of inspection, failed to notice the not working garbage disposal, clogged kitchen sink, or non-working stove top burner. I would not use this company to manage my property.

Initial experience was pleasing and company appeared nice. Scott Ehmer however treated our family with disrespect and was VERY rude. Would NOT recommend this company to future renters!! BEWARE!!
